in just a few episodes i have watched, you have gotten me from xbox 360 shooting games to PC sim games. I just need to buy a logitech g25 and ill be on very shortly. excellent work
It's not a Frex cockpit. It's square tubing, or profile tubing.. Its the same stuff Frex uses. Yes I did change it though from the old Mazda chassis I had. This is much more practical.
It's NOT overrated, considering the fact that it is by FAR (and I mean BY FAR) the best racing SIMULATOR that there is. It can be improved and the 2 developers are surely taking their time, but I've played almost everything else and I still haven't found any racing sim that can compare to the might and feel of LFS.
Would love to see more LFS coverage. You could for example review some of the fantastic add-ons out there like LFSRelax, all sorts of dashboard apps etc. IMO LFSi by far the best simulator out there and I don't think you guys do it justice ...
I understand there is a "marketing" pressure to review the arcade stuff (That Fuel preview looked so lame!!! from a simracer point of view) ... but more of the real stuff wouldn't hurt.
Is the heel-toe method basically used to negate the loss in speed that happens when you move your foot off of the accelerator in order to hit the clutch..Im a little confused.
Your confusion might stem from the fact that the top of my video got cut off a little bit, so you can't see the track very well and it's hard to see whether I'm shifting up or down. But all you need to know is that heel-and-toe is used when you have to downshift while braking for a corner. As Shaun pointed out, if you don't raise the revs by blipping the throttle before each downshift, the revs will drop and when you let the clutch out after the shift ... (continued in next reply)
you might unsettle the drive wheels as the engine revs try to suddenly catch up with the wheels. Blipping the throttle between shifts smooths the process out, but if you want to blip while braking, heel-and-toe is a must. Since we only have two feet and one of them works the clutch, that leaves the right foot to work both brake and throttle pedals at the same time. As Shaun said, heel-and-toe is an art, but it's one that all road racers need to learn. ...(continued in next reply)
Heel-and-toe is ndispensible with an H-pattern shifter, but it can also be used with a sequential shifter. The Porsche factory insists that their drivers do just that in sequential-equipped cars like the RSR. Search YouTube for "Rockenfeller at Sebring" and you will how it's done.
Heel and toe isn't easy to learn, but if you are a true sim-racer (as opposed to just a racing gamer), then I can guarantee that learning this skill will be extremely rewarding and make sim-racing way more fun! :)
Cool stuff on the "new" buttkicker, and the heel-toe video was great too. I always wondered exactly what that skill entails. Only quetion I have is this; It seems like sometimes Chris Shifted regularly (without the heel-toe method), and other times he did use the heel-toe method. Why is this? Is there a preffered time to use the heel-toe method, like in corners? I'm still not %100 percent sure on the mechanics.
Thanks for showing my heel-and-toe video on your show as a "tech tip". I actually made the video to inspire sim-racers to learn the technique and use it when driving a car with an H-pattern shifter. If anyone is interested in seeing the whole video, just do a search on YouTube for "chrisobr".
hello from finland! been watching your show and kinda like it, keep up the good work guys. anyone know where i could buy buttkicker gamer? -it seems to be discontinued, at least i dont find it anymore. thanks.
also have an idea for you... please make an special episode dedicated for gaming pc. what kind of hardware is needed these days for real sim gaming experience.
Hi ! Thanks for watching.. Not sure on where to get the gamer. I would try ebay, etc.. If you can afford the more expensive LFE or BKA 300, they're worth it.
Shaun turns red saying TTs LOL. FAK ...wat da...dude! LOL....u guys are hilllarious. The contents are still of quality. Im enjoying it as ever. Thanks guys and welcome Andrea! It'll be just a matter of time b4 darin got the beating fr her hehe
I would also like to suggest that you do a full review of the F1 1991 TMF LE mod. Me and my friends are fanatics on f1 mods and this one tops them all. CDTP and MMG are good but after we spent a week driving the f1 1991 mod we were blown away. It is the type of mod that teaches you how to drive properly. We tried CDTP 2006 right after the 1991 and our laptimes improved drastically!!
It has a number of negatives, such as the sounds but the overall driving experience is amazing. :P:P
Hey guys, I'm a new subscriber....congrats on how the shows going. Really love it!! and dont worry too much about the mistakes, they just keep the show real :P
Excellent episode! :) I think the "sim-racer in training" bit can be very useful for people who are new to simming. Hope you'll share some tips for the beginners! :)

Great show guys. Too often I just pop in watch the episode and leave, so wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the effort you put into the show.
Thanks for the show, guys, it's great! I'm glad you reviewed Richard Burns Rally. Rallying is quite popular here in France (I practice it myself as a co-driver), and it's brilliant to be able to rally online with RSRBR. I'd love to race with you, but it's not easy with different time zones.
hi guys new to sim racing because of your show have bought a G25 and would like to know of any australian v8 supercar games or if the r factor mods are any good.. love racing just looking for a great sim with plenty of cars and tracks so i san get up to scratch...love the show keep up the great work,, also do you know of any online drag racing sims...cheers
We love hearing we have brought someone into sim racing ! The rFactor mods are pretty good yes and there's always new stuff being made for rF. Make sure to get the real feel or leo feel plug in to take advantage of the force feedback. rFactor or GTR Evolution would be a good start. A lot of rFactor stuff is being ported over to Evo. No on the online drag racing sims.. supposedly iRacing will have it someday. When it does.. lets drag !!! Thanks for watching !
my dream is to translate SRT show to polish and put it in my blog, lot of work to do, but maybe someday ill be enough motivated to do it for lots of polish simracers out there :) your show is interesting , funny and professional thank you for this, i think you motivated me enough to make some new vids from Richard Burns Rally with this episode, btw it is not so hard at all :)
hehe .. we didn't remove your love for Jessica or mark it as spam.. I think because posted it so many times.. hehe.. We'd love the show translated to Polish by the way !
Jessica I love You , because uhmmm i love You and I love You , my cell numer is .... , my adress is ...., my bank account is x.000.000 $ oh and i almost forgot to tell You most important : I love You, so it looks like I Love You ;)

Looking forward to the Richard Burns Rally review next episode. Wait a bit it should arrive. Youtube always render standard quality first then renders HD version, this video is pretty long so it must take a good moment.
You should get a Nvidia video card that has "3D Vision", and a 3D projector, and then it would be the PERFECT setup!
3D gaming is AMAZING, I will NEVER go back to playing it the way I use to, it LITERALLY adds another dimension to your games.
