Even if it's front engine and AWD, it'll still be a track monster. The only thing that bugs me is that Honda scrapped the V10 (sounded so sweet, too) and is opting for a V6 hybrid. If they tune it right, the hybrid part could really help with torque. But I just want to see some real prototypes of the current announced version.
If Honda puts their 400 hp V6 in their HPD Pilot in the exact same configuration as the last NSX (mid-engine, rear wheel drive, all aluminum body, light weight), Acura could achieve around a 3 second 0-60 time! Too bad they won't do that, cause it would be another marvel, rivaling even the Bugatti Veyron

A bit disapointed, altough I wont judge befor seeing it without camouflage.
I hoped it would look like a Ferrari Italia or like a Lamborghini Gallardo, but this doesn't.

PERSONALLY I THINK THEY LOST THE CONCEPT AND ESSENCE OF THE NSX. I'VE HAD TWO NSX'S A RED '94 AND A YELLOW '97. TO BEGIN I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THE NSX IS TOO HOT OF AN EXOTIC CAR FOR THE HORSEPOWER IT CARRIED. LIKE REALLY, UNDER 300 FOR THAT HOT SEXY LOOK??? U HAVE LITTLE HONDA'S TRYING U. THEN TO MAKE IT FASTER U'D HAVE TO INVEST LIKE 10 GRAND TO GET IT SUPERCHARGED. I LOVED THE CAR BUT IT LACKED POWER. THIS NEW ONE, I CAN CARE LESS!!! NOT SEXY AT ALL!!!

This is a Nissan 370Z with a BMW Z4 back end. 2011 Honda design team sucks on original thinking and imagination. Nothing bites more than a design that looks like something borrowed from something else.

@ciance Really? This video dates back to 10/072008 way before the 370 was released. (370 unveiled 29/10/2008) Wouldn't Nissan be the one that's copying? Besides if anything the rear looks like a the new Honda CRZ rather than Z4; the back is too high. Nothing bites more than someone who doesn't research and just babbles.

@xm8563 My inadequate research comes from owning a Z4 and am perhaps then might not intimate with the back end of my own car to know. You make a good point on who might have copied who. So I'll go one further beyond my original observation and say all this shit looks the same. Can no one have an original design idea that doesn't remind anyone of a car that already exists? I don't see anyone ever thinking a Porsche has the lines of an Acura or Nissan.

actually both of you are wrong/right. In north america the NSX was sold under Acura, presumably because of american market's preconception that high performance sports cars should assume a premium/luxury identity.
In the rest of the world, the NSX was sold under the honda brand.

well if this ever goes into production it will blow LFA away , since LFA is insanely expensive and limited. this NSX would surely struggle to lay down the GTR.....heck every other company struggled....like vetts....ZR1 ? beat the GTR ? lol bearly... now the 2011 GTR is even faster and lighter..with minimal changes.

@manikdj123 not in productions yet, not even close. Honda is still delaying, I guess the word is that they can't really agree on a design. To compete with LFA and GTR it needs to be what you see in this video. To be an NSX, it might need to be something that harkens back to the original NSX.

in my opinion, this thing shouldnt bear the acura emblem... it should be a honda emblem. seeing as how honda has never mass produced a v8 engine for their passenger cars yet they go ahead and jump straight to a v10 is awesome. they need to call it the honda nsx worldwide, not acura. even though acura is their luxury/technology offbrand, they should stick with the true company name for their first mass produced more-than-6-cylinder supercar.
