You guys who train 5 or more days week how many calories do you consume? I really struggle with my kilojoules requirement for my 5 sessions each week.
I recently signed up for cross country and i am so excited! practice isnt for awhile, but i was running 11 miles a day by practicing for only 4 days (i know, i'm amazing) but i got a bad cold and i diddnt get out of bed for 3 days. i think my friend is ahead of me and i want to be able to beat him in every race. what can i do to get back up to pace?
@cicirunner k. i run 6 days per week and if i over do it and hurt myself i do 5. i run twice a day for around 5-6 miles each time and on my day off i run 1-2 miles at night if i want
I have been running for a while and I hate it when people walk! But if you are just starting go ahead and walk take a deep breath and count to 10 or 30 and just start jogging and breath consistantly that always helps you gain a little more energy don't listen to this guy!
anyone with enough experience not to need to walk doesn't need all the other advice in this video. @ 2:08 who turns back during a race? yeah don't listen to this guy if you're a beginner you may have to walk that's ok, but turning back is just unheard of and is pointless. also not everyone has a kick but the goal should not be to have nothing left if you have a kick use it. geeze what a dumbass. he reminds me of my driving instructor for some reason.
as soon as this dude says OR do exactly what your coach tells you to do that is him saying "I dont know what the hell im talking about but your coaches will!"
this guy is an idiot. i'm an all state runner and he knows nothing. 3 miles is a lot when your going fast. if a 3 mile race is easy for you it means you weren't running fast enough.Don't listen to him.
DO NOT start off sprinting real fast first do a bit jogging wait for the slower distancers to burn then there are a cuple in front of you jogging then you start to sprint on final lap right befor finish line another tip buttkickers and long steps deep breaths moving arms your oppenent is gonna want to pass you of course anybody does you know fitness day in gym class yeah practice in gym when you have free time run at least 3 laps on the track PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
@holljas11185749 are you kidding me? sure this guy is a douche, but cross country is a very serious, difficult sport. It requires an amazingly fit body, but even more so a fit mind. Just because running isn't your thing doesn't mean you can diss it. And why watch and instructional video on cc if you don't consider it a sport?
@holljas11185749 hahaha your the fuggin joke dude. Ima guess you play some sport that translates well on tv. Just to show you how much of a sport cross country is and how much better it is than your sport, your punishment in practice, IS OUR ENTIRE PRACTICE.
@holljas11185749 Watch my videos if you have doubts about cross country and read the comments by passionate runners that realize cross country is the greatest thing ever.
Hey I'm in the 7th grade and I'm a beginner in cc. I started this year. At the beginning of the year I ran a mile In 6:10 at the end of the season I ran it in 5:45. Does anulyone have tips to help me get better? I'm a girl so no boy stuff plz
It was dress code not to wear long boxers under racing shorts, which to my demise I did. So I freeballed thinking nothing would go wrong. Well....for 21 minutes and 32 seconds my dick kept flopping out of my shorts and im sure I stole some "pure eyes" that day. Funny story im sure some people can relate to.
Cross Country is a personal battle. It's about pushing yourself. Even though you hurt, you push yourself harder. If you beat your time, you are running a good time.
My freshmen year I only ran a 21:00. But that was a "good time" because I was trying my hardest and beating my time by a little bit each race.
For all you new runners, don't worry about the clock. Just push yourself as hard as you can. Whatever time you EARN is good enough.
@PsychoFlounder lunges are good to do for strength training but not before a race, they tire your legs out. strides and other drills will warm your legs up with less tear and are more race specific
@taylort36 I know what your talking about, but never really speculated on it much, its like a touch your toes stretch but when you put your head on your knees, your legs feel week when running. thanks for the tip bro
@HolyRollersCF you can but its stressing your muscles more than they have to in order to be warmed up. i have never seen a team do this at xc nationals d1 or d2. however, there are different ways to warm up, so just because i don't believe in doing lunges before a race doesn't make me an idiot, and just cause your team is the best in the region doesn't mean that what your doing is right.
I just came back from the JR Olympics in Connecticut, there was an 8th grader that was in my race (4K) and finished in first with a time of 13:48. He is the fastest runner in the state.
Ok this is how it rolls...............Sprint to get to the beining of the pack then keep your pace then sprint to the finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Trust me i am a great runner getting 1-3rd place in every cross contry meet on Varsity
@1shotkillu Depends on where you run. On some teams that's pretty good, on other teams it's average. I would say it's not that fast, but you have more time to improve. I don't know what you ran freshman year though. If you started out at like 22 or 23 minutes and now you're at 19, then I would say that's a sick improvement.
when i run in the first 1 mile is normal 2nd mile a little fast then 3rd time use all the energy !!!! it helps and NEVER DRINK SODA!!!!! your gonna vomit
@V0LC0M661 good, but you could do better, keep practecing and once you drop your time to um... about...19:00-20:00 you'll be considered by me a skilled freshman runner
@YAEGERBOMBS18 Yeah right, people talk big but cant back it up.
you would have to be really good to run 16:58, something that i could easilly acchive, but i dont belive u in the fact that there are some really lazy people out there that wont go out to run and train, to be true some people do run, but not as long distance or as fast to acctually progress. Which is why i dont think u would be able to run that fast. for u....20:00 and that is at your pearsonal best, unless u do train as much as me.
@sesshomaraul I SAID THAT MY FUCKING MILE WAS UNDER 5 MIN , MY FUCKING TRACK 800 WAS BELOW 2 MINUTES, MY 5K IS LIKE A LOW 18 SUCK MY DICK U STUPID BITCH
Once he runs a three mile race, he's going to take back all he said. Do NOT use your teammates as a sole reference of where you're supposed to be in a race. Trust yourself. It might be your first race; just go out and run it. The amazing thing about racing is that there are many to run. After each and every one, you tweak your strategies and your mindsets and you should never stop. Know how your body feels at a 5:30 pace, at a 5:15 pace, and so on and so forth. Cross country is an art.
if he doesn't think 3 miles is hard, then he obviously isn't trying his best! u should be exhausted after every race, no matter what the distance is! If you are not, you didn't do your best : )
jack crap? anyways, 3 miles isnt that hard, but it just take practice. i run cross country im in 8th but i run varisty, i still come in top 15. what ever u do.DO NOT RUN FAST AT THE START. it will kill u. once u see ur teammates slowing down. u slow down if u start behind them u stay
Everyone is hatin on this guy when he gives you the same advice any coach would. y'all are weak and little girls if you think 3 miles kills you. y'all probably TRY and stay in front the whole time. it's about chillin with a steady pace first 1.5 miles the next 1.5 you pick it up with striding. stupid. just run alot and eat good.
mr moob man doesnt know crap i ran a meet today dont listen to his tips they suck your supposed to go slow first and progress up pace yourself and it takes alot of willpower
@xTucker2121 nice dude where you from? 10k sucks balls i couldn't. i run a 5k and my best is about 19:30. i am from vermont so it's all hills but i'm still looking to cut that time by a minute or so
This guy runs CC? Look at his tits! What ridiculous "advice"! This guy knows nothing about CC. What a joke. "Don't ever stop and walk." Oh, okay, I was just about to do that! Just running. What an idiot.
stop saying "just 3 miles" you pale fuckwad, those three miles are so intense no matter who you are. My record was just under 18 minutes but it felt like 2 hours
i ran 3 miles the other day at night. It wasn't all that hard because i focused on keeping my pace and not being at the front. first 1.5 mile i paced myself then second 1.5 i ran in 5 50. I've only been training for 2 and 1/2 weeks in the hot Louisiana sun. So running three miles in cool weather is like a cakewalk now. But when your start off the slowest like i did in the beginning you get discouraged.
WTF? he keeps saying its a 3 mile. last i knew, a 5K was like 3.1 miles...this guy's a douche! if you run at 6 minute pace, you'd probably run like an 18:20 or so...noob! :P
If you wanna get in shape run. If you wanna get In shape and have fun start. Cycling! I've done both and bike racing is way better and still painful!

jack crap? anyways, 3 miles isnt that hard, but it just take practice. i run cross country im in 8th but i run varisty, i still come in top 15. what ever u do.DO NOT RUN FAST AT THE START. it will kill u. once u see ur teammates slowing down. u slow down if u start behind them u stay
greenmansix 1 year ago
Everyone is hatin on this guy when he gives you the same advice any coach would. y'all are weak and little girls if you think 3 miles kills you. y'all probably TRY and stay in front the whole time. it's about chillin with a steady pace first 1.5 miles the next 1.5 you pick it up with striding. stupid. just run alot and eat good.

This guy runs CC? Look at his tits! What ridiculous "advice"! This guy knows nothing about CC. What a joke. "Don't ever stop and walk." Oh, okay, I was just about to do that! Just running. What an idiot.

You're retarded dude. I do cross country and in the heat with like 10 hills you get tired. It's NOT just 3 miles. It's intense.

"listen to your body"
im pretty sure you're supposed to push your body not let it be comfortable

I lol'd. I doubt this guy ever was 2 miles through a grueling race, looked up and saw a big hill and just wanted to keel over right there.

stop saying "just 3 miles" you pale fuckwad, those three miles are so intense no matter who you are.

DamarSweetness 1 year ago
WTF? he keeps saying its a 3 mile. last i knew, a 5K was like 3.1 miles...this guy's a douche! if you run at 6 minute pace, you'd probably run like an 18:20 or so...noob! :P
