  • Mirza Sahib! kaash aap mere qareeb hotai!

  • I think he sung more in Hindi and other languages than Bengali. Most famous of him in Bengali is "Chiti"(letter)

  • Rite of passage that we all boys go through. Can't explain why I love you! Yes, I love you, but I feel I am the wounded and the victim!

A Manna Dey song also expresses the agony of unexpressed love "Humsay aayaa na gayaa unse bulaayaa na gayaa".

  • @ombrahma the song that is quoted'humse aaya na gaya'is by Talat in "dekh Kabira Roya"tuned by Madan Mohan in Raag 'Bageshri'

  • Effortless and deep..these were singers.

Now it's no more than shouting to be heard above loud and bad music backing.

  • @ib422000 today's music, in general, is all about disturbing people's minds...being composed by disturbed minds...awful lyrics...feelingless, digital singers ....immature actors...slutty actresses....God save the Indian youth...

  • Sir, Anyone knows or heard of Krishan Goyal....of the era ofJag Mohan....

would appreciate if anyone has a song or two to upload. thanks.g

  • This is the song of Jagmohanji that i used to listen from Radio cylon broadcasting corporation from 10 pm to 11pm.in late 60s".Dilko he tumse pyar, ye na bata sakunga mein" very sweet song.Words are penetrating and make us think for while about the life, which shows us lot of ups and downs.Really, pain and grief are also stddded with the human lives. We can not escape from these factors. How one can express his/her emotions, if we would have no words.

  • fabulous...

  • kai sslo baad is pyare dil ko chu lene wala geet suna purani baate yaad aa rahi hai .

  • These underappreciated singers like Jagmohan and Surindera had marvelous voices. Rear post. Thank you Mirza Sahab.

    Regards,

    Dr. Kamath

  • sometimes tears well up in the eyes at the thought that such melodious music EXPIRED some years back after the entry of western mix. Where is Pandit Omkarnath Thakur and his raag 'Bhairavi '- not available anywhere !

  • @BANKIMJANI

I have a collection of Pandit Ji ( Pt. Omkar Nath Thakur)

But do not have any idea how to digitize it

Have asked some professionals no one seems to be interested

Any Idea how do I do it?

  • @triundk

    1. Download free audio editing programs such as Audiograbber or Audacity to your computer.

    2. Connect your source (turntable or cassette deck) to line-in terminal of computer, open the program and follow the instructions. If using a turntable, the connection (line-out) should be from the amplifier.

    3. A much simpler method is to connect the source directly to line-in jack of an MP3 recorder such as iRiver and then record. The songs are automatically digitised.

    Regards, Srivatsa

  • @srivatsa28

Thanks a ton: Let me just get a MP3 recorder

  • @srivatsa28

    Good Luck

I am almost certain that you have the song "Teri Yaad kaa Dipaka Jalataa hai, Din-Raat mere viraaneme" sung by Surendra as well as by Talat Mehmood. • Simply Marvellous.sung by full voice.and last stanza is worth listening. PIR MEIN TUMHARI YAD MEIN REHTA HOON BEQARAR KYUN. IT DESERVES 7 STARS.

  • Beautiful post, Mirzaji. The Sangitsamrat channel earlier posted three of Jagmohan's precious songs including this one at my request. I am glad to see this song on your site as well. The era of Saigal, Jagmohan, and Pankaj Mullick was especially sweet because singers rendered their songs with minimal orchestral support ,as is evident here too. So we get to hear voices virtually in their pristine purity.Thank you.
