I made this video five years ago as my Kresge College core course final project. I've since moved on to grad school at Columbia where I'm studying film producing, but I'm still so glad to see that so many people are finding this little project each year around college selection time.

UCSC is truly an experience. Be sure to make the most of it no matter where you end up.

Upon arrival in late 70's the checker in bookshop asked why I wanted letter grades when everyone at nearby Stanford gets all A's? Wish I knew at the time what I know now! UCSC has come a long way,as always lots of the kids go on to professional schools or the English majors go on o manage pizza joints. Some grains of truths to the stereotypes, poor inner city kids same as my time at Oakes, smart premeds etc at Crown and spoiled rich mostly lazy ones from Bay area. Can't beat proximity to UCB/SF

The majority of people at UCSC are way too chill to care about cliches or to stereotype you. You'll have an awesome time at UCSC no matter what college you're at. I freaked out at first after choosing Cowell and hearing later that it was the "jock/prep/poser/abominable snowman/whatever" dorms- it wasn't, and I had the best time ever (plus my room had the best view on campus).

UCSC's big on equality and not judging other people. That's why its college and not high school, people. ;)

I fucking love UCSC..'Ba film and digital 2001'...best freaking years of my life, we studied hard, we partied hard...best uc, better than berkeley and ucla due to it's location! nestled against the beach plus a beautiful redwood forest..ever been in that weird cave a ways offf of Porter? all sorts of treasures like that.
