  • RUSH HAS TO BE PUT IN THE ROCK AN ROLL HALL OF FAME !!!!!!!!!!

  • Justin Beiber having a video people still listen to after 30 years.....I doubt it!

  • NEAL PEART those were my first words !!

  • This was shot in the east end of Toronto in an area called Scarborough. The high school is L'amoreaux Collegiate on Warden Ave At Bridletown Circle. There are no shots of the twin towers.

  • is that actually lifeson who sings the "subdivisions" part?

  • @shlbirdman14

    On the record it's Neil.

  • Holy crap i cannot get over how bad ass Neil's drumming is. LEGENDS.

  • u kno how it says under the likes and dislikes that rush is playin at six flags on sep 3 well thats big time rush thats playin lol

  • HA! I love how Alex looks when he says "Subdivisions."

  • Thank you, Neil.

For writing a song about US, the invisible.

  • i love drumming and neal peart is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love the song

  • This is an amazing song!!!

  • MASTERPIECE! this makes all the music today look like the garbage it really is!

  • I like a lot of music, but i have to say that Rush is my all-time favorite. They are just so good. Thanks for the vids man, they are awesome!!!

  • ALL KNEEL BEFORE NEIL

  • I always loved this song , a bit of a majestic sound.

  • this song makes me want to get a synth

  • it s the twin towers in the begginning if ya didnt notice

but hey the at was there choice..hmm guess if RUSH coulnt predict it then who could?

  • @h8aification the twin towers were right next to each other, this was probably filmed in toronto or somewere in canada

  • @RushRulesRock yea prob AGREEd

  • @h8aification Predict what? I've to the twin towers several times. I'm actually going to NYC again this summer. Can't wait.

  • sprawling on the fringes of the city

    in geometric order

    an insulated border

in between the bright lights and the far unlit unknown

growing up it all seems so one sided

    opinions are provided

    the future predecided

detached and subdivided in the mass production zone

    fucking brilliant lyrics

  • sprawling on the fringes of the city

    in geometric order

    an insulated border

in between the bright lights and the far unlit unknown

    fucking brilliant lyrics

  • there is no best song by rush cause every song is their best song

  • @ThisISHappanin

lol could not agree more, I love them all too.

  • Pause at 3:56 and look at the guy on the far right. Look at his shirt. SWEET!!

  • @3intimid8or Right on! I'm so glad this was high school time for me. My daughter said if anybody at school had that t-shirt on now, they'd be sent to the office, then sent home. RULES, RULES, RULES. This shirt means I just went to the coolest concert last night. It doesn't mean I'm going to become someone bad.

Just think. All the people in this video are 45 now, but still 19 in mind.

  • @dj6927 My drummer friend had a "starman" shirt on a ton of times. People don't seem to care. He also wore a Led Zepplin shirt on that also had a nude person on the front....Luckly our school didn't care.

  • My aunt used to say Geddy Lee was "such a hunk". She's legally blind the poor thing...

  • When I was a kid I use to listen to Rush, they are the most amazing group, I grew up in Toronto, and drove from North york to downtown toronto.

I parked my car, and came back 5 minutes later with a 40 dollar parking ticket.

Thats toronto. The biggest criminal is the government. you will not be mugged in Toronto

At least if your mugged you have a chance to run away. If you have a parking ticket, you will not win, even if you fight it and win, you still lose. Time off work, parking etc..

  • my fav is 2112

  • this video should have so many more views than 9k, this is by far my favourite Rush song

  • love this song what inspired them to write it?

  • @Xrball idk but it's about a kid in high school who is socially isolated. Alex and Geddy were sorta like the losers of their school, so they may draw inspiration from personal experiences

  • @CircusEnvy23 neil wrote the lyrics to this song... and according to the documentry, neil was a nerd who got bullied all the time

  • love this song

  • Don't get me wrong but since i knew Rush first from Tom Sawyer i like it the best. Don't get it like"Oh this guy thinks the best rush song is Tom Sawyer no effin way" I have been a fan for a very long time i know there is other awesome Rush songs out there Tom Sawyer is the best one for me because thats the first song i heard from Rush. I also love Xanadu, Anthem, Far cry, Everything from Moving Pictures, Spirit of the radio, Fly by Night... And others just waiting to be named on to my long list

  • There's never been a Rush song I didn't like.

  • That drummer really blows my mind. I mean, damn! Look at him go! Fucking amazing.

  • I vote Cygnus X-1 part 2. :-)

  • i think 2112 is their best. like the whole friggin album

  • Xanadu............best rush song

  • what the heck is a troll?

  • @bassgroove21 someone on youtube who wont fuck off

  • @bassgroove21

Well in Norwegian it's a creature that is a big part of Norwegian fairytales.

  • @EILIVdrummer huh?

  • That this band is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet is a damn tragedy!

  • @woody6975 At least they've got there star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

  • you won my subscription just for the username. and since someone commented on how there are never arguments on rush vids im going to start one on which rush song is best. i say red barchetta.

  • @halodemo65 its obviously natural science, its the most musically mature and complex song in their vast catalog of win

  • @RushRulesRock Xanadu is there best song

  • @mrstefan2112 i agree, its a tie between the 2

  • hell yeah! rock on!

  • Awesome! There is no music being composed today that can compare in any way to this...

  • It actually sounds like Neil is saying subdivisions

  • @freddiefernandez i thought the same thing for the longest time

  • @freddiefernandez i thought the same thing for so long, but im guessing neil did write it, considering he writes pretty much all rush's songs

  • @Inebriation23 he writes all the lyrics, not the music, and the "subdivisions" part is from a radio show back in the day. i dont remember exactly which one though

  • @freddiefernandez nope its not neil or alex, it's canadian city tv news anchor mark dailey, someone asked him in an interview about it not long ago and he barely remembers it but its him though.

  • Dynamic perfection at it's finest.

  • i love how theres never arguments going on through comments on rush vids guess cuz there so fucking good no one can complain

  • Why not more hits on this vid? I drove around for 4months is '82 with this cassette in my Dad's Ford Truck while moving the Grandparents. Either Rush or AM 1600 KJET. Men with Hats and Billy Idol always seemed to have been playing. Long Live The Kings of Rock- RUSH

  • heil neal peart

  • I jam to this a lot in my car real loud

  • One of my favorite Rush tunes! Superb!

  • Perfect drumming !

  • Too Good

  • Epic song/video, agreed

  • ZVARRI! EPIC!!
