The vast majority of the songs are ethnic-influenced up-tempo acts, ethnic ballads (usually much darker sounding), and loads of pop acts.
To quote Sir Terry Wogan after Katrina and the Waves performed in Dublin in 1997: "If the UK doesn't win it with that, we should fold our tents and quietly steal away."

She's seems a bit more confident this week, which is good. I'm hoping she gets her breath control sorted for the first bit, so it sounds a lot smoother. Am glad she won the UK show - she was the best of the bunch from the outset

The beginning was horrible. There's no other way to describe it... but how spectacularf was the ending! It was brilliant at the end... truly amazing. And the backing track has a bit of added piano I see... So ALW doesn't look like a fool playing nothing.
