How does this work? Is he accelerating downwards during the roll, or is this actually the centrifugal force keeping the liquid in the cup? For the latter to be working, wouldn't the rotational axis of the roll have to be above the cup, at the ceiling of the cockpit? (so the force actually points towards the floor in the plane's frame of reference, not towards the ceiling) Does this mean that this experiment would not work in a low-wing plane?
@hyperthreaded It is the downwards acceleration, not centrifugal force due to rotation. He is beginning the maneuver by pitching the nose up, then he begins the roll. He maintains positive "G" throughout he roll, although in the inverted position it is only partial "G". You would feel light in your seat during the roll, but there would be no tendency to float out of your seat. When he finishes the roll, he is pointing somewhat nose down as a result of holding the positive "G". Hope this helps.

@flunkn70 I DONT CARE ABOUT DIS.To proove what? that i am a great pilot? that i could fly a plane upside down ? I just expressed my thought a "a matter of physik" Now if you want to use a plane to performe circus show ! Go ahead.Make my day ! You asshole.Remember the AIR FRANCE FLIGHT rio -Paris last year? The fucking pilot was ONE OF THE BEST,HE "COULD FLY A PLANE TRU A SQUALL LINE" Right? Well today his bone lay 6 miles undergroud after beeind devored by sea creature! ass Hole You !
PE = mgh, and that's all you need to fly with no power.

It's just a matter of Law of physic, not the aircraft performance.A weel coordinated roll in ANY airplane will do the trick !
