Everyone has a differnent driving style, you cant do the same things you'd do in a BMW 325i that you would do in an S15, so it all depends on how the driver likes to drive.

It's more efficient. You get a bigger brake effect from your engine rather than going through each individual. You watch, say, Mark Skaife at Bathurst. He'll come down conrod at 300KM/h in 6th gear, brake, and then go straight to second.
