  • If you wanna get in shape run. If you wanna get In shape and have fun start. Cycling! I've done both and bike racing is way better and still painful!

  • "Don't stop and walk" Oh, thanks for letting me know that. I was going to stop to break wind.

  • this guy would be named trevor.

  • no one does sprints before a race, we do STRIDES- completely different

  • @traindude95 If you don't agree with this guy, then why is this video in your favorites haha

  • @cicirunner ...no idea, i favorited pre-screen

  • Laberbacke!

  • You guys who train 5 or more days week how many calories do you consume? I really struggle with my kilojoules requirement for my 5 sessions each week.

  • @skyscraper83 I have been running every day for the past 4.5 weeks and I eat about 3,000 calories/day.

  • Comment removed

  • As soon as I saw the man boobs I knew this guy would have no idea what he's talking about.

  • I recently signed up for cross country and i am so excited! practice isnt for awhile, but i was running 11 miles a day by practicing for only 4 days (i know, i'm amazing) but i got a bad cold and i diddnt get out of bed for 3 days. i think my friend is ahead of me and i want to be able to beat him in every race. what can i do to get back up to pace?

  • @origindirewolf 11 miles a day is legit. Why do you only run 4 times a day though?

  • @cicirunner i said that i practiced for 4 days not that i run 4 times a day

  • @origindirewolf It was a typo. I meant per week.

  • @cicirunner k. i run 6 days per week and if i over do it and hurt myself i do 5. i run twice a day for around 5-6 miles each time and on my day off i run 1-2 miles at night if i want

  • @cicirunner i run 5-6 days per week depending on how much i did that week

  • For practice I only run the 4 mile route but some others go 5,7, or 9. I've also gotten Achilles tendinitis.

  • i started running in cross country 2 days ago

  • @rajjitchahal lol nice man im a freshman and i ran my first race today :) i got 22:21

  • This guy is a pedophile

  • Sir, this is my first year ever, you seem very confused on how hard it actually is.

  • I have been running for a while and I hate it when people walk! But if you are just starting go ahead and walk take a deep breath and count to 10 or 30 and just start jogging and breath consistantly that always helps you gain a little more energy don't listen to this guy!

  • nice boobs

  • I just joined voss country and some of this stiff helped me. Thanks

  • anyone with enough experience not to need to walk doesn't need all the other advice in this video. @ 2:08 who turns back during a race? yeah don't listen to this guy if you're a beginner you may have to walk that's ok, but turning back is just unheard of and is pointless. also not everyone has a kick but the goal should not be to have nothing left if you have a kick use it. geeze what a dumbass. he reminds me of my driving instructor for some reason.

  • hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha no.

  • More like training on how to suck.

  • looks like he is trying to hide a bonner with his hands

  • Don't listen to this woofter.. He thinks he's the terminator! You should always try save some!

  • 0k no one wants to see a high guy on you tube so delete this video

  • Him having man boobs is enough evidence to conclude that he knows nothing about cross country

  • must be blind... is he even looking at camera

  • sir. you are fucking retarded

  • This Guy Never Made Varsity On His Team !!!!

  • Pre uses every cell in his body in a 3 mile race.

  • HAHA i like it when he says not to walk but the people behind him are walking!

  • @christtam it takes you almost an extra minute to run .125 miles?

  • the person running by at 2:38 probably knows 10x more about cross country than this guy

  • lunges are actually good before a race, just a couple, because they stretch you out and if u do a few, they dont hurt or tire you out at all :)

  • Thanks for advise

  • as soon as this dude says OR do exactly what your coach tells you to do that is him saying "I dont know what the hell im talking about but your coaches will!"

  • u r talkin about secondry school level, you know nothin about running, im Country level not secondary. these r the wrost tips eva

  • this guy is an idiot. i'm an all state runner and he knows nothing. 3 miles is a lot when your going fast. if a 3 mile race is easy for you it means you weren't running fast enough.Don't listen to him.

  • what a Downer this buck is .. Bet he is shit at x country

  • This guy said "even with the best of us we" hahah puhhhh-lease......don't flatter yourself man

  • @TheBraziliantV LMAO!! Totally.

  • hehe...he has man boobs

  • DO NOT start off sprinting real fast first do a bit jogging wait for the slower distancers to burn then there are a cuple in front of you jogging then you start to sprint on final lap right befor finish line another tip buttkickers and long steps deep breaths moving arms your oppenent is gonna want to pass you of course anybody does you know fitness day in gym class yeah practice in gym when you have free time run at least 3 laps on the track PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!

  • He forgot to add SURGE! Surge everyone!!!

  • this is the funniest fucking thing I have ever seen, cross country is a joke. Why is it a sport.

  • @holljas11185749 are you kidding me? sure this guy is a douche, but cross country is a very serious, difficult sport. It requires an amazingly fit body, but even more so a fit mind. Just because running isn't your thing doesn't mean you can diss it. And why watch and instructional video on cc if you don't consider it a sport?

  • @holljas11185749 was that even necessary?

  • @holljas11185749 hahaha your the fuggin joke dude. Ima guess you play some sport that translates well on tv. Just to show you how much of a sport cross country is and how much better it is than your sport, your punishment in practice, IS OUR ENTIRE PRACTICE.

  • @holljas11185749 Watch my videos if you have doubts about cross country and read the comments by passionate runners that realize cross country is the greatest thing ever.

  • This guy doesnt know what he is on about. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS RUN YOUR OWN RACE AND NOT JUST FOLLOW YOUR TEAM MATES!

  • Pre is rolling in his grave right now

  • Man boobs.

  • I DID IT!!!!I dropped my time by 2 min,my new best 3 mile time is 19:19!

  • i love how everyone says there PR when nobody cares what it is

  • Hey I'm in the 7th grade and I'm a beginner in cc. I started this year. At the beginning of the year I ran a mile In 6:10 at the end of the season I ran it in 5:45. Does anulyone have tips to help me get better? I'm a girl so no boy stuff plz

  • @paigehofstad your a beasty ass girl....idk how u can get better lmfao

  • @saaddapunkrocker haha thank you :)

  • @paigehofstad keep running run all year long

  • @mrfridaynight330 alright thanks

  • I at the worst I go 5:00 on my first mile...

  • @christtam you realize that a 5k is .1 mile longer than a 3 mile? how the hell is your 3m and 5k a 53 second difference?

  • It was dress code not to wear long boxers under racing shorts, which to my demise I did. So I freeballed thinking nothing would go wrong. Well....for 21 minutes and 32 seconds my dick kept flopping out of my shorts and im sure I stole some "pure eyes" that day. Funny story im sure some people can relate to.

  • Cross Country is a personal battle. It's about pushing yourself. Even though you hurt, you push yourself harder. If you beat your time, you are running a good time.

My freshmen year I only ran a 21:00. But that was a "good time" because I was trying my hardest and beating my time by a little bit each race.

For all you new runners, don't worry about the clock. Just push yourself as hard as you can. Whatever time you EARN is good enough.

    (haha FWI I'm 15, I run a 5k in 18:24.)

  • @ThePurpleNinja4209 i give you props bro. i run at 22:40 for the 5k but im continuing to push myself

  • im not a fan of expert village for much of anything

  • This guy is a dumbass

    1. doing lunges before a race? no, dont do that

    2. putting all your energy into the first 1-2 miles? how will you finish?

    3. haha dont walk... obviously...

    4. just dont listen, this guy is stupid

  • @taylort36 wats wrong with lunges?

  • @PsychoFlounder lunges are good to do for strength training but not before a race, they tire your legs out. strides and other drills will warm your legs up with less tear and are more race specific

  • @taylort36 I know what your talking about, but never really speculated on it much, its like a touch your toes stretch but when you put your head on your knees, your legs feel week when running. thanks for the tip bro

  • @taylort36 i am just starting xc, why not lunges?

  • @taylort36 It's actually good to do a couple lunges before running as it is dynamic stretching.

  • @taylort36 No kidding! I run Cross Country and this dude is just STUPID!

  • @taylort36 you do lunges before a race idiot thats what my team does were wanna the best in our region

  • @HolyRollersCF you can but its stressing your muscles more than they have to in order to be warmed up. i have never seen a team do this at xc nationals d1 or d2. however, there are different ways to warm up, so just because i don't believe in doing lunges before a race doesn't make me an idiot, and just cause your team is the best in the region doesn't mean that what your doing is right.

  • @taylort36 YES I COMPLETELY AGREE, HE'S A FLIPPIN MORON

  • no offense, if ur saying we are not giving it all for 3 miles then not 1 of us running a good race, and i doubt that

  • I just came back from the JR Olympics in Connecticut, there was an 8th grader that was in my race (4K) and finished in first with a time of 13:48. He is the fastest runner in the state.

  • i run 2miles in 15:17

  • I am a freshmen and run a 18:26 is that good?

  • @Broncosman5 that is a good 5k time for a freshmen, not for a jr. or sr. though

  • Ok this is how it rolls...............Sprint to get to the beining of the pack then keep your pace then sprint to the finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Trust me i am a great runner getting 1-3rd place in every cross contry meet on Varsity

  • in 2010. go to mile split .com

  • this guy is hilarious

  • Im 13 and i run mine in 17:14?

  • @SeEZerR26 lies. the fastest freshman is 18 minutes or sumthing like that.

  • @1shotkillu haha you dont no anything about times lol

  • @1shotkillu Foreallss Buut hoow much do you guyss runn cause i runn like 3 or 4 k? :P

  • i run it in 16:32

  • is a 19:01 good for a sophomore? lol

  • @1shotkillu yea its pretty good u prob could make it into varsity

  • @1shotkillu no theres a frshman in my team that runs 17 50

  • @1shotkillu Depends on where you run. On some teams that's pretty good, on other teams it's average. I would say it's not that fast, but you have more time to improve. I don't know what you ran freshman year though. If you started out at like 22 or 23 minutes and now you're at 19, then I would say that's a sick improvement.

  • Pumpkin Run 2010 McAlistermom Youtube Crazy!

  • when i run in the first 1 mile is normal 2nd mile a little fast then 3rd time use all the energy !!!! it helps and NEVER DRINK SODA!!!!! your gonna vomit

  • I'm a freshmen and I run 3 miles in 19:38, is that good?

  • @TheBadcat123 yes!!

  • @TheBadcat123 19:38 is a good speed thats about how fast i go

  • @TheBadcat123 yeah

  • @TheBadcat123 That's good bro, keep dropping your time

  • fast in beginning, fast in the middle, fast in the end... its that easy...

  • @fastmover564 easier said than done...im guessing u dont run...

  • @saaddapunkrocker I run a 18:23 Trabuco Hills Cross Country... im a sophmore

  • @fastmover564 its a inside joke with my friends

  • yea?! i'm practicing with varsity right now cuz my coach thinks i have alot of potential......sikk

  • i run 3 miles in 21 min nd imma freshman iz that good?????

  • @V0LC0M661 thats good for the varsity on my team :)

  • @V0LC0M661 thts pretty good

  • @V0LC0M661 good, but you could do better, keep practecing and once you drop your time to um... about...19:00-20:00 you'll be considered by me a skilled freshman runner

  • @sesshomaraul hahahahah ok i will watch haha

  • i run a 5k in 16:58 ill shit on this guy

  • @YAEGERBOMBS18 Yeah right, people talk big but cant back it up.

you would have to be really good to run 16:58, something that i could easilly acchive, but i dont belive u in the fact that there are some really lazy people out there that wont go out to run and train, to be true some people do run, but not as long distance or as fast to acctually progress. Which is why i dont think u would be able to run that fast. for u....20:00 and that is at your pearsonal best, unless u do train as much as me.

  • thank u for the common sense

  • MAN BOOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i run mine in 25 minuets and im 12 that sux

  • @erickson12344 IM 16 I RUN IT IN 5 !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ODIN34X U CANT RUN 3 MILES IN 5 MINUTES!!!!! FUCKING BULLSHIT,

THAT WOULD BE LITTLE MORE THAN 1.5 MINUTES A MILE!!! IMPOSSIBLE EVEN FOR PROS. U DONT EVEN RUN!

  • @sesshomaraul I SAID THAT MY FUCKING MILE WAS UNDER 5 MIN , MY FUCKING TRACK 800 WAS BELOW 2 MINUTES, MY 5K IS LIKE A LOW 18 SUCK MY DICK U STUPID BITCH

  • @ODIN34X haha youurr a dumbass! Thattss impossible that like running 1 mile in 1:53 .IMPOSSIBLE

  • @erickson12344 ur 2 years younger than me and thats wat i run so no

  • @geto235 forreal the woodlands. i would win district, but at regionals, these dudes made me feel like the slowest guy alive

  • i feel uncomfortable watching this guy

  • I have a cross country race in 2 hours, exited

  • @webtoon999 Hahaha and you're watching videos right before.

  • @cicirunner yup ;)

  • forget the running, just enjoy the comments, total B.S

  • xee00@ how bout shut the fudge up

  • @karlferrer7 Why are you defending Expert Village? I'm just curious.

  • expertvillage is never a good source of advice

  • Once he runs a three mile race, he's going to take back all he said. Do NOT use your teammates as a sole reference of where you're supposed to be in a race. Trust yourself. It might be your first race; just go out and run it. The amazing thing about racing is that there are many to run. After each and every one, you tweak your strategies and your mindsets and you should never stop. Know how your body feels at a 5:30 pace, at a 5:15 pace, and so on and so forth. Cross country is an art.

  • if he doesn't think 3 miles is hard, then he obviously isn't trying his best! u should be exhausted after every race, no matter what the distance is! If you are not, you didn't do your best : )

  • this guys such a fucking idiot

  • This guy is supposed to be an expert, is he?

  • lol he doesnt know that the 3 miles is a batttle >.< he doesnt kno anything but its so funny!

  • jack crap? anyways, 3 miles isnt that hard, but it just take practice. i run cross country im in 8th but i run varisty, i still come in top 15. what ever u do.DO NOT RUN FAST AT THE START. it will kill u. once u see ur teammates slowing down. u slow down if u start behind them u stay

  • Everyone is hatin on this guy when he gives you the same advice any coach would. y'all are weak and little girls if you think 3 miles kills you. y'all probably TRY and stay in front the whole time. it's about chillin with a steady pace first 1.5 miles the next 1.5 you pick it up with striding. stupid. just run alot and eat good.

  • thank you this help alot not

  • A Complete waste of 4 minutes of my life. He told me shit i already know.

  • WOW!...NICE BOOBS!

  • wow! .. nice BOOBS!!

  • What a fool.

  • this guy is an idiot.

  • mr moob man doesnt know crap i ran a meet today dont listen to his tips they suck your supposed to go slow first and progress up pace yourself and it takes alot of willpower

  • for me i dont feel like i have any energy at the end and at a race today my stomach was in serious pain but at the end i got energy from nowhere.

  • man boobs much?

  • you didnt give any good advice at all sorry but it has to be said

  • ohh i get it...hes referring to special olympic cross country...that studder and not knowing what to say next gives it away

  • Dude , are those boobs or pecks ? BOOBS .

  • this guy probably runs a 32:00

  • @epicbattler 6:30 minutes faster than me..... in my 10K

  • @xTucker2121 nice dude where you from? 10k sucks balls i couldn't. i run a 5k and my best is about 19:30. i am from vermont so it's all hills but i'm still looking to cut that time by a minute or so

  • @xTucker2121 sorry that's not my best it's my average -_-'

  • This guy runs CC? Look at his tits! What ridiculous "advice"! This guy knows nothing about CC. What a joke. "Don't ever stop and walk." Oh, okay, I was just about to do that! Just running. What an idiot.

  • You're retarded dude. I do cross country and in the heat with like 10 hills you get tired. It's NOT just 3 miles. It's intense.

  • "listen to your body"

im pretty sure you're supposed to push your body not let it be comfortable

  • is this supposed to be a parody of cross country coach or something?

  • This guy is a quack. He knows nothing about REAL cross country racing.

  • Today i ran a three mile race and got 17 FLAT its my PR :-D i need to keep working hard tho its our first race

  • @jrod youre a stupid fuck. when did he ever say its a 5k

  • "its just 3 miles"

I lol'd. I doubt this guy ever was 2 miles through a grueling race, looked up and saw a big hill and just wanted to keel over right there.

  • asshole

  • stop saying "just 3 miles" you pale fuckwad, those three miles are so intense no matter who you are. My record was just under 18 minutes but it felt like 2 hours

  • @BC721 HAHAHA nice one

  • this guys nipple was stareing at me thorgh the whole video

  • i ran 3 miles the other day at night. It wasn't all that hard because i focused on keeping my pace and not being at the front. first 1.5 mile i paced myself then second 1.5 i ran in 5 50. I've only been training for 2 and 1/2 weeks in the hot Louisiana sun. So running three miles in cool weather is like a cakewalk now. But when your start off the slowest like i did in the beginning you get discouraged.

  • WTF? he keeps saying its a 3 mile. last i knew, a 5K was like 3.1 miles...this guy's a douche! if you run at 6 minute pace, you'd probably run like an 18:20 or so...noob! :P

  • fag

  • good job....i can really use what u said!!!!!

  • your FAKE!!

  • hey how's this fag boy. you meet me somewhere and i'll race your fatass and show you whats up. bitch.

  • @dicksonisballa LOL!!!

  • SHUT UP

  • this guy sounds like a dipshit
