@gu81singh a VTEC 1,6 have only 150 Torque....thats not much. If you know how VTEC functioned??? 2 differents chamshaft profils, without Vtec you can have the same Power in this Honda, but in less turns the Car needs more Gas and have not such a power, but the kick in the as can be the same about 5000 rpm...

Civic EG sape didnt have a 1400CC . 1.3, 1.5 lsi, 1.6 ESi vtec, 1.6 Vei and 1.6 Vti . That civic was probably a 1.5 lsi .

a Civic ESi would have been the best match for the Puma. Because the 1.6 single over hear cam ESi which has 123 bhp and 0-60 is in 8.7 secs.

This car was prob the 1.5 LSi.

I think you are rite that there was no 1.4 engine for this model. The 1.6 VTi that you have mentioned is a dohc V Tec engine whicg gives 160 BHP, and they also made an ESi which has a 1.6 sohc V Tec which gives123 BHP (almost identicle BHP and 0-60 as the Puma) My money is on this Civic being 1.5 LSi

myeps, the puma got over the jap... but still 1400 vs 1700 ... it was still very close. I was impressed when I saw that the Civic stayed next to me for such a long distance. But at the end, I got over him

The only thing I can remember is that it was a 1400 cc with 90hp but a bit modified with another exhaust and another airfilter. It's Honda, so normal that it's fast :)
