  • hello sir, I am about to purchase my new 13.3 inch macbook pro for my future use with ProFire 610 m-audio, it is compatible? because the m-audio site says not compatible g4? I could explain that? This macbook pro is g5? Thank you. afraid I have to buy the macbook pro and not go my ProFire 610.

  • WHere is the sound coming out? like what im hearing in this video was you hearing it through headphones attached to your macpro or through external speakers attached to your phantom power? or is this sound just what was recorded?

  • well..if your going public with that,,you better watch out for the rotten tomatoes pal,

    it sounds gruesome.

  • I'm using mainstage for my live rig - fiddle and guitar in a progressive country band. Computer guitar amp emulations sound best through an impedance matching DI. The Waves PRS DI is what I'm using, running balanced line into a MOTU Traveler. It's active and requires a power source. I also ordered a Radial Dragster (passive impedance matching guitar DI.) The Traveler main outputs go into a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. I have a separately EQ'd output for house PA systems in the rig too.

  • is your midi controller plugged in to the profire 610!!!

or can you plug it though the profire? and use software instruments

  • Are you plugging straight into your interface or are you routed through anything else before that? And how do you get guitar rig 4 to interface with mainstage?

  • @spenc193 yes, straight into the ProFire 610 and that into the Mac. Using Guitar Rig 4 as a plugin in Mainstage

  • @spenc193 Hey did u create the backing track

  • do you get much noise from the guitar amp emulator?

    I do :(

do you recommend the apogee duet for fixing this?

  • @dewijones92 yes, all of the guitar processors try an simulate feedback and amp noise. You can limit this by turning the guitar volume down a tad. Just enough not to take away any drive. I have found the Apogee just has better sound overall, but not much change on simulator feedback. Maybe just a little.

  • Hii Brother.....i have a POD X3 Live.....is it possible for me to use it a foot controller and assign its switches different commands while using Mainstage or do i have to buy something like Apogee Gio or something...??

  • @mehulpanditful If the POD X3 has a midi out you could, but I dont think that is the case.

  • @folbot69 Oh...it surely has MIDI out...thanks brother...!

  • @folbot69 pod x3 have midi in and out, but i never tried to do this.. anyway who have a pod x3 live really dont need this softwares =p

  • Great Video.

@mickey5241 - You should just be able to load it up as an effects uint. Make sure that it's enabled in your plugins menu.

  • hey,

could you tell me how you embedded guitar rig 4 into mainstage 2?

i just can´t find out how to do it...

    thanks!

  • Does anyone know how to make the profire 610 work on vista 64 bit? I have the driver for it installed but when I try and run a daw it's not sounding like how it should sound

  • what kind of guitar is that? is it just a strat with black pickguard, knobs and such? if so where'd you get it?

  • @d3athlyd4rk The guitar is a USA Big Apple Strat. The difference being the two humbuckers. I also play a Tele.

  • good performance man!!

but I have any question...is possible to record my work from mainstage to logic?

If you know what is the way, please tell me how...

    thank you

  • and just one more question!!! does the 610 work with windows 7???

  • @SergioWW1WW2 Yes the 610 now supports Windows 7

  • hey man! I want to buy the 610, do you recomend it? cause i use guitar rig 4 too, but I want an interface that has the latency almost zero!!! Please tell me!!! :P

  • @SergioWW1WW2 Presonus ROCKS .. Alot of the time Latency also comes from pluggins your using if any ..

  • @sickmessiah yeah dude, I was thinking of bying the presonus firestudio mobile, so many people told me it was great, so I think I've decided :) do you have one yourself? Cheers my friend!

  • Hey man Nice Videos.I'm just starting to use main stage 2. I woild love for you to tell me how i can add a numbers of tracts to main stage 2, so that i can play a show from it.

  • I take it that is a strat your using? I can hear the hum when you turned up the guitar... I had the same problem, and I have an easy fix for recording....Take a short patch cable and duck tape one end to the cable that is plugged into your guitar so the tip is touching the medal of the other cable, now wrap the other end around and tuck it into your pants so its grounded to your hip. Trust me it will sound so much better!!!!!!!!!! It takes away that hum by grounding your guitar to your body...

  • Do you use Logic? Pro tools? forgive all the questions-new to this. My new system will be very simular to yours-Mackbook pro 17,Yamaha's HS50's,Sony cans. I need users input with= Keyboard, to sync with Logic. and interface with my system-Duet? Profire 610,MBOX PRO 2 ,Motu ultra lite mk3 hybrid? one versatile quality studio MIC. best for portable and mobile. thanks for your reply's too.

  • @RADLADRICK Yes, I do use Logic 9 and think it is very good. That being said, I also have Pro Tools M-Powered hence my ProFire 610. I think the Apogee Duet is a better interface and may get one in the future, but I did not want to be limited to just Logic. I hate when companies box us in, but we don't seem to have much choice unless we go with inferior tools. When editing and doing a final mix I like Pro Tools because for me it is more intuitive and faster. I could be happy with either one.

  • @folbot69 Apogee products will work with any Core Audio compliant app which basically means it works with everything but Pro Tools.

If you are a guitar player you should consider buying the Apogee GIO. Not so good if you want to record vocals at the same time as it only has a single input optimized for guitar.

  • @RADLADRICK He's done another video on the setup

  • i wanna get the profire 610 to run with pro tools m-powered. glad to see you like yours.

  • I love the Profire 610. The mic pres are really good sounding to me and the thing is all metal and rugged. I hate plasticy things.

I am about to post a new video with more details on my rig and connections.

  • i just bought my profire 610 but realize that i am using the new macbook white. do you know what to do about the firewire connection to the macbook white? its like now i only can stare at the profire 610 and i cant wait to use it.

  • @sunnysps Wow, I am afraid I do not have good news for you.

As far as I know there is no adapter that goes from firewire to usb. Apple just removed the firewire port on the latest MacBooks to accommodate for the new battery or something.

  • @folbot69 Not true. Mac Books have Firewire 800 which easily works with all Firewire 400 devices. You just need an inexpensive 400 to 800 cable. Voila.

  • oh yeah--how do you like the profire 610-may main inquiry ? better than say mbox pro 2? or any stuff from presonus?

  • Hey bro, nice set up. is your guitar plugged into that system or into a side amp in the room? maybe include a noise gate into the signal path? kinda noisy when u dont play. does it record it like that too? what are using the gear to play live or practing? good work though.can u tell more on the specs on the mackbook? ram?etc,,, peace.

  • @RADLADRICK My guitar is plugged in to my Profire 610 audio interface. I am not using an amp. The sound is coming from my studio monitors.

  • listening to pink floyd my whole life i think that tones pretty much right on, especially for live. thanks for the video man. im having trouble wrapping my brain around mainstage 2 and this just showed me whats possible.

  • it would be cool if we could see the guitar at all times, I think the tone is too trebly

  • sounds a bit flat in the tone but maybe that's just me :)

    great playing though
