  • The earth is much cooler now than in 1998. The cooling is noticeable. According to NASA satellite temperature sensors and the Met Office Hadley Centre in the UK there has been no year since 1998 that has been as warm or warmer than 1998. Also those same NASA satellite sensors show quick cooling in the earth since January 2007.

All this time though since 1998 co2 levels have been rising.

As I have already mentioned, it is flawed reasoning to argue whether or not CO2 driven global warming is occurring simply based on whether one year has higher or lower temperature than another. A comprehensive theory must take into account LONG-TERM trends and explain WHY certain temperature changes occur.

To take your 1998 example, you can clearly see from the graph that there was a massive increase in average annual global temperatures between 1996 and 1998 of about 0.4°C. This greatly outpaced the increase in five-year average global temperatures during the same period, which was only about 0.1°C. It is not surprising then that there was a sharp decrease in annual temperatures from 1998 to 1999 and a small further decrease from 1999 to 2000.

Despite this, the 2000 temperature is still higher than the 1996 temperature! Every subsequent year has been warmer than 2000. I actually mentioned the sharp drops in temperature from January 2007 to January 2008 and from 1998 to 1999 (and also from 1973 to 1974) in my video, but explained that these had been attributed to "a rapid change from El Niño to La Niña conditions."

I also mentioned a predicted drop in average annual temperature in 2008 of 0.3°C due to this very phenomenon. As should be apparent though, this single-year and explainable temperature drop wouldn't invalidate the detailed theories of C02 driven global warming and the complex climate-change models made by experts in the field.

  • Actually if you will do further research into the false religion of Global Warming you will discover from NASA and the ESA that over the last 2 years we have had an average of 26.8 gigaton increase in the amount of sea ice at antartica and a dramatic increase in the ice shelf itself.. As well the lie that the Artic is soon to be ice free is rebuffed by the same agencies with telemic satelite images of the poles showing both an increse in the ice at both poles

I'm not actually here to debate the issue of global warming as I am not an expert in the field. I do however know that theories about climate change are a lot more complex than simply seeing if temperatures or ice levels go up or down over a period of a couple of years. They have to take into account every significant change in global climatic conditions over several decades and not simply describe what happened but explain why it happened.

I don't know if what you say is true or not about polar ice levels, but more importantly I don't know if this information is consistent with current global warming theories. I wouldn't be surprised if it was, given that there are most definitely short-term fluctuations in global temperatures, regardless of whether or not there is a longer-term trend of warming, and whether this is caused by the increased CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.

I am aware that due to this being a popular topic of debate and that most people who debate it aren't even scientists, let alone experts in the science of the global climate, there is a lot of misinformation and many oversimplifications of theories, both by those that argue that global warming is happening and by those who argue against this.

  • (Reply to jcc6767 part 4 of 4)

My video simply dealt with addressing a specific piece of misinformation that I came across where I could easily check the claim by going to the source of the claim.

  • I can answer that with a simple comon sense explanation. Warm air causes evaporation, water vapor condences and falls to earth. When there is more warmth, this happens faster causing more rain/snow fall in some areas. The poles are areas that normally could be considered deserts. That is they don't get actual fall of water from the clouds. The "snow" is blown in from warmer regions. So growth seems to happen. Then the Spring/summer thaw, & away it goes. Showing a decrease over the long term.
