I have a glass slide (just bought a month ago) and was wondering what was better, a glass slide or a metal? Not so much what is better (because they resonate different sounds), but what do YOU think is better. Rather, better for blues.
I like them all and have them all, they all give different tones. The pinky slide is easiest for me if \i want to do other stuff finger wise, but a heavier slide on my ring finger gives the best thickest sound. Glass has less sustain and that sounds good sometimes.
On slower tunes where you really want to milk the sound I would use a heavey brass slide.
I use a 16 gauge martin bluegrass resophonic string. They are only for resonator guitars though, don't try putting them on a regular guitar or you'll rip the bridge off.
I don't think so, it was a long time ago I did this, I might be. My guitars are usually tuned down a half step and the capoed. This one might be a half step down from open G. It is open G though.
Open G, thanks, glad you like it. I don't know where I know that tune/riff/idea from, heard it somewhere. Glad you like it. I checked out your stuff. You're doing pretty good, keep on playing and check out lots of the old blues guys on youtube.
Nice work men well done, but hey where's the feeling :P Look at blues history you'll see that blues start with emotion and it has to be still emotion ;)
True. Considering this was my first video, and I'm stiff in all of my videos, I've never been comfortable playing in front of a camera, or anyone for that matter. I never play in front of people. I just play for me. Some days I have some feeling. Never in front of the camera though. Some kind of weird phobia.
You are a awsome player! Great! My Del Vecchio was sold in last year, I can get the email of the buyer to you, but this guitar is a "vióla caipira" w/ 10 strings, I sale guitars in Ebay, I have one right now for US$1.200,00 and other with 12 holes for US$1.000,00

What Guitar Do You Use and How Do You Get Such A Clean Slide Sound?
waddlesgee3 2 years ago
That guitar is a cheapie regal I used to have. The clean sound comes from dampening out unwanted notes with my hand.
al0102030405 2 years ago
but thats the point of a dobro, dude
to get all those unwanted sounds and shit and turn it into one giant blues orgasm

What model regal is that? Im trying to figure out which dobro/ reso to buy
YubetaR 4 years ago
I don't know exactly, there is no model number on it or in it. It is a low end Regal though, you can buy them on Musicians Friend for around $300.
