I'm an African American male and a huge believer of Dr. MLK's philosophies, but I think he is probably looking down at this very moment unimpressed. At $120m you could have given 500 black kids full 4 year scholarships or even built 10 community centers in the countries highest crime areas. With all the schools, libraries, streets, postages and even a holiday, King will never be forgotten. Too many black kids are gunned down to spend money on such nonsense. This wont get us to the mountain tops.

Based on financial considerations, it is unfortunate that this statue was "Made in China." Chinese granite was used eventhough there were petitions from American Granite workers and Human Rights activists. Lei Yixin, an artist from the People's Republic of China, would carve the statue. Why is it that China and not American workers not involved in this project...this "American Dream" project.

Gee, I can't SEE any Native Americans or Mexican Americans in this table AD. WHY? The narrative keeps erasing Native Americans and Mexican Americans and some are more prominent (in AD/media) that you would think we were in another continent. Thanksgiving Day, there is no mention of Native Americans, in Civil Rights there is no mention of Mexican Americans yet history/legal cases are there.
