you cant listen to these guys they are paid by that company,,im gonna stick to dark matter,,i doubt this shits any better and insu pro has waxy maize in it too so they are full of shit
hey this stuff is 50$ for like 16 servings, that adds up considering i lift/cardio 6 days a week, do you have any suggestions for a tighter budget? my original plan was going to be to take syntha-6 when i wake up before breakfast and then take whey after i workout, but as you said i need the fast acting carbs, is there a way to do this without using insu-pro?
Great video! Hey would this be a good supplement to take after a cardio session. And what would you suggest to take in the morning to replenish the muscle after a long night of sleep!
After a workout when you are trying to build muscle would it be better to just eat the right foods?? Or take a supplement like this instead, or do both?? Thanks.
hey guys.. i really enjoy your videos.. ive been dieting since september, i weighed 233 then, i am currently at 192.. ive been wondering what the best protein supplement for me would be.. so i can keep losing weight and gain more muscle.. ive been drinking the GNC Lean Shakes but i was wondering if there was something better.. i like your review on insu-pro so im gonna try that for postworkouts.. please help :)
@krey175 we are not big on dark matter as it is a free from amino acid supplement and has waxy maize starch as the carbohydrate source. The liver limits the amount of free form amino acids allowed in the blood stream at any given time and waxy maize is an inferior carb source that ironically costs more. Hope this helps.
i take 1 scoop of ON gold standard 2 (serving size) scoops of xtend. 3-6 grams of creatine. " bannans and 1 1/2 Table spoon of honey. What do you guys think of that?? please respond
@krillzhd if you are taking the Whey you don't need to add Xtend as there are plenty of BCAAs in the whey. the carb source is OK, ideally you'd want something that absorbs faster but that is a good alternative. So overall you can save some money by not adding the Xtend, otherwise it should do the trick.
@BestPriceNutrition what about Cytogainer, Mutantmass, monster mass and real gains (saw the reveiw but not sure rather or not to buy it.) Can you recomend any of those.
@ThePhatIndian it should do the trick however we are not big on all of that fructose, one b/c it has a glycemic index and two it is bad for you as we take in far more fructose than at anytime in our history (send us a PM is you want more details on that). Hope this helps.
@BestPriceNutrition Okay thx for the advice, but then what would you recomend for post-workout nutritun (from your site). My ideal goal is to to get "lean and cut" so serious mass i probably not the best option. (sorry for my spelling)
@krillzhd no worries. We are happy to help. The Serious Mass would be counter productive due to all of the calories. If you are lookign for a specific post workout the Insu Pro we reviewed here is very good. Even if you are trying to get lean we recommend keeping the carbs in your post workout shake and cutting them elsewhere. Hope this helps.
@krillzhd not sure what country you are in but if you are in Europe CNP Pro Recover is good or you could get a whey protein isolate and dextrose and mix them together.
@FloydIV it's ok but almonds will slow absorption due to the fat and fiber and greek yogurt has in tact casein protein which absorbs slowly. This is not to say these are bad foods, rather they are good but they are just not ideal post workout. Hope this helps.
Hi. I'm 6'5 and 160 lbs and I want to get up to around 190-200 lbs. It's been hard to gain weight as I've grown and I've been pretty skinny my entire life hahah. But I play basketball for probably 2-3 hours a day at college (pick up games-not actually on the team) and I usually workout after I play. What should I buy and/or eat so that I can gain weight in a reasonable amount of time. Also, I don't want anything with creatine because of the side effects (stress, water weight). Thank you!
@narcki5 sorry for the delayed reply we missed your comment. As for your question we have a video, how to gain weight/how to gain muscle that addresses your question. If you go to our YouTube home page you will see it in our videos list. If you have any questions after watching feel free to send them and we will answer.
@TheMan16111 depends on body weight. We recommend getting a 2 to 1 ratio of carbs to protein. Assuming you had an intense training session and you are ~160-200 lbs something like 50g carbs and 25g of protein would be good. Too much protein immediately following training will slow absorption. Hope this helps.
hello.so should i add this post workout to my calorie total if i want to lean out?should i add whey protein to this post workout or will ill be good just with the protein in this?
@LuckyPkerz the protein in this is plenty as you do not want too much protein immediately following training. Yes you should include this in your calorie count. If you are trying to get lean out you can cut back calories in other meals if need be as you really want to get a good insulin spike post workout especially when you are leaning out. Hope this helps.
@sonher2004 yes as post workout should include carbs and protein whether you are trying to gain or lean out. One would adjust their calorie intake in other meals to make up the difference for leaning out.
Just got the watermelon flavor, pretty good. Should I add BCAA? Didnt see a list of all the bcaa as I see on my protein shake and I heard it is very important to take ur amino after working out. Love the site by the way!!!
@melocarina thank you for ordering with us. No you don't need BCAAs, there are 6g per serving so you are more than good there. Keep your eyes peeled as we will have our new site rolled out soon. Thanks again, we really appreciate it.
@MisterMannerisms not sure if they still make it as we have not had it for a while, iirc it was Na RALA the one from Geronova, which is a really good ingredient. I take one right now from Life Extension that has it.
@MisterMannerisms should have it back in end of next week. Not sure, we know others have carried it as we received price matches. We had to agree to a minimum advertised price as it is sold in a lot of stores so as to protect stores from discount websites. Someone else asked us the same thing a couple weeks ago. Hope this helps.
@Kaigreenefan if you are doing that you really don't need Dark Matter, as its just a blend of free form amino acids, waxy maize (which is a bad source of cabs), and various unproven forms of creatine. Bottom line is you can save some money by cutting it out of regimen. Hope this helps.
Sorry for so many questions, but how does the Cytofuse stack up against the Insupro. The website suggested it while the other is out of stock. Also, what is the deal with the Myonova company?
@MisterMannerisms you can use Myofusion w/ carbs post-workout however its not ideal. Not to say its bad its just not as fast absorbing as Insu-Pro. Cytofuse is a pretty good substitute for Insu-Pro, however Insu-Pro is the best we have seen for post-workout.
Oh yeah, I generally do a two scoop of MyoFusion after workout. Is that too much? I am doing the HST workout right now and I am currently in the 10 rep two week stage. Thanks for the help.
Hey, I am in love with MyoFusion. That said, is this optimun for post-workout? Since I love it so much, would it be okay to add sugar in the raw or maybe agave nectar in the post workout MyoFusion shake for the carbs. Or should I go with a different shake all together?
I have been researching through the internet, supplements stores and personal trainer friends for a while now regarding post workout nutrition. The ones I have been highly recommended are CNP Pro-Recover, Bio Test Surge Recovery and Optimum Nutrition Hydrowhey. How do these compare to this Insu-Pro product?
@BestPriceNutrition Hey sorry to pester you guys again but I value your opinions and reviews very highly. But I have run out of my post workout supplements so what do you guys recommend I should buy ? Bear in mind I am in the UK and this Insu-pro is not available anywhere- so I am wondering between CNP Pro-Recover and Hydrowhey? Thanks guys!
What is the time frame you should eat a meal after you have worked out if this product is what you recommned post work out. Should I not eat a meal the rest of the day after Ive worked out?
@Raquib25 it is all relative to activity level and calories taken in up to that point. That being said most people will want to eat within an hour or 2 due the fast absorbing nature of this product so you will want to stabilize your blood sugar levels with a good whole food meal. Hope this helps.
@thephenom2006 odd, you are the 2nd person to ask that in the last few days and we made this video almost a year ago. Anyways no worries on the question, we do not own Empyrean Nutrition or Insu-Pro, we really like the PeptoPro ingredient and have said as much in other videos where companies use it. Reason being is we prefer peptide bonded amino acids as they are superior to free form amino acids, plus we know they are significantly more expensive so when a company still adds them we like it.
@thephenom2006 it is called Insu-Pro, we have been out of it for a bit as they reformulated it. From what we understand we will have it back in stock in mid September.
@aznmanrugby you can opt to take more however the idea is you don't want too much protein as it will slow digestion down, you can take a larger amount of protein (food or supplement) as soon as an hour after you take your pwo. Hope this helps.
im a little confused you guys say that waxy maize starch is good for pwo on this video but on the volugro video you saw that there are no studies that say its better than dextrose/maltodextrin what is better carb source pwo waxy maize or dextrose? thanks!
@sunzfan45 that's correct, when we did this video we really focused on the protein and brushed over the waxy maize. It is not a good carb source and we go over it more in the Volu Gro video since that is the basis for the product. We will have a new review of this product since a new version is set to come out and from what we understand there is no waxy maize. Dextrose is a better option for pwo.
@BestPriceNutrition thanks for the clarification! one more question - looking at trying to find a good pwo protein i came across protein factory which makes their own protein carbs etc. they have the pepto pro but each serving has only 10g would that be enough pwo because it is predigested or should i take 2 servings which would be 20g of peptopro thanks!
@Josh23killzone54 sure if you mix it with protein (or drink protein bright before or after) that will work, ideally a fast absorbing protein such as WPI.
@BestPriceNutrition What would be the best alternative to Insu-pro? It seems pricey so what WPI or whey blend would you recommend and what carb source is best post workout? Thanks.
@BestPriceNutrition Hi, I was wondering what are the advantages of taking Insu-Pro post workout rather than a blended or whey protein shake? For the carb sources and insulin spike, can't we just eat a banana, oats, or juice along with our shake directly after working out? Thanks.
Isn't dextrose and better form of carb due to faster absorption? And can't you just add dextrose to ur typical whey protein shake and make it a post workout
@cangtam you can do that and it would make for a good pwo supplement. However many like the addition of a high molecular weight carb in addition to a very high glycemic index carb. Also Insu-Pro does have Peptopro which is a better protein for pwo than whey isolate. That being said you would certainly be Ok with dextrose plus whey. Hope this helps.
@xlancex2005 it's ok, it has a 1:1 ratio of carbs to protein, we prefer 2:1 however you could always add your own carbs, the protein source looks ok. Overall its a decent product.
@xlancex2005 the problem with Dark Matter as it is a bunch of free form amino acids which can absorb OK however they are not stable as peptides and it lacks the non-essential amino acids. Muscle Pharm Recon has no protein, it's a cheap product to make which leaves plenty of money in the budget for marketing which Muscle Pharm does best, bottom line is its a proprietary blend which is most likely pixie dusted = garbage. Hope this helps,
@TheMscott1985 we think some do, however you should buy it from us to save $. Right now we are out of it until July as the company is backordered on it :(
How would 2:1:1 recovery by optimum nutrition compare to insu pro? Is 35 grams of protein too much post workout, because you guys were talking about how too much protein might be bad post workout?
@19LastCrusader45 it depends on your body weight, if you are over say 220 that is probably OK, if you weigh less you can always take a smaller serving size to fit your needs. 2:1:1 Recovery is ok, the biggest difference is Insu-Pro has 10 grams of Peptopro which is a very good protein (degree of hydrolysis ~ 30% which is very good).
@MrTrx45o well we looked at it assuming it's Hard Mass Gainer, the carb to protein ratio is not very good, 5:1 that means in a15 lb container you are only getting 1,000g of protein where as an average 5lb whey you get ~1,900. This is important because carbs are cheap and easy to come by it's really the protein you are paying for, so make sure you are not overpaying for it. Hope this helps.
I would like to get some Insu-Pro but cant find any in the UK. I was wondering if you could recommend any similar products that meet the criteria for a good post workout shake. Thanks
@BestPriceNutrition Ok thanks for the advice, wish i could buy from you guys lol. Sorry to keep asking you questions but would you recommend PHD Nutrition Recovery 2:1. seems to have the Whey protein isolate and a decent mix of carbs with it.
I dont mean to offend anyone, but from a viewers perspective it's hard to take the advice you guys are getting when one of you looks overweight and the guy on the left (talking) looks fit but kinda average.
Know this is an old video but since it's in the post workout supplementation I thought it would be an appropriate place to ask if a banana, whey protein, and creatine would be an ideal post workout mix
What do you think about the XPI myotein protein powder? It has a triple blend of protein mixture. Do you think the myotein is a good all around supplement?
@gowthit just looked up the ingredients and this would not be an ideal post workout protein. Micellar casein is slow absorbing protein. This is not to say that it would hurt you, rather it's not ideal. Also this is an overpriced product that is really nothing special, it's mostly whey concentrate, which is a cheap ingredient (nothing wrong with it, just that it's cheap and should be price accordingly).
I just starting to use some protein shakes and i was wondering if it would be better if i would go with Myofusion for a post workout or Insu-pro......i go to the gym in the morning and the only reason im considering Myofusion for a post workout because its the best price. suggestion for a good post shake and good price? Any feedback would help.
@Thefalconsdawgs you can use Myofusion, just add carbs to it. A faster absorbing protein like Insu-Pro would be ideal but if money is an issue this will suffice.
After my workout I drink why protein. What can I do to get the extra carbs and sugar that I need after my workout? or is it best for me to stop buying 100% whey protein (that I use after my workout) and get insu-pro?
@Jojoshjohn Insu-pro would be ideal as it also contains 10g of Peptopro. However if you have whey protein or it is more affordable then you can drink something like Gatorade with it (you don't have to mix them together) for your carb source. Hope this helps.
I currently take monster amino immediately post-workout and then wait 30 minutes to take my basic 30g of Whey protein. You guys definitely know what you're talking about. Would insu-pro have a similar (or better) effect?
@tdolan121 a littel different in that Insu pro has carbs added to it. this will give an insulin spike to drive everything into your cells. Also the the nice thing about Insu-Pro is the addition of Peptpro, giving you di- and tri-peptide bonded amino acids which are much more stable than free form amino acids (Monster Amino). Hope this helps.
metabolic acidosis from consuming too much protein???? LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. After that I stopped taking what you were saying seriously....

PowerADE has carbohydrates in it, would that work?
Josh23killzone54 7 months ago
@Josh23killzone54 sure if you mix it with protein (or drink protein bright before or after) that will work, ideally a fast absorbing protein such as WPI.

Hey I'm already taking whey protein I was wondering if Xtend would be the best product for me regarding quick muscle recovery ?
lahme15 7 months ago
@lahme15 it is, however it is only available in the UK.
BestPriceNutrition 7 months ago
@BestPriceNutrition What would be the best alternative to Insu-pro? It seems pricey so what WPI or whey blend would you recommend and what carb source is best post workout? Thanks.
amtz0701 8 months ago
@amtz0701 CFM whey isolate such as Allmax Isoflex with dextrose would be a good alternative.

@BestPriceNutrition Hi, I was wondering what are the advantages of taking Insu-Pro post workout rather than a blended or whey protein shake? For the carb sources and insulin spike, can't we just eat a banana, oats, or juice along with our shake directly after working out? Thanks.
amtz0701 8 months ago
Isn't dextrose and better form of carb due to faster absorption? And can't you just add dextrose to ur typical whey protein shake and make it a post workout
cangtam 8 months ago
@cangtam you can do that and it would make for a good pwo supplement. However many like the addition of a high molecular weight carb in addition to a very high glycemic index carb. Also Insu-Pro does have Peptopro which is a better protein for pwo than whey isolate. That being said you would certainly be Ok with dextrose plus whey. Hope this helps.

@BestPriceNutrition Thanks for the fast reply but what do u think about Optimum:
After Max since Insu-Pro is out of stock on your website?
cangtam 8 months ago
@cangtam After Max is OK, Optimum also has 2:1:1 which is a popular recovery shake. Another good one is Myonova Cytofuse.
BestPriceNutrition 8 months ago
what do you think about myogenix aftershock ive read alot of good things about that for postworkout
xlancex2005 8 months ago
@xlancex2005 it's ok, it has a 1:1 ratio of carbs to protein, we prefer 2:1 however you could always add your own carbs, the protein source looks ok. Overall its a decent product.
BestPriceNutrition 8 months ago
@BestPriceNutrition is cnp's pro recover a good post workout product???
bm2g 7 months ago
what do you think of mhp dark matter or musclepharm recon? i added a scoop of protein to those and creatine to recon
xlancex2005 8 months ago
@xlancex2005 the problem with Dark Matter as it is a bunch of free form amino acids which can absorb OK however they are not stable as peptides and it lacks the non-essential amino acids. Muscle Pharm Recon has no protein, it's a cheap product to make which leaves plenty of money in the budget for marketing which Muscle Pharm does best, bottom line is its a proprietary blend which is most likely pixie dusted = garbage. Hope this helps,

How would 2:1:1 recovery by optimum nutrition compare to insu pro? Is 35 grams of protein too much post workout, because you guys were talking about how too much protein might be bad post workout?
19LastCrusader45 9 months ago
@19LastCrusader45 it depends on your body weight, if you are over say 220 that is probably OK, if you weigh less you can always take a smaller serving size to fit your needs. 2:1:1 Recovery is ok, the biggest difference is Insu-Pro has 10 grams of Peptopro which is a very good protein (degree of hydrolysis ~ 30% which is very good).
BestPriceNutrition 9 months ago
Can u give me yout opinion on a supplement called Inner Armour Hard Mass . . I want to know if i am wasting my money or not thanks.
MrTrx45o 9 months ago
@MrTrx45o well we looked at it assuming it's Hard Mass Gainer, the carb to protein ratio is not very good, 5:1 that means in a15 lb container you are only getting 1,000g of protein where as an average 5lb whey you get ~1,900. This is important because carbs are cheap and easy to come by it's really the protein you are paying for, so make sure you are not overpaying for it. Hope this helps.

Hi
I would like to get some Insu-Pro but cant find any in the UK. I was wondering if you could recommend any similar products that meet the criteria for a good post workout shake. Thanks
90Taff1 9 months ago
@90Taff1 if need be get a good whey protein isolate and mix it with simple sugars.
BestPriceNutrition 9 months ago
@BestPriceNutrition Ok thanks for the advice, wish i could buy from you guys lol. Sorry to keep asking you questions but would you recommend PHD Nutrition Recovery 2:1. seems to have the Whey protein isolate and a decent mix of carbs with it.
Thanks for the top class reviews!
90Taff1 9 months ago
@90Taff1 no problem, just checked the ingredients, it looks like a pretty good recovery product.
BestPriceNutrition 9 months ago
I dont mean to offend anyone, but from a viewers perspective it's hard to take the advice you guys are getting when one of you looks overweight and the guy on the left (talking) looks fit but kinda average.
hipointfan1 9 months ago
Know this is an old video but since it's in the post workout supplementation I thought it would be an appropriate place to ask if a banana, whey protein, and creatine would be an ideal post workout mix
LAKallday7 10 months ago
@LAKallday7 that would certainly work.

What do you think about the XPI myotein protein powder? It has a triple blend of protein mixture. Do you think the myotein is a good all around supplement?
gowthit 11 months ago
@gowthit just looked up the ingredients and this would not be an ideal post workout protein. Micellar casein is slow absorbing protein. This is not to say that it would hurt you, rather it's not ideal. Also this is an overpriced product that is really nothing special, it's mostly whey concentrate, which is a cheap ingredient (nothing wrong with it, just that it's cheap and should be price accordingly).
BestPriceNutrition 11 months ago
I just starting to use some protein shakes and i was wondering if it would be better if i would go with Myofusion for a post workout or Insu-pro......i go to the gym in the morning and the only reason im considering Myofusion for a post workout because its the best price. suggestion for a good post shake and good price? Any feedback would help.
Thefalconsdawgs 1 year ago
@Thefalconsdawgs you can use Myofusion, just add carbs to it. A faster absorbing protein like Insu-Pro would be ideal but if money is an issue this will suffice.
BestPriceNutrition 11 months ago
After my workout I drink why protein. What can I do to get the extra carbs and sugar that I need after my workout? or is it best for me to stop buying 100% whey protein (that I use after my workout) and get insu-pro?
Jojoshjohn 1 year ago
@Jojoshjohn Insu-pro would be ideal as it also contains 10g of Peptopro. However if you have whey protein or it is more affordable then you can drink something like Gatorade with it (you don't have to mix them together) for your carb source. Hope this helps.
BestPriceNutrition 1 year ago
I currently take monster amino immediately post-workout and then wait 30 minutes to take my basic 30g of Whey protein. You guys definitely know what you're talking about. Would insu-pro have a similar (or better) effect?
tdolan121 1 year ago
@tdolan121 a littel different in that Insu pro has carbs added to it. this will give an insulin spike to drive everything into your cells. Also the the nice thing about Insu-Pro is the addition of Peptpro, giving you di- and tri-peptide bonded amino acids which are much more stable than free form amino acids (Monster Amino). Hope this helps.
