In other words: In the instance of fate: If it's already DECIDED for me what will happen in my life, then nothing I can do will be able to prevent it from happening. With free will, you can decide to move to Kentucky instead of New Orleans which ends up with you avoiding a tsunami. If your fate was to die in a tsunami, it would definitely happen.

God wanted to show them that love is more important than knowledge, but they chose wrong which brought the knowledge of sin into the world. I don't blame God for this...he didn't open the door to sin. Adam was our leader. As in today's world: when a leader makes a decision, we are all affected.

@FatLingon These 10 questions DID attack a position that the opponent (Christian) does not hold. For example: assuming all people are good. Christians do not hold this position. The question on why bad things happen to good people is invalid to a Christian because...like already explained: we don't believe people are good in the first place. That is what makes that question and the others a clear cut definition of a strawman.

To spell it out. The question assumes most Christians hold the position that God is all loving and all powerful(tell me if this is where the strawman resides). So, then the mystery is, why does this all loving and all powerful God allow good people to be killed in the millions by earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, tornadoes, ice storms etc?

@FatLingon He doesn't dodge the question. It is simply unanswerable. If I asked you, "Why do unicorns eat spaghetti?" I'm sure you won't be able to answer this for the simple fact that you probably don't even believe in unicorns in the first place. This applies to the question geared at Christians: "Why do bad things happen to good people?" It's a strawman because it's unanswerable to us. The moment I attempt to answer this, the person who asked it has already trapped me.

@LadyMidnightBluu I'm a little lost in what you mean in this response. Tell me what of these statements you do not agree with.
A) God is All Loving
B) God is All Powerful
C) Natural disasters kills good people
If you agree to all 3, then there is a mystery of why an all loving, all powerful God lets this take place. It's not your obligation to come up with an answer to explain this mystery. But I have a hard time seeing how A+B+C aren't problematic to your belief.

@FatLingon I do NOT agree with Statement C. Why? For the simple fact that I do not believe in "good people". Does this mean I feel no sympathy for people lost in a natural disaster? OF COURSE NOT! Your standard of a good person is gravely different from what God sees as good. According to Him...the only thing that is good is Himself. It would be wrong to attach God-like qualities to people. So to sum it all up...ABC are not problematic to me since I do not BELIEVE in statement C.

@FatLingon All loving means to love unconditionally no matter what. God IS Love. Of course natural disasters are capable and do kill people. Just because God does not interfere with every single life-threatening event does not mean he is evil. He promised us free will, and that is what we have. Only time he will step is for guidance and support through troubling times when we ask for it in His name and complete faith and if it's in God's Will.

@LadyMidnightBluu Is it conceivable that an all powerful God could make a place that are not subject to natural disasters? Cause I can't see how natural disasters improve at all on what choices I can make in life. Natural disasters are known to end lives, and thus severely restricting those individuals free will.
I do everything in my power to see to it that the people I love are safe from things I know can harm them. I'm not all powerful, God is, and he appears to do nothing.
