Wow I'm surprised that Dead Space 2 beat out Battlefield 3. DS2 had excellent sound and I'm not disappointed cause I'm a big DS fan and to me DS had the best sound until I played Bad Company which was mind blowing! I haven't played Battlefield 3 yet but I'd imagine the sound is even better than BC which is why I'm surprised.

To be totally honest, ive not played DS2 so i cannot comment on its sound design. However BF3 had absolutely phenomenal sound design, as it always done. They even went to great lengths to record actual gun, vehicle, and animal sounds for their game. The dedication and execution really nailed it

@TheUlrayx you have to factor in voice acting and atmosphere aswell. A lot of bf3s sounds are quite bland, which is a shame seeing as they should have been a lot better. A lot of the guns and practically all of the AT launchers sound almost identical, not to mention the fact that the voice acting is rather sub-par, while in dead space, they've captured the exact sound and emotion of being trapped in space and all its horror.
