  • This album isn't as good as The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me.

Do not take me wrong here, I like this album. I think it's good. But... I do not like all of Brand New's music. This song is actually not even close to my favorite. Who knows why I chose this song to post the comment on. Anyways, The Devil and God... is just better. Sounds smoother, more casual, more enjoyable.

    Blargh.

  • i dont know why im hearing that people hate this album its so awesome along with every other brand new cd and this song is one of their best

  • This album is a masterpiece and how much Brand New has grown from the pop punk Youre Favorite Weapon to the Alternative/ Grungey Daisy speaks volumes of how there is still originality in this time period which is severely lacking originality

  • Best band ever

  • does anyone else notice the grunge influence in this track?

  • my favorite band, every album is different and I love them all, but this one is their top charting album

  • what ever happened to deja entendu and your favorite weapon?

  • @PSNFodder007 I feel like I've had DAisy for a while and it's great... But I should probably give Deja Entendu a listen

  • @theedwardcunningham psh, Devil and God <

  • this guy seems to come up with the best lyrics ive ever heard. good job broseph :b

  • every album they come out with just gets better and better, that's why i love this band over every other band except red hot chili peppers

  • What this album is awesome ?

I guess you americans are just used to music that is obvious and not subtle in any way.

This album is different and very original while some of the other albums were buying into the scene at the time. If anything they've bought out, not sold out!

  • see I like the lyrics I just dont like the way he sings it so much but I do like brand new a lot

  • this is the best song on the album lyrically

  • Brand New is and will probably forever be my favourite band ever, but admittedly one or two tracks on Daisy seem to be a bit much. In a jar however; is NOT one of those.

  • i think that last part is you run a million miles if you want first prize

  • @pkbball31 id run a million miles if you were first prize

  • wow, this song has a lot of biblical references... just saying...

  • yeah so far the only good song on daisy is noro i am highly disapointed in them :( they sold out or something

  • Great Music,, Just remember not to scream and jam too hard, It drown's out the real sound that we all like

  • No one saved me from the,

    (ten year, drowning, pool)??

don't let them take my life!

where you going, let me stay tonight?

  • woops i think its:

No one saved me from the

    taking, controlling, one. (?)

don't let them take my life! (eyes?)

Where you going? Let me stay tonight!

i'd recommend listening to a live version keeping these lyrics in mind.

  • god I love this song, Im adjusting to the new aggressvie sound. Brand New, you truly delight me :)

  • @IIIEm It's amazing

  • is it just me or does this sound like its up a key from the album version??

  • wow, this is a totally different sound than their previous albums. I like it though. I don't know how I missed this album, so mad at myself. Where the hell was I?! lol

  • i just said the same thing! so unlike me to be unaware.

  • Im from where they hail from long island

I have fellowed the band and a true fan would know that this is how they started only this screaming they do is from a mature place. I think lyrics are more mature. There sound has been and will always be a woke in progress thats the beauty of this band

  • "we live in a jar and think the lids the sky.

You're hoping for a savior on your cross outside

Stars are just a million little fireflies

The sun is just a hole, it is the light outside" *awesomness*

  • *"The rooster crowed twice

    And you kissed me goodnight"

  • The 'muddled screamy parts' say:

Some one save me, Cause I

    Can't keep traveling alone.

Come with me to hide out

when there's nowhere that is safe tonight

This album is so amazing, it gives me butterflies in my stomach listening to each song and learning each lyric. SO extremely excited to see them on Saturday!

  • :D Exactly.

    vvvvvvvv

  • This album is so extraordinary. It took me a little while to get used to it, but I keep finding new moments of beauty in it.

What are you guys' guesses as to what they're saying in the muddled screamy parts? (The ???s in the lyrics). At one point I think I hear "Night can't save me."

  • Some one save me, Cause I

    Can't keep traveling alone.

Come with me to hide out

when there's nowhere that is safe tonight

  • Great song - album of the year.

  • That's because you think you're a Brand New fan and you're not.

I'm not being a dick or anything, I'm just saying.

If you're a true Brand New fan and have stuck with them since Your Favorite Weapon, you'd realize that amazing creativity of this album and the sound they're trying to make.

You probably just don't like it because this is the first album they've had without a producer.

I love Brand New, they just get better all the time.

But I'm not hating on you bro I'm just saying.

  • I agree.

  • @coolguyzak I thought Mike Sapone helped produce this album. Unless I'm wrong.

  • @coolguyzak I think I'm a brand new fan because I like Devils and Gods and Daisy... I don't like anything before that, it's a completely different genre...

  • @theedwardcunningham i disagree with that, deja entendu was far more like Devil and God than this album. Those two albums were very similar in style and same genre. This album moves away from those and is much heavier. I've put off buying it until now because I don't like shouty vocals but I thought I'd give it a go and on first listen there are a few good songs in there. Sure it will grow on me.

  • @coolguyzak Not going to lie, I am a Brand New fan, but in my opinion Your Favorite Weapon wasn't very good... but that's part of what I love about this band, they are consistently getting better and evolving!

  • Awesome :), i love the new album, not as much as Deja Entendu though

  • anyone know the old 50's kinda song in the middle?

  • that would be the hyme "on lifes high way"

  • can someone please reassure me that the CD is alot better quality than this? haha :)

  • It is, haha. And this video is keyed higher for some reason. Makes it sound way too high pitched

  • This album is so beautiful, the icing on the cake of their previous work. I've never met a Brand New song I didn't like.

  • holy shit why does everyone hate this album? its fucking gorgeous and the lyrics make my ears so very happy

  • Oh, I agree completely. Kids need to stop whining because they are tackling issues other than ex-girlfriends and dealing with a rather larger picture, like religion, philosophical concepts, and human nature. Their new stuff is brilliant. Stunning. Amazing.

  • Very, very well said.

  • @cinderelliex dont worry bro. they were saying the same shit about devil and god. give it a year. people will be cumming themselves over it

  • @cinderelliex I actuall love the album as well

  • @cinderelliex I don't think they got it.

they still want the first album that barely holds a concept.

  • @cinderelliex The lyrics make my ears happy too when I can understand them. But no hate, loving this album anyway. <3

  • I appreciate that their progressive approach. At least they haven't progressed like Silver Chair...

  • i agree here i can see alot of people not likeing this CD which is too bad bc if you give it time and really listen to the music it will speak to you and you will fall in love all over again.

  • Every Album Gets Better, I can't wait to hear every single song from Daisy live tonight in Cleveland.

  • i was there, too! where were you at? did you get swallowed in 'the cleveland river' ?

  • Wo this song sounds a lot like Alice in Chains. too cool XD!

  • this song hella grew on me. at first i didnt really like this song, but now its one of my favorites (next to sink of course)

  • i think D&G was so perfect that it was pretty much impossible to top it. but saying theyve lost their "everything" might be a little harsh. i will love these guys forever though.

  • when i first listened to this album i loved nearly everything about it, but after listening to it enough i do find i enjoy D&G quite a bit more. it was just a longer, deeper and all in all just a perfect, brilliant piece of work with songs i consider to be epics, like you won't know, limousine, and far more. with this new cd i find after i listen to all my fav tracks it really gets over with fast and (though its definitely an amazing work) its not as ...well, as epic. Nov. 24th--rochester FTW

  • More Biblical references: "The rooster crowed twice..." and that short talking part right before the first "chorus"--if you play it backwards you hear, "the chariots shall rage in the street" Nahum 2:4. Not sure on the meaning but definitely interesting. Always something new to find on each listen--just one of the many reasons to love Brand New.

  • Truth

  • seeing them thursday....i love the new album but it would be awesome iff they played you won't know in there for me somewhere. i heard its life changing to hear them play it live....

  • I think The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me was a lot better and personally I would of liked it if they stuck with that sort of style

  • Yea, that's what I was hoping for. Oh well.

  • I agree, well I loved D&G and Deja Entendu, but this ain't my cup of tea. What's with the weird background noises on just about every track?!!??! I still love Brand New though and would love to see them in concert one day :)

  • you may find it funny but to me it sounds like "stoned in your eyes", I'm pretty sure about this.

  • dude dont go on a video about brand new and make negative comments ...everything about that album is amazing

  • Great song when you get the correct lyrics.....:D

  • Yeah the lyrics listed in the additional info are not really that great. Definately not an official copy of lyrics at all. The lyrics are kind of challenging to interpret as it may be "Storms in your eyes" but everything strongassstuntman is right.

  • we live in a jar and think the lids the sky...

maybe i should rest but on the seventh day....

this has to be my fav on the cd
