I also think the manual top is ridiculous. The additional weight in THIS particular model isn't going to make much difference as few will buy this car to spend aggressive weekends at the track.
IMO this is probably the purest sports car you can buy. Fantastic. Not a fan of the regular boxster at all, but this thing is excellent. Great modern representation of the original Spyder.

The 350z is more fun to drive imho, and with all the modifications I can do to it it can have 900hp, or be a track day super star... Id rather have a Z than a pretend porsche.

I've owned a Cayman, a 911S, and now a Boxster, and the Boxster is the most fun of the three (the 911 will always be my favorite, though not the most enjoyable outside of the track). I recently had a chance to sit in the new Boxster Spyder. Wooo it is low to the ground. I love that it has red ribbons that you yank instead of door handles.
The Cayman S is still my preferred ride but this was pretty sweet too.
The same day I was at the dealership some guy came in looking kinda shabby like he hadn't showered in 2 days. Leaves the dealership with an orange GT3. Had a chance to talk briefly with him, cool guy.

I've owned a Cayman, a 911S, and now a Boxster, and the Boxster is the most fun of the three (the 911 will always be my favorite, though not the most enjoyable outside of the track). My next car will be a Boxster Spyder; I've been won over to the Boxster/Cayman axis (a lifelong 911 loyalist, I intially resisted their allure).

I recently had a chance to sit in the new Boxster Spyder. Wooo it is low to the ground. I love that it has red ribbons that you yank instead of door handles.
The Cayman S is still my preferred ride but this was pretty sweet too.
The same day I was at the dealership some guy came in looking kinda shabby like he hadn't showered in 2 days. Leaves the dealership with an orange GT3. Had a chance to talk briefly with him, cool guy.
