the commercial would be funnier if the dog would eat hes head off and after that gets in jail where he starts to play piano and becomes famous just like Mike Tyson and it turns out that the dog was Mike Tyson's cellmate and Tyson was inspired by the dog. so they did a band named "Tyson The Casio Dog". after which record label "Shady Records" signed them and day after the dog ate the whole Mike Tyson and the dog had to play alone after that. so he figured to shoot himself dead! and so he did!
I don't remember the piano sounding as real as that on mine. Also, I think it was only 4 key polyphonic. The bit depth of the dog sample sounded quite high too. Or maybe it really did sound that good on mine... No, I'm sure that was dubbed to get people to but it.
When I was 10 years old or so my friend down the street got one of these for Christmas. Our favorite thing to do with it was to make fart noises (or actually fart) into the sampling microphone and then play it back with the keys either really high pitched or really low pitched.
i painted mine blue and purple with silver buttons. i circuit bent it too. sometimes at night when I'm lonely and bored I make it garble evil noises while i have sex with it.
i bought one of these from a thrift store for 50 cents when i was younger and it worked wonderously up until a few months ago :( i found someone with the same problem but no solution. it powers up even with the switch set to off and no sound comes out. speaker is fine too. wish i knew the problem cause i love playing with it.

Casio keyboards really SUCKS...! I had one the CTK 610 and lasted only 4 years 2 of them good and the rest failing over and over. the main issue whas that its CPU stopped its clock and avoid the input values of several keys giving mute answers when played. Made good stuff but not to last...! Iwon't buy another one..EVER....!
I still have mine, and it works perfectly to this day. Oh, the fun we used to have recording "Al Capone" into it and prank calling this one kid and scaring him with it! We were 13-14 years old at the time. Ah, miss those days LOL
I got my Sk-1 when I was 4 and the keyboard was 8 years old at that point. now it is at least 20 years old and showing no signs of slowing down I still play it to this day mostly for shits and giggles sometimes you stumble upon a cool beat or melody though and that is lots of fun.
I got one of these a few days ago from a garage sale for 5 bucks... The lady sure didn't look happy :D I'm having tons of fun with it. Yay old electronics!
I bought mine c. 1988, a floor model... played it for years (as a companion to the Hammond M-102 Organ/Leslie 760 I still play). I was knocked out by its' having an on-board mike... 'TWAS the era of sampling, and all...
I was quoting the last sequence, the bit where he plays with two hands with the camera ontop of it. That has nothing to do with multi-track recording. Oh and it has only 4 polyphony even.
Ok, i got mine at a thrift shop, and I was lucky because the 2 I have are mint, but depending on where you live you may not be able to find them, so the internet is the only option and you will probably end up paying alot for them...
I always saw this on the "Japanese Show" on weekend nights on WNJU-47 (now Telemundo). Can anyone find the Japanese cat food commercial that aired on it too?
First time I was introduced to multi-track recording on a keyboard. (It had 2 channels btw).
First time I could delete a wrong recorded note, (in a step recording mode)
First time I could replay the entire revised recording using the one and only "1 key play" feature.
Just wonder why this feature is no where to be found nowadays. Sigh
This was really a little wonder. I used to use a spoon and tap on a glass to sample the sound and play it back. All that in 1987!

Video says:
Sound track created with multi-track recording.
That means:
You cannot do that all with just the keyboard

That's exactly what i did, sampling the dog with the sk-1. Also playing a break on a tape or record real fast and sampling it!
Damce 2 years ago
anyone notice the SK-1 logo on the back of the keyboard thats not actually there on the real deal?
not to mention the fact that thats not even the actual piano sound you get from the thing
still, its a cute commercial for a keyboard i happen to love playing around with and having laying around :D
