i have the htc hd and touch diamond and the iphone 3gs, txting is the easiest on the iphone, the iphone is an apps phone, the htc is a true smart phone, its like having a laptop but its a phone, txting without the stylus is alittle tricking but managable

I've just checked out this phone in my locale T-Mobile store. Its a brick, guess ive been spoiled by the small size of the original touch diamond as its hardware core is based on a more modern version of the Qualcomm CPU as apposed to this new phone with older hardware, what's with that ? I'm sticking with my original touch diamond, a software update will give me most of the new features

capacitive doesn't have you push the screen in a lil resistive has the screen push in just a lil

Resistive screen uses pressure there is a couple layers that when you press on the screen the top film touch the bottom fil on so on which "pushes bottons". Capacitive uses static electricity from you that why capacitive IE Iphone you cant have gloves on or anything over your hands and the resistive you its just pressure

It's really easy, you just put in your hotmail account and password and it will automatically configure it for you.

Unlocked means that a phone can be used on more than one network. If a phone is a GSM phone and is unlocked it can be used on AT&T or T-Mobile. If it is a CDMA phone and unlocked then it can be used on either Verizon or Sprint.

W/ carrier prob. puts Diamond 2 @ $200 -$300 (Diamond is $200) & that's still pricey/it costs too much. And HTC Pro cost $300. Nice phones but ridiculoulsy high!!

Palm Pre is $200 & Instinct Phone is only costs $50, both w/ contracts .And you can get Blackberry(s) for $160. So, these phones are mice but definitely too pricey

If you're on a AT&T/T-Mobile, data plans aren't required I believe. So if you don't need data, the HTC phones are actually a pretty decent deal overall. That said, Winmo and HTC really needs to up their game, the Hero looks to be a step in the right direction. (It runs Android though)

Okay well first off windows mobile is HORRIBLE... had to throw that out there...but as for the iPhone, it may not have been the first smartphone, but it's the first fully functional media/business/casual use smartphone that is actually decent. When you include the apple App store you really have something that has greatly affected the cellular phone market as we know it and has truly changed the nature of future cell phones.

True FroYo44, but with modern resistive touch screens the sensitivity and accuracy of single touch (resistive doesn't have multi touch) is very close to that of capacitive screens... In fact, most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference for single touch use! haha

@FroYo44 That's not completely true. Resistive and Capacitive displays are different, and work as you said. But it's not true that capacitive displays are more precise than resistive, since u can use capacitive display only with your fingers while resistive you can use with anything you want (stylus is much thiner than finger, so it is somehow logical that it is more precise). Also capacitive displays have much faster response and have ability of multi-touch (which resistive don't have)

Ive got the touch HD (very similar to diamond2) and htc magic, and the magic is so much better. SO my advice for anyone contemnplating a diamond2 or a magic, wait for the magic, it totally blew me away.

Was over my friends house helping her with making an mp3 her ringtone for her iphone (which surprisingly complex for a seemingly easy task). While using her iphone for a couple of hours. It made me realise how much I like this phone because it just makes sense in how it works. Can't wait to see what HTC comes up with next.

This is a very nice device. I'm not a huge fan of Windows Moblie, because I have a Blackjack and it takes a big chink of time to load up and start up. But otherwise, this is a beautiful looking phone, alot nicer looking than the 1st HTC touch.
