I'm trying to learn how to photograph products like shoes and clothing. I use a white background and 4 lamps. The setting that I have been using is "manual". However the pictures I take come out really dark, so the only way I'm able to get a decent photo is by decreasing shutter speed which leaves me sometimes with blurry photos. What setting would be best if working with lights and white background?
imo nikon and Canon are equal in DSLR land. On the other hand Nikon P&S kinda of suck from my experience. The best point in shoots imo are from panasonic, and panny makes good DSLRs, but not as good as canon
Im not biased towards Canon or anything, but my grandmother and I were travelling in Italy with our older Canon point and shoot shoot camera, which is about 4 years old. For the second time, the camera got crazy, and kept shutting off after loading. It had already been through a complete lcd failure. Idk, Im glad I didnt miss the great town of Siena when the camera failed, it finally turned back on. Never will I buy another untested Canon product again, im going with Nikon
If you were biased towards Canon, you'd prefer Canon over Nikon. You didn't use the word "Bias" right. If you've had horrible times with Canon, you'd say, "I'm not biased towards Nikon or anything..." English 101 is now over...
depends on ur budget; i know only of nikon d60-80s which are comparable, (but as i told you i find 450d somewhat better); but then there are better ones like canon 40d/mark ii etc
for nikon vs canon its best to see and compare some shots for urself as ur the one paying for it :)
i hate looking for cameras there are so many cameras that is close to eachoter some are better some are worse, im looking for something that will be fun to use and takes good images
The lens, not the camera, determines what the depth of field will be. An aperture of F2.0 will mean that only your subject will be in focus (and everything else will be blurred), while and aperture of F22 will mean that everything will be in focus.
Lower f/ numbers aren't always better. In fact, most lenses are sharpest from f/8-11. Aperture should deal directly with DOF, not predetermined for the days shoot.
Hey, can anyone of you help me? when i bought my nikon d60 i realised there were some scratches when i looked through the viewfinder, and it appears that the scractches are from the focusing lens inside the cameras body right above the mirror. does normal warranty cover it? or must i just get a new focusing lens? i just got my nikon d60 today :(
The warranty will totally cover it IF it is in fact the focusing lens and not your fault. Almost all cameras in that class come with a year warranty standard - but that's not protection against accidental breakage. Take it back to your camera shop or send it back to wherever you got it from. (PS- your message counts as spam because you sent it 4 times)
Lucky, for some extra money, 85 euros in my case, you get a 3 year warranty for whatever happends with the camers, even if you drop it in the ocean! .. but ok, that happends in just a few country's and it's not a warranty from canon it's from the shop where you buy it!
getting the XSi for my wedding present over the 40D, i know that most people would recomend the 40D over the XSi but i dont need the extra features :P

nikon d 60 isnt in the same league as 450d
miracledrug5150 2 years ago 7
which is the best of those two?
lillen300 2 years ago
quite similar but i prefer canon for image sharpness / quality (when compared via same lense)
Hanamichi80 2 years ago
ok well is there any other camera that can be compared to the 450d
lillen300 2 years ago

lillen300 2 years ago
yea and the more u see .. the less u'll decide!
from your reaction i think that a semi-slr is best in your case. Choose one which has a high zoom in it to enjoy it even more. (400mm equivalent)
try something like fuji's s8100 - quite neat for a beginner; or maybe something "more" like canon sx10.
sometimes i wish i bought a semi instead of slr because of expenses :(
Hanamichi80 2 years ago
well i would like a camera that is a bit professional but that i am still able to learn, perhaps the 40d?
lillen300 2 years ago
40d > 450d even tho with less resolution
the least fully slr by canon is a 1000d
maybe you try that?
Hanamichi80 2 years ago
well wish to try the one that is the best, well depth of field is an important thing?
lillen300 2 years ago
if u like out of focus background/foreground it is; but thats obtained from the lense, more then the body itself.
Hanamichi80 2 years ago
well i wish to have all in focus if i can XD want to be able to see the details in the enviroment but still maybe choose what i want to put in focus
lillen300 2 years ago
which has best depth of field, 40d or 450d
lillen300 2 years ago
dof is obtained from the lens
40d / 450d is just a camera body
Hanamichi80 2 years ago 3
which is the best if i would use the same lens on them and same mode exposure and everything which camera will give better quality
lillen300 2 years ago
theyre basically the same
the major diff. is 40d has stronger body
but i prefer 450d
Hanamichi80 2 years ago
more build quality in the 40d and 3 custom modes, but the 450d has better resolution
lillen300 2 years ago
