Tracfone is designed for people who are on welfare because it doesn't cost them anything, but if you don't qualify for welfare and you buy a tracfone, then watch out and their customer service is beyond horrible.
Everytime I call Tracfone I get someone in New Delhi, or South America who want my name, address, ssn, home phone before they tell me they can't help me.My tracfone always says NO SERVICE or EMERGENCY ONLY. They get money for every safelink customer and on top of that you have to send them copies of your Medicare or food stamp info to to get the 68 free units a month.- our personal info isn't safe with tracfone outsourcing all that personal and federal information to every third world country
They riped me of off $21.00. I don't even bother sending the phone back 'cause i have a feeling i won't get any money back and won't be able to talk to ANYONE regarding my issue at TF.
Before you buy their shit, search google for TracFone customer service, read what people say. I had no idea a multi billion corporation can have THIS TERRIBLE SUPPORT.
Worst company ever. I bought a phone of their website, activated it, got my minutes, but for some reason i didn't get a number. I tried contacting CS for 3 business days. THREE DAYS, around 60 calls in total and NOT ONCE i could get a hold of a live rep.
Ok, so i sent them an email, 5 days later they replied with absolutely unrelated response to my issue and told me to call them if that didn't help (lol).
@haosmark uhmm u mean u dont know ur own number? u can get that by using ur own handset...the company cant give u ur number for security purposes...its under prepaid menu......
I have never had a problem callin customer service for Tracfone. And the last time I called to have my old phone number and minutes switched onto my new phone, the service rep gave me an extra 30 minutes because he thought he kept me on the line too long - it was only 15 minutes. I never use my tracfone to call service, I use my landline phone, so my cell units are not used. Better than Verizon contract service my friend has headaches dealing with.
I had two tracfones and called tracfone to switch the numbers, and they did it, no problem. Took less than 30 minutes for them to do this.
Never had a problem with Tracfones, and will only use their service. Its cheaper than contracts and phones cheap so if I need new one, no big hassle with cell company. If i lose the phone, not traumatic, just buy another one at Target for $15.
That's the problem with TracFone. It's cheap and while it works, it's great. When it doesn't work there is virtually no customer service. But shitty customer server permeates the entire industry. The only question is how much you'll have spent before you inevitably get ass-raped. (But at least with other phone companies you can always argue with someone, not that it will do you any good.)
Tracfone seems to be pretty popular . I see there products in various tores in my area. I assume somebody must be getting pretty good service , but unfortunately , that is not my experience.
sorry.. by not updated i meant you need to call customer service to have your phone receive the updates or they sometimes transfer you to the department who does all the stuffs with the phone numbers
The cell phone number on my tracfone is soembody elses number. when I dial it with my net10 phone the phone doesn't ring. Instead someone , somewhere else answers.
