It's not an exorcism, a mostly Roman Catholic idea. It's more like the evil spirt is a virus, and this "cleansing" is removing the virus. There is no "possession." The candles aren't black. There are three different types representing many different things. This is no longer a Catholic Church. This is a ceremonial place as it was before the conquistadors imposed their religion and built their church on this Mayan ceremonial ground. These people simply took back what was theirs.

What a fool... an exorcism? They dont even know what is the meanning that word. This isnt an exorcism, is just a common tradition inside the church, they believe that they must offer some gifts (chikens or other precious things) to their god to keep him happy. And they also pray and drink inside to heal their illnesses. It's a very sacred ritual that you'll never understand filming. You have to be sensitive, study their history, talk with them and be nice. It's an incredible experience.
