@agapemom Hey Lee Ann can you answer a couple of questions. Why does the Vita-Mix have a plastic container instead of a glass one. Also I plan on getting one soon as I can afford it. Bed Bath & Beyond has the CIA Professional serious for 450 plus I have a 20% off coupon. I don't see this series on the Vita-Mix website though??
@gerry3x The container is made of Tritan Copolyester (does not release BPAs). A low-powered blender can be made of glass. The Vitamix blades spin 4 times faster and the motor is 8 times stronger than a blender - a stray seed would shatter glass. The CIA is only sold in stores and has a cookbook for caterers and chefs. The ideal model for home use is the 5200 - it has a cookbook for family cooking. Please email me (my email is on my Vitamix Lady website)
Hello, sorry for the SHORT reply, but I'm at a show and will be late for work if I don't run. 1) I don't sell it (thanks for asking), 2) I would not recommend using it every day. 3) it is best to rotate your greens. Check out Victoria Boutenko's books or blogs for information on why it is important to rotate your greens. Foods that tend to be allergenic (like soy) should not be eaten every day either :-)
Hello. First let me say that you are an excellent demonstrator and your videos are invaluable. Thank you for posting them. Now, I have several questions:
1. I found the website for the protein powder you're using. Do you sell it or do I just buy it from the website?
2. If I do buy it, would you recommend using it every day? There are so many conflicting opinions on soy.
3. I make the same smoothie every day and incorporate kale and spinach. Is it okay to use the same greens daily? Thanks!
@lancebrothers The Ninja is quite a bit better than most blenders, but there are only two main brands in the same category as the VItamix: 1) The Vitamix, and 2) The brand which must remain unnamed ;-)
Hi, great videos very informative! I've been looking at the vitamix and blendtec blenders. I've notice that the vitamix has a higher rpm of 37000rpm vs blendtecs 28000rpm, but noticed blendtecs blade tip speed is 320mph vs vitamix's 240mph. I am a littlest confused here as to why a higher rpm has a lower blade tip speed. Perhaps the rpm is a rating of how fast the motor is spinning? Can you clear this up for me? Thanks
@supersanbob I'm not an engineer, but my guess is that the Blendtec has longer blades so the tip is faster and the speed decreases as you get closer to the center. Best comparison is the texture of the ice cream and the temperature of the soup. With higher RPMs our soup gets hotter and the ice cream has less ice crystals in it.
@dd0950 I did not use juice "cocktail", that is why I explained how important it is to get the Welches with the YELLOW lid (and not the white) because the white lid is juice "cocktail" which has the HFCS plus up to 17 chemical preservatives that I can't pronounce, while the YELLOW lid is simply concentrated grape juice and vitamin C.
Awesome recipes! I have a Vitamix and luv it, but don't use it as often as I could. Thanks for reminding me of all the different ways to use it (and especially how to sneak in the veggies. LOL)
@KodiWoeDee Thanks! Look up the Vitamix Enthusiasts Yahoo Group - there are over 1,200 Vitamix owners who share recipes, ideas, inspiration, and support!
@agapemom My wife and i love your videos. We literally watched every single one of them because we couldn't get enough! Very informative! Thanks again
@DoingLaundrySucks I am so happy that they are helpful! You might enjoy my email list where over 1,000 Vitamix owners share recipes ideas and support. it is a Yahoo Group called Vitamix Enthusiasts. I can't post links here, but you can find a link to this email list at my VitamixLady website.
have my 5000 Vitamix for 10 years, LOVE IT. Customer service is WONDERFUL only needed them 3 times and when I did they were awesome!!! This lady has spunk love the comedy in this presentation.
I love listening to you, you are great and funny. just purchased the 5200 and after listening and watching you I am dying to get started. Thank you for a great demo!!!
@gutturtle Thanks so much! I don't do chocolate (allergies) but you can adapt recipes - get my contact info from my website and email me and send me a recipe and I'll tell you how to adapt it...
I really enjoy your presentations. I just bought the 5200 and want to make vanilla ice cream for the children. You mentioned freezing 1/2 and 1/2 into ice cubes. I didn't see the recipe at your website. Please advise.
@Rahimah1919 sorry for the late reply. I just follow a traditional ice cream recipe and freeze most of it and reserve some of it as a liquid then blend them together into ice cream. It takes a bit of experimenting to get the proportions correct, but the rule of thumb is 1/4 cup of liquid to 4-5 cups of frozen.
@Rahimah1919 I don't use recipes - I just throw things in there. The guidelines for how to make ice cream are on the recipe page of my website. The rule of thumb is one cup of liquid to 3 cups of frozen. When I use half-n-half (actually is is raw cream - I use raw milk) I add dates or Stevia to sweeten then whatever frozen I plan to use - sometimes frozen fruit - other times frozen, sweetened cream (use whatever sweetener floats your boat - I like Stevia or Dates)
@pazios2002 At Wholesale Clubs and military bases (where the machines are sold at Wholesale price) we only sell black or white. At retail venues (like home shows, Whole Foods Stores, and Fairs) we sell red, black, and white. I just did a Whole Foods and I'd say that the reds were about 25%. Black 50% and White 25% (that is a rough guess). At Whole Foods we also sell the Limited Edition Platinum color for $499 (retail for red black and white is $449).
@pazios2002 Only black or white are sold at Wholesale Clubs (Costco, Sam's BJs) Same with military bases. Red can be purchased at Home Shows, Fairs, and Whole Foods Stores. Blacks sell 4 times more than white. I like white though - doesn't show dust and finger prints like white. I LOVE our new brushed stainless option. It retails for $499 though while the other colors retail for $449.
You are very pretty vita mix lady with your hat off. I saw you on your website.
