  • @respectcourage but it won't take long/livin' in the city/with the summer to come

  • i like to watch their live perfomans

  • Thumbs up if you like KOL's older work more than their newer!

  • @j00p1234 that worked

  • @j00p1234 there older stuff is better than there new stuff, but come around sundown is so much better than only by the night.

  • Sooooo Sexyy. (:

  • I miss them like this. ;(

  • can someone explain to me why the fuck they don't play that live anymore?

  • Ah, fond memories of when they used to be good. What have they done to themselves? they used to really rock the house down with music like this.

  • Petition for Nathan to bring back that F---ING AWESOME BEARD!!

  • E.P.I.C.!!!! :)))

  • Ah yes, 2004. Years before their mainstream success, "styling", when it was about the music and when they were actually looking like stereotypes of where they come from! What it is it that mainstream success does to bands?

  • @vivalasagne9 Dude seriosly, the music was pretty stereotypical too but it rocked fucking balls. I gotta say it still does too. Nobody can say songs like crawl and be somebody don't kick ass.

  • @vivalasagne9 they were actually very popular in england and australia in 2004, they still sold a lot of records back then. just not as much as they do now that they are popular in the US.

  • why is hot guy always called jared?

  • FUCK I wish they still played this song!! Makes me not even wonna see them live ;)

  • Favorite song by my favorite band!

  • So great that makes me wanna run and just live my life .

  • these guys seem to be better live

  • @LeftHandedAdam hahaha ...i know those are the lyrics but they look funny spelled out like that

  • his old hair makes me laugh so much!

  • @SophieRhiann Your mom makes me laugh so much

  • @TheSchoolsux345 well, she is quite funny.

  • @SophieRhiann indeed.

  • in the first 20 seconds of the video he says "well guys the day of music is fixin' to begin"

  • i have no idea what he says in the first 20 seconds.

  • @poopinmymouth100 neither do i... if someone does - please translate!

  • @poopinmymouth100 i believe he says, 'well guys. the day of music is fixing to begin. so uh we got a couple songs left, happy alone'

  • Ahh I am so excited to see these guys tomorrow in CT :) they were and are so amazing.

  • does that dad at 1:41 have a joint in his mouth with his kid on his shoulder!!!?????? haha that would be awesome...it is a joint!!!! haha 1:41 that kid is gonnabe a cool stoner by 8

  • @MaximusHendrix haha looks like it!

  • esta es una de sus mejores rolas.. no sé xk han dejado de tocarla..

  • These were the days where Matt and Jared were doped off there head ^_^

Glad they got away from all that stuff, otherwise It could have been so different.

  • Kings of Leon at their best ♥

Youth and Young Manhood was such a brilliant album, it's a shame their new stuff isn't as good as their old stuff cos they used to be so amazing. xo.

  • Thats what im talking about pure rock , and a brilliant scottish crowd!

  • nice and stoned

  • "I love to watch you when your dancing." This song makes me happy. I wish they would play this song occasionally at their concerts, it is one of my favorites of all time.

  • oh my god, 2004, the best year in the history of kol. best 2 records ever!!

one of my favourite songs ever!

  • shit that girl at 3.23 is hawt!

  • @pana619

    Yush.

  • Kol is such a great band. cant wait till they perform in irvine

  • Fu@*k yeah!!!

  • my fav song ever!

  • Hey! Does anybody know what sunglasses Caleb is wearing? They are so awesome :D

I have realized that it's the Wayfarer series, but what specific model, and what color (Polarized?) Any ideas? Please help out... I've got to have them

  • Wayfarer square RB2151 and yeah i gess it is polarized...

But they cost around €100,- so they are fuckin expensive

  • Thanx a lot man! Thought for a second that they were RB2140's, they look quite the same though...

  • @Hansmedglans1450 I don't know if you got an answer but Caleb's sunglasses are Ray-Ban. The model is RB2140, or at least that's what they look like to me.

  • is that the first time caleb's ever introduced a song? they normally just go straight in... :P

  • nop

  • @mburton12 I know. And he introduced it in his first and second album voice.

  • "but it wont take long, living in the city for the summer to come" :) 2:41

how epic does that fit? should be on the album version. amazing version nonetheless.

  • I miss them :(

  • Haha...Matthew is so f'd up he makes a mess out of the solo.

  • that chorus is a riot man! i miss old KoL

  • @johnc310 gooooooooooooooooooooooooonnna tangle my face haaair

  • @mellovictor hell yeah! :)

  • i have the same sunglasses

    good KOL

  • t in the park yaldy! fuckin love this tune, if only they still rattled it long time!

  • i spoiled myself by only listening to their live stuff...

now hearing the old studio recordings for the first time....man....i mean, dont get me wrong i still love it....but come on, them playing live is soooo much better...

    Trani live at Bonnaroo 2004

and Wicker Chair live at the Townhouse studios in London

amazing...maybe its just me, but those songs are 1000 times better live than on the album..

  • such a good singer & a amazing band! cant wait to see them :)

  • muy buena cancion, bunisimaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Does he say something like "you aint shit to me" at 2:37? I think in the album version he says "you aint nothing to me". Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's kinda hard to make out :)

  • yes its different he also adds a part to it in 2:44.This version is much better if u ask me

  • Yeah me too, I wish they'd start playing it live again. I find that most live versions of their older songs are better

  • @supersparrow26 you wish they'd start playing it again? looks like your wish has been granted!

  • @supersparrow26

the older songs are much better than the new ones. raw and exciting.

  • i do think so and i find it awesoe- thats soe true aggression!

just really love this band-they deserve the success!

  • ya he does. The reason for him sayin 'nothing' on the album was that because of their religious upbringing and all that, they tried to avoid using explicit lyrics on the album! supposedly, their mom cried when they found out 'cunt' was in taper jean girl!

  • Ha ha but in Genius he says the F word, and talking about "giving himself a hand" lol!!

  • haha xD

i just imagine the mum of them standing over the lyrics of their genius music and crying xD

  • Hard to think they give a fuck about what their parents would think, man. Their lyrics are all pretty fucked up in that sense, and they never seemed to even try to hide any of the sex and drugs in either songs or interviews.

  • what does he say at 2:44 ?

  • No idea, i'm Flemisch! ;-)

  • hey ik ook! Ook een kings of leon fan?;)

  • Absolutemento! Van de eerste tot de laatste single!

Was je op Werchter 2009? Was super!

  • but it wont take long living in the city for the sumer to come somthing like that.

  • i wish it was 2003...i wanna go out for drinks with KOL! ;)

  • i really couldn't care less about the "selling out" thing...it's just the fact that youth and young manhood was a lot better record than this new one, and that bums me out a bit. but they still got it, and once they kind of get used to this popularity in the US, they're gonna put out another great one. their sound changed significantly in four albums...it's not gonna stay where it is for long.

  • 1:41 :) :) :)

  • Every stupid agument regarding selling out is a joke...if you listen to all their albums you can hear the evolution! They idn't sell out they grew (physically and musically) so stop the bullshit sell out posts and either listen or don't...if you were a fan in 2003 and in 09 you are tired of them move the fuck on!

  • WOAH..THIS IS AMAZING

    KOL ROCK! :D

  • OK, so you can't search any 03/04 vids without encountering this same old fricking argument.

So my question is this: kol have said that this latest is the record they have always wanted to make, they just didn't have the technical know-how. If this is the case, what if they had gone against this instinct and made yaym part 3, 4, 5 etc JUST TO PLEASE THEIR FANS, would this also be "selling out"? Or is that one OK because you'd like the music more??

Just let them do their thing

  • I don't think the selling out is the music, its more the arrogance they have got now, there is no stage presence anymore, they have fans magazines, all this shit all on their websites about this and that they are doing for everyone, the fact KOL used to go after gigs back 5 or 6 years ago for drinks with their fans really showed they were into it, now they don't seem interested. not saying they should, because they would get raped like, but you know..

BTW Im actually a huge fan of theirs...

  • they say that they wanted to be famous but if they stayed like the old days they would be stucked so they had to turned more commercial and change lots of things.

  • the new stuff is shite, not even worth thinking about, its mainstream for a reason, because it has a mainsteam fucking sound,.....sell outs. they look like old men on stage now, matthew has piled on the beef and caleb plays so crepid...these were the days man x

  • ur a fucking loser man.

& wayy wrong i might add.

first of all, what they look like has nothing to do with anything.

& two, how about u pick up an instrument & come back & tell me if u still play the same style 6 years from now. it will ALWAYS change, get use to it..

seems ur just a fan of a certain style of music, rather than a fan of the kol. u dont even know the meaning of "mainstream" or "sellouts" u dont make records unless u want peeps to hear. so why is it wrong when lots love them? loser

  • who gives a fuck about style. Is it GOOD ?yes that's the main thing. i've grown tired of this old vs new shit FUCK IT why not let them have there main stream success they'll come back to the dark side soon.

  • Whoever says that they were or look bad in the old times got to be an in love teenager desperating for that only by the night crap.

  • yea i wish they would do a show with just the old stuff an no only by the night..

  • ... my comment has been removed!

Just because someone`s not your opinion???

    Well that speaks for itself...

  • So if you saw a pregnant woman it's ok to call her a fat bitch? All because it's your opinion?

If I were to go on a Metallica video and say they all looked retarded, then you think people with see it from your point of view?

  • Well, they DID look BAD at that time.

That`s just my opinion and I`ll say it again.

    Give me thumbs down.

Just because I`m someone`s fan doesn`t mean I have to glorify everything they are and do...

  • They fact is if you come into a video like this one, an old KoL video, which is going to be viewed mostly by people who love the older KoL and start saying they looked bad, which is something we have to deal with from all these dumbass Sex/Somebody fans, you're going to get attacked. So don't get all defensive and start bitching because you said something you knew you would get attacked about.

Also, STFU their style was fucking awesome back then, and its still good now.

  • caleb loooks so flyy

  • i wish i could hear this song live! it's one of their best, yet they'll never play it again. its all about the new songs now :(

  • he looks so cooll:D

  • i love their look at this time they are great!!!!!! hill billies haha!!!

  • This my favorite Caleb era. Pixie Caleb.

  • caleb looked amazing here. they're music was better here, and their dress style is better here. They didnt give a shit what anybody thought.

  • And now they do?

  • Comment removed

  • possibly, they all dress in matching leather jackets/outfits now. not a bad thing, but maybe to look the part.

dont get me wrong, i still love them now. i just liked the akwardness and rawness of these early performances.

also, pixie caleb is fucking epic.

  • Yeah, I have to admit I´m one of those "new" fans.

But still I know all of their old songs now!

  • the crowd piss me off; if only knew what they were listening to!

  • amazing!

  • no...it was great as it was

  • it looked cool

  • that hair is damn awesome (the long hair)

  • Paul, it won't take long livin in the city for the summer to come

  • Chorknation, you have read my mind,

  • I think he's saying but not Paul

  • yeah because you can tell... fool

  • Caleb is very stoned in this.

  • kol were better before there new album came out. I hate all the sex on fire fans.

  • you're right, they were so much better. they looked and sounded so much better. gritty rock and roll

  • Comment removed

  • word.

aha shake heartbreak was still fucking amazing though

  • 2:42

  • what is he saying there, never heard that before

  • God! I love this video! The energy, the music; this performance is Bad A!@!

  • lovin the blue top

    goes well with sunburst guitar

  • kol and the fuckin gang .... rockin!

  • mazyrun09

Clever "Kool and the Gang" reference!

  • Glad u liked it anette ! One of the best Kol tunes !

  • temazoo jodeeer!. temamen chavalada!

  • rockin!

  • It's just fucking genius i mean like ages fomr now if they did a best of record they'd have to put every song in hahah

  • for sure man, can't name one that would be left out.

  • I love how he adds new lyrics at 2.44-. I think he's singing: "But it won't take long. Living and a sleeping with a thumb and a comb".

  • O yeah hahaha

  • I fucking love this song, especially the way he sings "just how crazy young love can be" .. But can anyone tell me what he says in the beginning and what he improvs after "they're gonna find our song..." ? Thanks.

  • the beginning is- on my way, so it seems, blooming flowers waltz before me, after he sings about finding our song goes onto chorus hope this helps lol

  • thanks man, but i meant is what he's saying between 0:09 and 0:13, and 2:43 and 2:46 while he corrects his glasses, hair and then lifts his arm up :)

  • I hear: Well guys, the damn music is fixing up again

  • From a fellow Southerner (I can translate) -- "Well guys, the day of music is fixin' to begin." Meaning: "The day of music will begin soon."

  • That makes more sence. Thank you!
