  • @marty9511 Yeah I should've gone with a race header and CAI with a cat back. Add a reflash and you are as quick as a stock Type S.

  • @unknownally yup. make sure you get type s bolt ons they flow better.

  • @unknownally I've actually driven an SI with the same exacts mods that you just described and raced a stock Type S and destroyed it by 3 cars lengths. It all depends on the driver homie. :)

  • @brownsound545 I never raced a Type S in this car but I do miss my EP3 so much.

    Got a much faster car now though.

  • i love my ep3...even though the jersey previous owner got a good amount of dings and scratches. but it is mech solid...

    just wish we would have the type r engine...not the f'ing RSX engine...blah! i don't want to turbocharge it for power, and I hate the ricer sound when you have modified exhausts...blah! I miss my WRX

  • @jflexe99 Thats the same problem Im having with my ep3. There are very few exhausts that sound good with 4 cylinders. Thats why Im stock right now, because I dont want to buy one that I regret.

    I bought the greddy evo2 exhaust for my car... its not loud all it does is give me a deep nice sound

  • The S2K was the 2nd best car made from Honda. Man I love that thing.

    NSX is the best. Just overpriced when new.

  • oK BUNZZ599 my ep3/k20a3 Fully stock internals is making 300WHP 260WTQ with RevhardKIt.. 57trim turbonetics turbo.. RC 750injectors... 450 Walbro FP.. Boost Contorll .. St.2 clutch.. and k-pro... Fully Tuned... and it is FAR FROM SLOW.. I SHIT ON BOLT ON STI's... EVO's..... Anyhing like that...

  • did u honk ur horn?? hahaha... but man do i not miss that engine. i miss the car, but the the k20a3. it had to be the worst engine to put in honda's american si line. i know with enough money you can get the k20a3 fast, you can make anything fast but the only great thing i can remember was the tranny for boost. besides that, mods did little to nothing.

    i know it sounds like i am bashing, but really, i am just speaking from my own experience.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, dude.

    It's an "economy vtec."

    >When you drive below 2200rpm, you use your primary cam lobes...

    1 normal intake lobe and 2 exhaust lobes.

    >Then when you hit vtec crossover at 2200rpm, the vtec solenoid engages a higher lift profile intake lobe on the intake side.

    That means under vtec, you are running 2 intake lobes and 2 exhaust lobes.

    This was something Honda did to create a funnel of air to improve emissions and fuel economy.

  • (continued) It doesn't really help as we are constantly "hitting vtec" at 2200rpm when city driving.

    Someone once stated that it was something Honda did just to show off their technology.

    K20A, K20A2, K24A1 motors:

    Not sure about the K24A1 but the others engage i-VTEC at 5500rpm

    That is the "screaming vtec" we all know and love. This gives us a burst of power because it uses 3 exhaust lobes and 3 intake lobes.

  • K24A1 is an I-Vtec .

  • its not a racing vtec its an saving gas vtec bro. if you wanna hear it just swap motors.

  • It's a shame they only but the K20a3 in the Si to the US market. In the UK they put that engine in a 'Type S' which is a 5 door, hatch.

    Still nice vid, sounds good. The K20a3 sounds more grunty low down than the K20a2 (UKDM Type R), but has less of a noise change on VTEC!

    I drive a Jetta as my DD and I can't stand it and remember how much better the Si feels...lol

    I seen the Type S 5 door before. I wouldn't mind driving that but it looks more like a minivan than my car.

  • lol...you noticed? I was holding the camera with one hand, and honked the horn trying to keep it stable when I shifted.
