  • When I seen them in 89 Nash had his 'mummy' costuum on in Newmarket Ontario.

  • Never understood how these guys got on Friday the 13 part 7's soundtrack

  • Is the guy on the right Bernie Lomax from Weekend at Bernies? lol

    Great song!!

  • Saw FM open for RUSH back in 1986, they were amazing.

  • @rhys2112

    Same here. AWESOME show!!!!

  • F.M isn't F.M. without Nash.

  • Great band! I'm looking for a song they did called Magic (In your eyes) Anyone know where to find it?

    Cheers

  • watch?v=aMqknYKlZEE

  • fm and rush moving pictures in 80 my first concert max webster had been the opening band but broke up right before the concert in buffalo ....lucky break on my part

  • This can't be the real FM?

  • Oh it certainly is. They are from Toronto.

  • Fuck, why is it the only time I hear FM is on Q107? I can't find their material anywhere.

  • If anyone has a time machine, please transport me back to Barrie, Ontario 1989 so I could be there in person to see this performance of "Phasors on Stun" live ... and please place a cold beverage in my hand. Love it!

  • Great vidio, even though the audio isn't great, you can still tell the performence was awsome,a great replacement for Nash the Slash as well, good playing and good vocal, where did he come from?I think this is awsome

  • I saw FM open for Rush too...I was younger and didn't really know who they were...until Phasors on Stun was played and it blew my mind........

  • Great song. Very cool to see it performed.

  • the first concert fm and rush 1980 great band this clip is available on a live cd dvd

  • i was there!

  • Let's see dream girl live! It must have been part of that set.

  • FM is great! Their album Tonight has some great tunes like Dreamgirl. I don't care if it's 80's pop/rock, it's all good.

  • Damn, this brings back memories - saw FM open for Rush at the Broome County Arena in 1981 - never in 100s of concerts have I heard a band who completely blew away an unsuspecting crowd like that. I still remember sitting by the dasher boards with my GF totally amazed at the bass... great times, great band.

  • Very, VERY cool!!! What I'd REALLY lve to see is some live stuff with Ben Mink! Anybody have that?!?!? That is my favorite FM period! Love the Nash stuff, too, but more of a Ben fan. What's he doing these days?!?!?

  • Ben was producing and writing with kd Lang for a while. Not sure if he's still involved with her.

  • ben mink is a producer he won a grammy a few years back for a kd lang cd

  • Thank you so much for allowing me to finally see some classic FM live! I've loved the FM Black Noise LP for years, shamelessly promoting it. This vid backs up my well founded love . . .

  • got anymore footage of that gig? Or any other FM for that matter?

  • Yes. I just need to digitize it.

  • Were you drumming at the Rush show mentioned above where FM opened?

  • No, that was Marty.

  • I did that gig lol

  • Man, I love watching this video -- this is one of my favourite songs of all time and, despite the a/v quality issues, I keep wishing I was there to see it live.

  • Video/audio quality obviously is poor but great to watch this video -- I love FM. So, is the fellow w/ the moustache and sunglasses Nash the Slash?

  • No, Marty is not Nash.

  • Ok, gotcha -- I've seen FM a few times. Best time was at Maple Leafs Gardens when opened for Rush in late 1980s -- both bands sounded great!

  • I was at that show too! Yeah, it was great. I saw them open for Rush at Varsity Stadium in the early 80s too.

  • Cool! I remember the drum sound of the FM drummer was amazing -- better in my opinion than Neil Peart's (I've been drumming for about 20 yrs so I pay attn to these things). I just remember the bass drum thud striking me in the chest b/c the impact was so strong -- very cool! I still have the ticket stub from that show.

  • Moustache is definitely not Nash. I talked to Nash last night at his 60th birthday -- Happy Birthday, Nash! -- and his secret superhero identity is *still* a closely guarded secret.

(But his new CD is out now. And his new videos are cool.)

I was lucky enough to see FM twice in the 1970s, once when they damaged the ceiling in the neighbouring high school with their flashpots, and once at the Ontario Place Forum when it still revolved.

Their best LP is the direct-to-disc. Is that out yet?

  • Is that YOU! Awesome!
