  • what plant is the one that is covering that square its really green!!!

  • @rexlinkfish Hemianthus callitrichoides

  • the lanted tank is really cool but the fish selection that you hafta have really sucks

  • This music makes me think of a sultry scene in a movie or classy porno where people start making out by a fire place. It's really soothing when accompanied to the scenes of a fish tank, though.

  • please respond what do you use for lighting

  • @unlockwall Nova Extreme Model # 1128 made by Current USA Inc.

  • @tyler361549 thank you so much

  • I don't really get why you have just a square patch on one side. Fish look really nice over a rolling sea of green in my opinion.

  • @FreeTheSticks It used to be covered, you can see in my other videos. I don't remember why I took it out, it was 2 years ago.

  • the glas of your tank looks awesome. is this milk glas?

  • @VideosVonDennis I dont think so, what is milk glass?

  • @tyler361549 Oh sorry. I think in germany we would call it literally translated "milk glass". After asking a translator website I think you call it in english "alabaster glass", "frosted glass" or "opal glass"? Here in germany you can get usual glass fishtanks or those which are with "milk glass".. "milk glass" is more expansive and looks pretty awesome.. little bit more clear and with some beaty white reflections. Its more high quality and good for aquascaping.

  • @VideosVonDennis And your tank just has this effect on the glass. But it might be your lights. However.. your tank looks nice. I should also place a small tank near my computer. Looks relaxing. :)

  • @VideosVonDennis I know what you mean but I am not sure. I didn't buy the tank, it was given to me for free : )

  • @tyler361549 Cool. :) Looks great.

  • @VideosVonDennis the tank he has dosen't have milk glass, milk glass is just like regular glass but it dosen't have the green tint to it.It's also much more expensive.

  • @iownudie108 I just thought because of the beaty white/blue/green reflections on the corners.. but it might be due to the high lights then. I just dont have the same reflections in my fish tank. I have usual glass tank.

  • @tyler361549 i think he means optic white glass

  • I got Fluval Edge 6GL & the LED light is very bad but I'm using DIY Co2. Do you think my HC will grow & spread normally without a good light like ur ?

Can you tell me when u bought the HC from AquariumPlants, did u buy the whole MAT or by Potted ? Thanks.

  • @tnd512 I would guess that the light will not be bright enough. I bought the HC about 2 years ago and I got it in the pots.

  • @tnd512 the fluval edge tank actually puts out upwards of 6 watts per gallon

  • Well I looked that up its not it :/ oh well I you find out let me know I like it

  • @SnowAndTanks Hornwort

  • What is the really tall plant that is coming out of the baby tears??

  • @SnowAndTanks I think its called Cabomba. I didn't order it, it just started growing so it was mixed in with my plants when I got them, a stowaway.

  • @tyler361549 i think it's hornwort

  • @twisto You know what, I think your right! Thank you

  • How long did it take for them to grow that much and what is that glass thing on the side attached to the suction cup?

  • @subtleserveyor Id say it took about 3 - 4 months. That glass thing is called a drop checker and the liquid inside changes color depending on how much co2 is in the tank. Green means good.

  • @subtleserveyor Thanks. I'm pretty sure that's baby dwarf tears, right? I got mine a couple of weeks ago, and there's minimal growth. I do a simple DIY CO2 injection w/ an air stone. I have a simple 10 gal. hood on my tank that came with two bulbs.. not sure about the wattage. Do you think I need to upgrade my technology in order for them to grow better/faster, or should I just hope for the best.

Oh and I still have that "new tank syndrome" brown algae. IDK if that's affecting it?

  • @subtleserveyor Yes, its dwarf baby tears. I don't know how much co2 your creating but since its just a 10 gallon it shouldn't be hard to get more if you need it by just adding more bottles or using a bigger one. Need lights that imitate the sun, they need to be the proper spectrum like 6,700 kelvin. If you are using just regular incandescent bulbs then I think that would be a problem. New tank syndrome shouldn't harm the plants.

  • @tyler361549 Thanks, I'll check out the lights!

  • amazing tank nice job! i love the fishies! nice job! look at mine please rate and comment like i have done for you

  • Do you use soil?

  • @77MAD77MAD77 Yes, its made specially for aquariums. Its called aquasoil. They are like little balls of dirt. I've had them for a long time and they still hold their shape.

  • how do you clean the bottom of the tank with the plant in the way?

  • @kentuckyfriedmeat96 I just smash it down with the gravel vac and it sucks up a bunch of stuff.

  • Hi, where did you get the carpet part (on the left side). Is it moss? thank you.

  • @cruzer93718 Nope, not moss. It is called Hemianthus callitrichoides. Search it on Google, its also called Dwarf Baby Tears or just HC. I got mine from aquariumplants (dot) com

  • can u tell me all the plants in the tank manly the carpet stuff

  • @Superthecod The plants I have are Hemianthus Callitrichoides, Anubia Nana, and Hygrophila Difformis. Hemianthus Callitrichoides also known as Dwarf Baby Tears or just HC is the carpet plant.

  • @tyler361549 thanks comment rate and sub ill do the same

  • Very nice tank. Holy crap.

  • 1:33 It's like the kelp forest in Spongebob! =D

  • could someone plese tell me whats the name of the plant on the left side .. :D

  • @lilavanill Hemianthus callitrichoides

  • @tyler361549 thanks :)

  • @tyler361549 How long did it take you to grow it that dense? How much did you start out with? I just planted some in my tank... we'll see how it goes.

  • @cloudinfinity It took about 3 - 4 months to cover the bottom, it was short then which is how I wanted it to stay but it started getting tall like you see it in this video. I think I started out with about 5 - 6 pots.

  • @tyler361549 Well I gotta say man, looks very nice! I love how vibrant the green is on these plants.

  • @cloudinfinity Thanks!

  • @tyler361549 They usually grow tall when they are reaching for more CO2, not light like many people think.

  • how did u stop the grass to grow further like that? thats awesome.

  • @balisong209 What you see on the left used to cover the whole bottom. I just cut it with scissors and pulled it out.

  • Sweet Tank! What size is the tank?

  • @XXGOLDENXXDRAGONXX Thanks, its 30 gallons.

  • hey bud, how long do you keep your lights on everyday? I have recently planted baby tears HC but havent seen any growth. I am working on putting Co2 which i know is must. I heard keeping lights on too long will promote algae?

  • @ohheyesee I keep my lights on for 8 hours, too much light can promote algae. Have you gotten CO2 yet, I wouldn't expect too much without it.

  • Waiting for Ron Jeremy to come out. LoL

  • Tá muito legal teu aquario e aquelas platinhas que ficaram meio isoladas ficou muito bom e esses peixinhos pequenos são muito bonitos.

  • @lucas3471997 Muito obrigado

  • Qual á fauna do seu aquario?

  • @lucas3471997 Neon Tetras and Glo Fish (Zebra Danios).

  • WHERE CAN I BUY THAT SAME LIGHT HOOD? PLEASE REPLY

  • @CJVillanueva It is a Current USA 36" Nova Extreme T-5 Fixture 2x39W 10K/Freshwater Model # 1128. I got it from Big Als Online, just search for 1128 and it comes up.

  • Has the hemianthus grown yet?

  • @Dangcosmo Yeah, what you see on the left side used to cover the whole bottom.

  • @tyler361549 I just can't grow my Hemianthus, I don't know why it won't grow. Any tips? Maybe I need more light? Your aquarium seems to have a much brighter look.

  • @Dangcosmo What size is your tank and what lighting do you have? Do you inject CO2 and add fertilizers? What kind of substrate are you using?

  • @tyler361549 Size is 180L, lighting is 2x daylite Juwel 45Watt, I do not inject CO2 (expensive) and my substrate is sand.

  • @Dangcosmo I think you need more light, CO2 and fertilizers. I would say you need better substrate but I have seen it grown on rocks and logs so I guess that doesn't matter. Your ratio of light to water volume is less than mine and you tank is probably taller than mine which makes the light farther away and less intense.

  • @tyler361549 Hey, yesterday I've bought some reflectors for both lights and I'm adding fertilizers AND I have my custom bio CO2 system, it works. Should be working now, I can see hemianthus has grown a tiny bit since yesterday.

  • @Dangcosmo That should help a lot, let me know how they do.

  • @tyler361549 They're still growing slowly! :D I'm so happy, I hope they will grow endlessly.

  • @Dangcosmo Thats awesome, I'm sure they will. Mine started getting really tall, I think they were reaching for the light. I think if I had maybe double the light they would have stayed really low to the ground like a carpet, which is what I was going for but I didn't want to spend almost $100 for more light.

  • nice choice of music and cool tank

  • @My2RiceBowls Thanks!

  • LMAO! Day 1 :-/

BTW: the plants on the very right side along the glass don't look like they belong under water. "Aquatic Plants" in petco are often terrarium plants who's roots can survive fully submerged. You may be able to grow them in a terrarium with high moisture.

  • @AquaticHeaven What do you mean day 1, because it looks newly planted? The dwarf baby tears on the left used to cover the whole bottom, the ones on the right are new though. Those are aquatic plants, I made sure because I know most of the ones they sell are not. I put the scientific name in the description, you can Google it, it grows like a weed.

  • your left side want to be trim ^^

  • nice tank. not sure what your going for but looks good

  • Nice porn music & awesome tank!

  • @TheSickdrift Lol, thanks!

  • this looks cool man very nice

  • @1makosyo1 Thank you

  • can you post an uptate of this tank so i can what it looks like?

  • @Ileikdrumzz There are no plants in it anymore, just the one anubias plant in the drift wood.

  • @tyler361549 hey dude do you use an filter and if you do what is it ?

  • @bxzel0915 Yes, I show the filter at 1:14, its a Fluval 205

  • What is your Fluval cannister filter model? And what is your lightning?

  • @wolvid The Fluval is a 205 and the lighting is a Current USA Nova Extreme fixture model number 1128. Its 36 inches long and has two T5HO bulbs for a total of 78 watts.

  • @tyler361549 Cool thanks for your answer!

  • @wolvid No problem!

  • nice setup, i wouldn't use the hornworth plant though. they're very fast growing plants once settled in and will block out the light. i used to have it and ahd to trim every 4 days

  • @ENRIQUEGOITIA Yeah, thats what happened. I don't have any of those plants in this video anymore though.

  • @tyler361549 there's actually one in the left side of your tank in this video. that's why i mentioned it.

  • @ENRIQUEGOITIA Yeah, that guy was a hitchhiker, thats why I only have one single plant of it.

  • thats so cool

  • It tells me how much co2 is in the water. It has water in it that is at a certain ph and then they add the liquid to it that is used when testing for ph. The co2 level of the tank water is going to equalize with the water in the ball and alter its ph which makes it change color. Green means good.

  • whats the little glass ball on the side and how does it work?

  • my wisteria took over my 10 g lol

  • @rickfisk Yeah, mine didn't stay the way it looks in this video. It grew fast, lol.

  • what are those little plants in the corner. and does the baby tears need high light and co2

  • @skaterg807 Those plants in the corner are Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis). They say dwarf baby tears needs high light and co2 and even then people have trouble growing it. I on the other hand have it growing in a tank with moderate light and no co2 and it is slowly forming a carpet. So you could try it if you wanted, it is possible.

  • @tyler361549 thanks and does it only grow in a certain substrate or can i use like something as simple as gravel

  • @skaterg807 I think gravel will work because it can be grown on dritwood and rocks. But if your not using co2, high lighting or a fertile substrates then you are kinda stacking the odds against yourself. Try it though, it may work. Leave them in the pot and plant it so the top is at ground level and maybe they will spread onto the gravel. Maybe that would help?

  • you've got the same coralife t5ho fixture as well? i need to pick up a co2 unit :P would love to have a thick carpet like that

  • @supertasticasian No its not a Coralife fixture, its a Current USA light fixture with 2 T5HO 39W bulbs. The carpet was nice but it was getting too tall so I took it out. Not enough light I think.

  • @tyler361549 oh, well, those light fixtures look really similar :P You could do a diy bulb mod for VHO or use some cheap shop lights. The shoplight one cost around 50 bucks for a 48" mod at 124-160watts

  • quality tank .what is the name of the moss you have planted in a section of the tank ? :)

  • @andysketch4 The only moss I have is on the right side of the tank on top of the drift wood. I believe it is weeping moss.

  • nice tank...do you use co2?

  • @turbonetic777 Thanks, yes I show it at 1:18

  • Hi tyler361549

what the Category did you post your video for people to visit?

  • @d2jsp911 I put it in "Pets & Animals"

  • @d2jsp911 ok Thanks

  • Hi tyler361549

Here's my baby tears HC started to growing!!! Thanks for help tyler361549

    watch?v=xDNxDu9_8J0

  • wow... u have exactly the same fishes that i have. except the yellow barbs lol u even have the lil chinese algae eater at the start! do u by any chance live in nz?

  • @metallica0217 It would be cool if I did but I live in Missouri, USA.

  • Hi, do you let the Co2 running 2hours before the light turn on or the Co2 and the light all turn on at the same time for 8hours a day? Thanks

  • @d2jsp911 The lights are on a timer but the co2 is not. The lights are off by the time I go to bed and the lights don't turn on till after I get up. So, I just turn the co2 off when I go to bed and turn in back on when I get up. Usually it is on for 2 hours before the lights come on. I have the lights on for 8 hours. You should get a drop checker if your going to use co2.

  • @tyler361549 I have a Co2 checker, the timer for Co2 and the light too. I setup them turn on at the same time but when the light and the Co2 turn on at the same time so my Co2 checker detected Co2 going to the water after 2hours later. I think, the better I have to turn on the Co2 2hours before the light turn on because the plants can consume Co2 when the light on. Do you using fertile daily or one time when you make the water change?

  • @d2jsp911 I fertilize the most right after a water change and then I add as needed to keep the levels up. I would use the EI method but if I do a 50% water change it kills my shrimp because there is a big difference in the ph from the tap and in the tank. EI stands for estimative index, if you didnt know. Google it and you will find plenty of info on it.

  • @tyler361549 My baby tears HC started to grow very healthy now and im so happy!!!, your information help me alot. Thankyou very much tyler361549

  • @d2jsp911 Thats great, I'm glad to hear it. Maybe you could make a video sometime.

  • @tyler361549 I don't have any camera right now but i'll borrow it from my brother and make some video later.

  • hey man need your help can u tell me how do u keep ur water so clean i do 25 to 50%water changes every week but it looks like every time i clean it get worse and other thing i have real plants too but they get like a algae all over them do you know what am i doing wrong and nice tank by the way hope u write me back thanks

  • @jvucket Is your tank cycled, do you fertilize any? Hard tell what could be causing your problem.

  • @tyler361549 no i didn't fertilize them sorry im new with real plants do u know where could i get some fertilizer?

  • @jvucket You can try leaf zone, its easy. Not fertilizing isn't your problem. If you have cloudy water is could be because your tank isn't cycled. If its green you have an algae bloom. You can also use flourish excel for your plants. You should make a video of your tank.

  • Do you connected Co2 to filter?

  • @d2jsp911 Yes, its the white tube going into the back of the intake tube. I drilled a hole.

  • @tyler361549 oh thankyou

  • Great tank!! I'm a beginner. I have 10gal tank with tetras and mollies. Should I turn off the light at nights? Also, I have java moss with T5 15 watts - Is this enuf for growth?

    Thanks!

  • @pappaellio Yes, turn the lights off at night. The fish need it. Your Java moss will grow fine with that light.

  • can you just put those plant on crushed corals..and will they will grow??

  • @lasteve99 Depends on the plant, try an anubias, they are really easy.

  • @d2jsp911 Where do you get the HC?

  • Comment removed

  • @d2jsp911 What do you mean by "they get all grew"? Do you mean they melted? If he didn't grow them under water then they will have to adapt when you put them into your tank. They usually do that by melting and looking like they are dieing or dead. But they will come back again ready to grow under water. So be patient.

  • @tyler361549 im sorry, i mean they get algae and hair algae around them

  • @tyler361549 if they not die so how long its start to grow? some of them start to grow just alittle but they look not healthy like your HC.

  • @d2jsp911 Im not sure, I bought mine from someone who grows it underwater. If I were you I would join a forum, just type in "planted tank forum" in Google. You will have lots of people helping you and they can give you a more accurate answer to your question than I am capable of.

  • @tyler361549 Do you still have your tank with baby tears HC growing? could you please sale for me some so I could try. I'll pay you by paypal and you send Baby tears HC to me?

  • @d2jsp911 I don't have them any more. The ones you see in this video used to cover the whole bottom of the tank. I just left that little bit and eventually got rid of that too. But that doesn't matter because you can get them from aquariumplants (.) com. That is where is got mine and they are grown under water so if that is your problem then that should remedy it. If I still had them I would gladly send you some for free but that is where I got mine so you should be okay.

  • @tyler361549 ok, i'll buy some and try. Thank you very much

  • Oh come oh come Emmanuel.. is that the background song? digging it if it is. Must know where to get it.

Very nice and clean (in simplicity and free of debris) tank.

  • @dyjital Thanks for the comment. When I made the video I used a song from their music library. It was just a random song and I don't know what it is. I tried to look and see if I could find it anywhere but apparently it doest say what the song is. If you know how to find out let me know.

  • @tyler361549

    O Come Emmanuel

    artist: Collins, Lautenbach and Ripoll

    album: Songs of December

  • @dyjital Thank you, I will post in description.

  • I have gravel and DIY in my freshwater tank.

What do I need to grow Dwarf Baby Tears?

  • @pappaellio Well people say its hard to grow but I cant kill the stuff. I took it all out of my tank and stopped adding fertz or co2 and there is some that got stuck in my moss and it is still growing, just really slow. So, you can try it but I cant say if it will work or not. It would be better to have a different substrate and to add fertz though.

  • @pappaellio gravel and DIY can't grow Dwarf Baby Tears for sure because i have rich substrate eco-completed and mix with ADA amazon substrate, co2 tank and Good fertile but they still can't grow.

  • man, i hate those fluval filters

  • what plant is that all the way to the left?

  • @maxima423 Hemianthus callitrichoides also called dwarf baby tears

  • did you use any liquid ferti?

  • @d2jsp911 I use all dry except for seachem flourish

  • @remousez Yours was probably grown grown out of water then sold to you. Then you try to grow it underwater and it has to adjust, it looks like its dieing and will start growing again. That is probably what is happening. Other than that just give it nutrients.

  • whats the mossy stuff on the left

  • @whatscrakn101 Hemianthus callitrichoides also called dwarf baby tears

  • what do you call the plant growing on the log at 0:29? can i grow on rocks 2?

  • @Cheddar254 Its an anubias plant, an anubias nana. Its a really easy plant to grow, you can just throw it in and it'll grow. I think if you tie it to a rock it will eventually attach to it.

  • hey what substrate are you using?
