Then, in the mid 80's I could NOT make out what these guys were about. I mean, its just plain awful hybrid of Gene Loves Gezebel, Wham, Duran Duran, Mazarati (Prince related band) Hair Bands and Huey Lewis and The News? I wish they'd lose the master video and album tapes.
Their band manager at the time Howie Hubberman later introduced me to my husband. Wouldn't have met him if it weren't for Bang Bang! Loved these guys! So much fun dancing to them in concert! I remember driving a few of the boys in the early 80's in my brand new red Honda Prelude where they opened at an outdoor concert in Manteca CA. We called it, "Bang Bang, Talk Talk and Berlin Berlin" tour. Rember that guys?
Wow you found the video, i saw them in Orange county HB the singer went on to form Dear Mr. President (sucked) i really like this band, one day i will find the demos.
I had a friend that had about 12 more songs that didnt make it on a tape.
Holy crap! I had no idea a video was ever made for what was an 80's rarity. I guess someone thought that this song was going to be a hit...and frankly, it should've been.
I had this playing in my car one day and the girl riding with me said, "Oh my God, it's Dead Or Alive!" After thinking about, they do sound a bit like them..actually, a cross between them and ABC.
Ok, WOW! These guys were my first concert when I was 13 in Beverly Hills. I think it was the last concert they did. Tristan was the SHIT (as were Julian, Bennett, Joey, Ronnie and Desi)! I can't find the words to explain how excited I am to see this video again. After 25 years. I hope you are all still doing good *smooches*
I saw them play in Hollywood at a small night club. Yes, I was a fan! In fact, the famous DJ, Richard Blade, predicted Bang Bang would be a big hit. Sadly for Bang Bang they came out toward the end of the 80's ... if they came out much earlier, I think Richard Blade would have been right.
I was never a fan, but I had this song and video seared into my memory back in the day, just 'cause they were so foofy beyond the call of duty and this song was such a Motown ripoff. That keyboardist in particular looks ridiculous, with that frazzled bleached poodle do. Wonder what kind of jobs these guys have now (assuming they didn't succumb to hairspray poisoning) and what they think when they look back on how they looked 23 years ago..
"getting slapped, breaking hearts!" This is the greatest line in the song. Possibly, the best line ever written. Nice work fellas, even if you all have lady-hair. It was the 80's everyone did. Plus, I don't think Duran Duran ever looked that pretty. You win.
RyukOtoko, NO YOU DON'T GET THE(LACK OF) COMPARISON. The music DOESN'T COMPARE(NOT SIMILAR) to DD. Where in my comments do I compare the MUSIC? I DON'T. The song/band are not similar in ANY way to DD. Taste in music is subjective. Counting records sold is objective. Are you delahuerta? Did you post the video? My reply is to him NOT YOU. You have no class-w/ your "old f***" line. I know it's hard for you to make words with more than 4 letters, but you don't even know me This song still sucks
well I stand by my opinion although I'll admit it, the swear was uncalled for, I apologize for that, but as far as I understand this space is still open to debate, I'll keep it on the constructive side next time
Funny you compliment Duran but shit on Kajagoogoo, seeing that Nick Rhodes (Duran's keyboardist) produced their biggest hit "Too Shy" How many hit records do you have?
I loved this album when it came out. Bought it on cassette and wore it out. Does anyone know where to find a copy of this album. It was called Life Part 2

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I haven't seen this in ages. I knew these boys way back when. I'll have to pass this link on to Julian. Damn. Those were the days.
I never saw this video! Thanks for posting it. Truly an underrated band. This song does them no justice- the cheesiest track on the Lp! Around '86-'87, I was watching the tv show "Vegas" and saw a casino billboard that said, "Tonight on stage: Bang Bang". Wish I saw them live.
I miss the 80s ! What a range of talent there was. Everything from the Eurythmics to Motely Crue. It was never boring unlike the scene today. Cookie cutter industry inspired crap. It all sounds the same except for a few exceptions.
Okay...I admit...I really did like this song 'back in the day'....but WoW...watching this video...they were really goonie!! And for any comparison to DD...Duran Duran was and never has been corny. They were the epitome of cool with a Euro flair. And oh yeah...they still look hot!
Talk about blast from the past. Bang Bang played at my high school in 86. I also saw them play at The Roxy in Hollywood in 86. Wonder what every happened to them....
Great song & video! Here's a little bit of trivia...Ronnie Mancuso (the guitar player) went on to play in an Atlantic Records signed rock band called "Beggars and Thieves" during the early 90's.
I liked thier other song liked 'Rodeo',dark intentions' and Religious Holiday'.

Funny, to me the music is Culture Club, but the band's look is Duran Duran/The Alarm.

Some of the jobs they hold now is producer, mixing engineer, and composer. I'm not sure about Desi and Joey though

Thanks for uploading one of the rarest 80s videos. I think "nine ways to win" have them beat but we all appreciate taking the time to share them.

I wonder if Julian came in makeup when he worked on producing the new Glen Campbell record? ;)
I haven't seen this in ages! I used to watch it on a show called Video 22 which was on UHF in Los Angeles - way before cable!

delahuerta, You wrote, "they were the USA's version to Duran Duran. Big time flop, but catchy song." What the hell kind of comparison is that?
If they were the USA version of Duran Duran,
then they would have sold millions of records, toured all over the world and had thousands of teen age girls creaming in their panties!
"Big time flop" is too nice a term.
Not a "catchy song" either. These guys suck! More like Kajagoogoo.
bbigjohnson 3 years ago
you dont get the comparison you old fuck not all music compares just by the millions of copies that they've sold
