Happened to me too, got really bad. Gave it to apple, and they dropped a brand new -refurbished - model off at my doorstep free of charge. And they transfered all my content. Once it happens again (it's becoming weak again) I'll sell it as new when they send it back, then buy a 11" 2010 or so and a 22" monitor to make up for the lost screen size.
@AGiantSOLDiier the reason why pc has a lot of viruses is because its been around for a long time and people were using pc a lot more then apple for a long time...so people could make viruses for it, also...viruses are easy to get around if you arent stupid....obviously you need a firewall and security program installed...and just dont download any stupid shit, but my pc runs faster then this dudes macbook air guranteed.
@theradworldofchad1 Macbook Pro's and other Mac's run way faster then stock pc's. The Air is definitely shit. Pc's that aren't home made or upgraded are slower and can't handle a lot of programs at once.

the plastic part between the hinge's broke and the screen was totally loose.
with time the wire is damaged and the screen no longer has backlight so nothing was visible. Replaced the whole assembly for $600. New macbook air no longer has these silly hinges
@1nglewattz1 follow up!! k and the ethernet, icannot say much. u can purchase external ethernet jacks from third party manifactures or apple. as for the cd/dvd drive, u can purchase it from third party manufactures or apple. i have to say, i love the new macbook air! it boots in less than 15 secs! pretty fast... i do not regret getting one!! i recommend getting one!!
This is one of the reasons I would never even consider getting a macbook air. (Besides the lack of ethernet, lack of an sd card reader, lack of multiple usbs, lack of a cd/dvd drive, AND lack of adequate speed. Plus the huge price tag.) Do you regret getting it now?
@betterthanyourname28 i have a macbook right now and i do not regret it. it had the ssd to comphensate the slowness of the processor speed. and its core 2 dou preforms better that the uld core i5 and i7 processors. the new macbook air also has a HUGE drop in price tag which has nudged me to get one. the new macbook air also has a built in sd card reader, but only on the 13" model. and it so happens that i have a 13" one here! ok now has 2 usb ports instead of one.
do you know how to fix this ? i have the same your .
