They should've made this particular battle scene a little longer with more confrontation instead of showing the slaughter of an army by arrows. Yes, it was a good strategy for the emperor to use against them but at least give them another 4 minutes of epic battles between the Black/White army against the Golden army. That would be more entertaining for us to watch and would make sense this is a surprise attack. Thumbs up if you agree! :D

When they got to the wall, why didn't the regular soldiers just keep those ladders up? They might have at least gotten past the walls then. I mean I know it was constantly pressing forward but they could have just backed up with it.

To answer the question. The emperor is not to fight in battle, so he has his army to do it for him and so, what better way than to use seige towers to squese them in and use arrows. Besides its just a stroy anyways.

I can't honestly say I could choose either side. I can't choose the emperor's side because he gives no reason for poisoning the empress, nor can I choose Jai's side because of the same reason. If I knew why the emperor was poisoning his own empress I'm confident that I'd be able to come to a decision.

problems with gold army battle plan

1. no one defending the rear to hold the gates

2.sending everyone at once (with superiority in #s attack in waves)

3. underestimating the most tecnologicly advanced army in the world

4. using only spears instead of swords(swords allow the user to use a sheild to defend against arrows)

Silver advantages

1. giant fuc@n wall and large sheilds

2. lots of archers

3. probably outnumbering the golds

4. outflanking

Actually, the "gold" soldiers are the Royal Guards being led by Prince Jai. The "silver" soldiers are the Palace Guards under the command of the Emperor. The pet-peeve I had with the battle was that the Royal Guards were inadecuately equipped to fight. They didn't even have shields or archers to use, unlike the Palace Guards. You would think that someone as experienced as Jai would at least bring shields.

The end of this movie had me like......"WTF?". Jai is bad ass, Chou is on my list of favorites now. Though one little problem, the shields. They obviously didn't just come from no where so wouldn't the smart thing be to move ahead before they closed, once first noticed? Come on now. They all died..so un-cool.

Unlikely. Even with shields, they were outnumbered and wouldn't have had the combined strength to push back. Plus, this is a solid wall coming at them with spikes and spears sticking out. They fought well with what they had, but were well outmatched by manpower and equipment.

Nah.. Even if they fight head on, the golden ones will still lose for sure.. Just look at how the few assassins managed to fight (start of video), just a few black ones and the golden ones had lost much of their armies.. And the golden ones are just imperial guards, they are the front line footmen in war (pawns), which is not a match against the elites.
