Mr. Basiago says he experience with the future saw a garden city. What he didn't mention was he went to New Mexico many years in the future. He had no knowledge of anything else happening elsewhere in the world. In other interviews he says he was transported to Wash. DC. to 2013 and found it under 100 feet of water.

It is very conceivable that a catastropy occured, but not one that would wipe out the entire planet, but leave enough of the earth intact for people to build on.
