You think it would be more offensive to BURN the bible, or wipe your ass with it? Hmmm..... I might make a video response to this. I can feel something brewing :)
MMm. Now are we attached to these books ? Or do we already have the content within ourselves? You are really only converting one form of energy to another in essence. You are merely removing an ego attachment or changing the illusion. Our essence should already have the truth of those books within, if they matter at all. Therefore for me, I would take no offence.
Another great video sage. I look forward to your next one. Should be pretty soon as consciousness is accelerating at a rapid rate.
not offended at all, they are all made and MANIPULATED by man for control over others!! and all of them suggest god is separated from humans...which is impossible!
but would you be offended if you saw someone pissing on a statue of Shiva or Buddah? because that sure would offend me!<<even tho i know its just an illusionary material inventory item of my chosen philosophical belief structure!
@BlessedGanja don't wanna be rude ..but isn't your statement fucking hypocritical? what you get out of books should't be mandatory. i still love you regardless on which object you take a piss
Burning a book is paramount to saying, "I don't like this book." It's stating your opinion. Nothing more nothing less. Why should the burning of a book illicit a radical response? It shouldn't.
I think it's the visual of the burning book that confuses people. But if you dissect the image, it says nothing more than "I dislike this book." But folks want to interpret it as something more. Try some deductive reasoning for once in your life.
I'm thinking it was either The Torah or The Koran. Burning any of the books would not be outrageous or offensive because it is only destroying a placeholder for information, it can't destroy that which is eternal and universally true. Yes there are fragments of wisdom contained in the books mentioned, but it is not lost by burning them; any wisdom that can be extrapolated from them already exists within each and every one of us. Buddha asked people to be the way he is b/c they already are.
Moby Dick, Tale of two cities and the Great Gatsby are all wonderful works of art worthy or saving for future generations! Burning those offended me greatly! The rest of the toilet paper I could care less about ;)
@tantoi10man I could be wrong, but I believe the point he's trying to make is that burning a plain piece of paper shouldn't be offensive, nor should it be to burn a book, for the story lives on!
"Would burning any of these books be outrageous or offensive?" My word would be stupid. "If so, why?" Because while the physical books themselves are not necessarily sacred, we still recognize them abstractly as containers of truth or knowledge or opportunities for learning. So burning them effectively gives across the idea that the burner is abstractly saying, "Fuck that!" Now it's the burner's right to express him/herself that way, but I wouldn't express myself that way.
Our nation is so Rich... we can Burn books! Take that Africa!

Looked like the Torah got torched but not 100 sure% And it is irrelevant. The only person hurt by this is the owner of the book.
I was more offended by the burning of the blank sheet of paper... How could you defile all that is blank... all that is not yet communicated...? Vile!

Yahweh accepts your burnt offering. It doesnt matter what you surrender, as long as it is precious to you.
After your sacred books, your sacred plants, and sacred family and friends will be acceptable offerings.
