  • what episode is this??

  • I like Scarlett Johansson as Mary Boleyn more than Mary in The Tudors

  • @ZZZANNAMARIYZZZ

Hm, perhaps. Scarlett Johansson is a good actress. But the way she portrayed Mary in the Other Boleyn Girl and the way they have this actress portray Mary in the Tudors, which is much closer to the truth than the movie, is entirely different. Johansson for Mary Tudor two times with different depictions? It'll look WAY off, and she might not be able to do the Tudors chracterization.

  • This is amazing, through and through.

  • lovely dress shes wearing!

  • I HATE Thomas Boleyn, and Anne gets on my nerves sometimes. How can she banish her own sister for falling in love? She chose love over wealth and power. Last time I checked, that was the PROPER THING TO DO!

  • @CatieCass,

You don't live in XVI century, do you?

And you are not the sister of the Queen of England, are you?

    Please, think historically...

  • @SnarkedGirl Okay, I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't think there was anything wrong or inaccurate with my comment. Please enlighten me if you're such a genius.

  • @CatieCass Historically speaking, Mary's case would never be accepted in the Royal Court. Love mattered very little when your political position and reputation was on the line.

In a way, though, I think Anne's banishment of Mary is more of a way of setting her free from both her father and the Court. She's suffering under her father's influence and the Court's and because she clearly loves her sister, she banishes her, but at the same time she is free from being her father's tool to gain power.

  • @FantasmaLuna Hmm...I suppose you do have a point there. Yes, I suppose Anne did do Mary a favor in a way. Nicely put. =)

  • @CatieCass haha. that is an ironic thing to say. Anne loved Henry and he threw it in her face. so marrying for love as the proper thing, didn't really serve Anne there. u really need to look at things before spouting out stupid statements. Many people have arranged marriage and they survive just as long as a long marriage..in my culture anyway!

  • @pansyanddraco Okay...you completely missed what I said there. But, are you feeling better now that you satusfied your need to insult my intelligence? I hope so. Have a good day!

  • @CatieCass wow u must have an unfortunately high opinion of yourself to think random people are out to get you. if i wanted to insult your intelligence, making a small observation about a tv series would hardly be "satisfactory". and as for more material,u are free to keep it to urself. i have no desire to hear from you. i simply wrote a comment. good day to u too! :)

  • @pansyanddraco "u really need to look at things before spouting out stupid statements." Yeah. You know, there are more polite ways to disagree with people. But whatever. You know best, I suppose.

  • @pansyanddraco **satisfied** Just figured I would catch my typo rather than give you more material.

  • So sad. 1st, Thomas uses her to gain power by having her sleep w/ Henry/then disowns her cuz she chose love over wealth/power. But, she wins in the end. Pretty much all the Boleyns are executed/dead within a few short years of each other/she inherits everything (family fortunes/estates/etc) & lives to an old age w/ the man she loves. I think Mary finally had had enough w/ being used for political gain/chose her own path. I have a lot of respect for her. In that time, it took a lot of courage.

  • Marys outfit is just horrid...

  • Poor Mary...I feel sad for her....

  • i liked the other boleyn better, no offense though

  • Stupid selfish father and what a mess. Anne should have exercised her authority and forgiven her over her stupid meddling father.

  • @TheNuharoo

You should realize this series is only LOOSELY based on these events. Thomas was nowhere near as evil as The Tudors portrayed him

  • Thumbs up if you hate Thomas Boleyn!

  • Thomas Boleyn: the world's biggest jackass. Although Mary is quite lucky to be forced from court; when the Boleyns fell, who knows what would have happened to her if she had stayed?

  • @iluvwinterweather The biggest pimp daddy of them all!! When all is said and done, he'll have only Mary and her children, what an immoral ASS. Mary should have given them a big smile and said "Well, Ok then." She was the "most lucky"

  • @iluvwinterweather That's very true. My dad and I love this show, and he's done much reading and research on Henry VIII and his six wives. He's said to me before: "the best thing to do in those days, if you were not royalty, was to stay away from court." In the end, Mary was the most fortunate. Anne kind of did her a favor, actually.

  • I admire Mary for being a woman who followed her heart instead of being a pawn in her fathers plots for wealth and position. She very well could have suffered the same fate as her brother and sister if she followed her fathers orders, but because she took her fate into her hands, she lived the longest of the Boleyns and lived a happy life with William.

  • I respect Mary Boleyn for marrying a man that she loved. Yes, some women had no choice in some situations & yes, marriage did mean something different in that time period, but I still think that she did the right thing for herself.

  • Poor Anne, she's trying so hard to be nice and understanding but you can tell she's totally anxious.

  • Anne seems upset by her choice but from what I've read she does support Mary throughout her life, giving what she can so Mary can have some money.

  • Anne & Mary's father is so insanely greedy!!!!!! Poor Mary!

  • so mean anne and her dad thought themselfs better then they were

  • Hah! Well the last laugh is on those two! Anne and George would be executed and Thomas banished in disgrace for the greed and ambition of their family while Mary lived happily with a good husband and her children.

  • Anne would have some nerve to get mad at Mary for being a "whore."

  • What a great scene! That was the best acting I've seen from the actress that plays Mary Boleyn. Mary's banishment from court was a blessing in disguise. She wasn't around when the shit finally came down on Anne, her brother and her father. Interesting note here though is that Anne later on did relent a little and sent some money to Mary, though Mary and her husband remained banished from court.

  • 2:15- 2:17

You can see Anne does feel pity for Mary

You have to put yourself in a political situation, bainishing her was the only "proper punishment"

I see a lot of you are bagging Anne out for this but Annes actions show that she was very lenient on her sister. Anne had the power to have her sisters marriage anulled ( due to Henry being the Supreme Head of the church)... But she didnt.

  • I love Anne Boleyn but this was the worst thing anne did! But i guess anne just reacted that way beacause of their father

  • In the end Mary was the lucky one, she married a man who loved her and lived a quiet life, unlike her sister. I hate how weak she seems in the series

  • juztudor! check out the season 4 promo in showtime's website!!! it's great :)

  • Yeah, I know. I saw it too! And i can't wait

  • That's fine, she was better off without them.

  • i would never have him as a father, he is so cruel....

  • Poor Mary I feel so sorry for Annes sister.

  • That's okay, Anne got what was coming to her.

  • I feel so sorry for Annes sister. her own sister banished her!

  • @Schaetzchen95 Actually Thomas forced Anne to expel Mary from the court so Mary was banished not by own sister Mary was banished her own father.

I'm sorry for possible errors I don't know Еnglish grammar very well.

  • @ZZZANNAMARIYZZZ

your english is good than mine

  • she plays the character well but Anne Boleyn...she can eat her own words. she had her head cut off cuz she wanted too much. greed will chew you up and then spit you back out.

  • @MissChowChow84 Her head was cut off because she was falsely accused of sleeping with multiple other men whilst Henry slept around as he pleased.

  • keep cool its a movie

  • thank you

  • This is a fantastic scene. Watch Anne's face throughout this. She's following her father's wishes more than her own. You can tell that it pained her to do it, but she did it to avoid incuring her father's wrath. Sad what greed and power does to people, but this scene is amazing. The music is especially great as Mary begs for her sister's help.

  • Yes, indeed. Yet, on the other hand, on another point of view, she might be helping Mary to escape the clutches of their father. If I'm not mistaken, Mary's daughter, Catherine Carey, became Elizabeth I's Chief Lady of the Bedchamber... Maybe, Anne somehow knew that she was heading for the chopping block eversince Elizabeth was born.

  • i like this point of view, it makes me feel better of of Anne

  • Yeah, it took me quite a while to figure out the other side of Anne's actions.

  • @JuzTudor70AD sorry if i sound stupid, but what do you mean "other side of her actions" ?

  • @mascaragirl818 I meant the other reason of why Anne banished her sister though I'm not sure whether Anne historically intended to get her sister away from their father's clutches. In the end, I'm glad that Mary Boleyn escaped the chopping block. For all we know, she might be dragged into with that fake incest charge too!

  • she rocked

  • that is so true Anne BoleynHero they should have let her choose who she wanted to marry cuz she did give her self to two powerful men of two powerful countries in europe back then.

  • i know what you mean, i love anne but this was harsh on mary. but in the end, this banishment ment mary was one of the last boleyns to survive annes later downfall... so marys punishment from anne was kinda a sheild?

  • yeah i do see your point but when the boleyns were out of henry's court mary just lived out in the coumtry side of england with her children so she would stay out of her former brother-in-law's court but i did read some books that said that mary boleyn and princess elizabeth had some contact but yeah mary was in an armour and didn't get striked in the head.

  • This was the only thing I did not like Anne doing, Mary did everything for her family. She slept with King Francis of France; she slept with the King of Engalnd and took with child. The least they could do is let her marry her choice

  • Mary Boleyn did not have Henry's child. Henry claimed his bastard son, Henry Fitzroy, to prove that he was capable of siring a male heir. He never claimed Mary's son as his own. By the time that Mary gave birth to her son, Henry had already taken an interest in her sister. "The Other Boleyn Girl" is not an accurate novel. The only truth in the novel are the names and dates, most of what Phillippa Gregory claims to have happened can be easily dismissed as fiction.

  • At least, Mary is the only one Boleyn that do the right thing. That save her life.

Anne does a thing like this, because now she's the one that Boleyn's use for their interestes. She has to act like this..

  • poor mary,

  • yeah, at least she's outlived the rest of her ambitious family ...

  • In this clip I expected Anne to explode with anger
