She is a History teacher over there-- as she said it was high school age boys, hard to think they and tanks and machine guns at the school. 22 cal practice rifle sure seem to fit her story line, Perhaps the gun makers would not like it known just how deadly a 22 rifle can be? History does lie so often:
Make fun of a .22 ? Hardly, If that little chunk of lead enters the skull it's gonna ricochet around in there and turn the brain into mush. Anywhere it hits bone the results are gonna be nasty.
@Fire23eater We in the U.S. may have more guns, but far from the most crime. Try living in South Africa or many countries in Central and South America that make us look like a Sunay afternoon picnic. And with the highly increased sales in firearms and CCW, CHLs being given, crime rate has been on a decline since the turn of the century. Source, FBI and UNODC.
@Fire23eater More people die fromdoctors actions than firearms. Are you going to ban doctors? How about the number of people killed by drunk drivers, and still any person 21 or older can buy and drink and if he wants, he can drive. SO YOUR POINT IS MUTE!!!!
Ruger 10/22 tool of choice... I also have a bushmaster Ar-15 but try to carry 2000 or more .223 rounds with you for an extended period of time I could fit 2000 .22 rounds in my back pack with little effort
Good video , the .22 rifle is vastly under rated . I bought one of the Remington 597s an outstanding tack drive after it became broke in. there is now a good choice of very high velocity
ammunition available that makes it even more deadly . Great all around game rifle.
I will not allow you to honor Hitler, my father fought and saw many die

this video is on a simple 22 cal. Rifle, and how it is a safe fun tool, that if push comes to shove can fight in war. The Film has nothing to say about Jews pro or con.
That's amazing that you can see and hit a prairie dog at 150 yards. At the range I cannot see a playing card at 100 yards. I have not tried hitting a playing card at 100 yards with open sights. My wife and I hit playing cards at 100 yards with a scope - Marlin .22 bolt action and Mossberg 702 Plinkster .22 auto loader.
guess out here when you can see 5 miles on a good day, few hundred yards dont seem like much. yep their dots setting on their mounds or runing from hole to hole
wife is better than I am, once you get on and into it, the impossible is doable.
now the first time I ever saw a big caliber shoot parrie dogs, I was shocked, they were taking them on out to 300 yard with scope, it happened to be a young man with a 270 Win. Keep your self and family safe and keep your weapons rights.
Great video and I fully agree. I regretfully sold my Ruger 10/22 semi auto to get a smaller pistol. I'm going to buy one again. I would not trust a .22 pistol for killing power. But with the velocity of the round being greater coming out of a rifle it has much more killing/stopping power.

@donze52 Great to hear your story about those french young men, brave. I was shot by a 22 short by a poacher in Angola. Very disagreeable experience, it fail to knock me to the ground but it did lay me up for a fortknight. Happily know one was killed in that incident. Since coming to the states I have acquired a browning T-bolt and really enjoy the rifle.
glad you survived, those French cadets made german high powered rifle and machine guns unable to storm the fort till tanks showed up. all 300 were killed.
glad you like to shoot, try CB caps, so quite yet go threw a inch pine board, much better than a pellet gun, be safe in 2,012

Here in McCook population of 8,000 people, I know of 5 people in 38 years killed by a 22 cal round.
Not one was shot twice.
as for no stopping power a 22 is more than enough, a BB gun can stop an attack. Local woman used a gas powered BB gun in the face of a rapist. Didn't kill him but he did not finish the attack.
final note, on the ranch I work part time at, they have me kill sick well over 1,000 pound cows and bulls to put them out of their pain. Only one 22 cal round..
you dont have to just do single shot but use what you got for sure and dont overlook them. i know if i were hit by a 22 i might think twice about messing with you lol. i think a 22 would work great for changeing a bad guys mind lol good for small game hunting also dirt cheep ammo good multi roll gun
i agree. the whole art of owning/using a single shot has been shunned by all the lightning fast repeaters and autos of today. i remember as a kid i hated pumping my bb gun even but that taught me to treat every round as though it were my last. everyone should learn on a single shot.
I have a Marlin 81 from the 1980's that I have taken everything short of a deer with over the years. Thank you, I agree completely with your opinion because I have it for my survival rifle.
I think it is the single shot bolt action which rules it out more so than the low caliber as a self defense weapon. What if you miss? Or you hit the intruder and he is armed as well? I think a 12 gauge pump action is a much better home defense weapon - only about 300 bucks purchased new. Agreed your point that a well placed 22 round is deadly and it is a good weapon and tool for the homestead, but as I said I think a 12 gauge pump is your best bang for the buck on home defense. Peace.
@disclosurenow9 Just wanted to add. My dogs are just as valuable if not more so. Pay a visit to your humane society and visit death row. You might find a misunderstood dog who will love you and defend you for the rest of his life.
12 gauge does make a mess, for sure, seen once a hunter that dropped one and got shot in the guts.
as for defense. the odds are only 3 out of a thousand that you will have to fight for your life,
but on a day after dollar dies, all bets are off.
the single shot with CB caps will allow quite taking of game and defence equal to a firearm with a silencer at close range. is it perfect no even, but it is an option.
@donze52 deffenetly the wy to go,you dont need stopping power,its only psycic,and well plced shot is the best game. where i live ,guns re strictly forbidden unles its for sports or law, but gang members are still getting them and play tuff,they arent. pull a gun to show off isnt the same as using one.one shot,one kill (he´ll get spooked enyway)
Very interesting story about those French cadets. It's so true that the power of the .22 is underestimated. My dad told me that when he was in junior high, he knew a kid who had gone rabbit hunting with his dad and a friend. Someone got trigger happy and didn't make sure of their target, and the kid ended up getting shot. He was hit in one of his lungs and died right there. Lots of people of humble means have kept and successfully used them for protection. The .22 can and will kill.
@donze52 yes sir they are fun to shoot and r expensive now but my dad bought it from a guy whos wife was against guns but he loved them lol if she found a gun she wud threaten to divource him so he would sale them to my dad or one of his brothers they became good friends over the years hes unfortanitaly dead now my dad sayd i wouldve liked him so anyways my dad wound up paying like 175$ for it it might have been 275$ im not sure
@donze52 man i wish thats like half as much as you pay for a junky airsoft gun these days if i could buy guns for 12.50 with no paper work theres no tellin how many ide have
@donze52 Mr.Bill ive been watching alot of your videos lately and i realy like them ive watched a few where you minchened your tomahawk my uncle is a welder and hes a pretty nice guy so i asked him if he could make me a tomahawk and he sayd yeah so if i put a video up of it could you possibly have the time to watch it and tell me what you think Thanks, Colephus
I have a 1921 savage steven 22. long rifle and it still looks and shots like it is brand new, i love a 22., i also have a iver johnson 32. revalver and it was made is 1906, and i also have single shot 12
Just kidding . This is a real good video with good plain truth ! The military USED to try to tailor their rifles to great distances . Like 1000 yards . They have since came down to earth and realized that most engagements take place at 100 yards . A 22 is a FANTASTIC versatile weapon
my gun was a ruger 10/22 a .22 rifle. but why would i use a varmit gun to shoot a full sized man? y would i take the risk? spend a few more dollars (because i would hope ur life and ur families life is worth the extra cost) and get a 12 gauge shotgun. the most versatile gun in the world and the most usefule home defense weapon u can get
@donze52 but good sir....... why risk shooting and trying to stop somebody with a small round? why not spend a few extra dollars and buy a heavier caliber? it's almost like playing russian roullette with ur own life!!!! not worth it sir. i've read many a situation where people used small calibers that wouldn't put somebody down and they guy murdered or raped the person at hand
.22 lr will kill you, a .22 mag and .17 hmr have even more killing power. For a small calibur rimfire round they are powerful, fun and cheap shooting.
I know guys that think an AR15 is for home defense. Give me a break. Like you said 99% of the time a .22 is plenty, and you can afford to practice at the range.
@wobblerbobbler really? so it's all about the bare minimum? ok well use that logic when somebody kicks ur door in. because the bare minimum is all u care about right? i don't think so
wonderful videos and information, I got an old winchester model 67. Found it in my Great Grandmas house after she passed away. Have not shot it yet tho I cleaned it up, Hopefully can use it and someday pass it down to my kid if I ever have one.
I have Marlin .22 semi auto with a 10+1 mag, love it to death you can buy a ruger 10/22 and customize it just about any way you can think of. Highly efficient gun if you had to kill a man with one it works the exact same as your high caliber rifles and pistols. Bullet types are numerous as he said, lead heads, brassheads, hollow-points, rat shot/bird shot, cb caps (despite the low powder can go straight through a birds breast) etc... I am a proud owner of a .22 great learners weapon as well.
@donze52 Reckin bankers don't have sense of humors, probably to much of a risk for them to have. I am going on a dry spell as well soon. Next week I am moving back to my home land and I wont have internet for a while, I landed a job with a farmer and a crew building grain silos over the summer. Finally Mr. Bill, Nebraska is so close I can taste it. Good luck with the candy van, thanx for the contact. I am still hoping for a good tornado video. :)
@donze52 hey great lessons in your videos i cant help to notice your knife skills it would be great if you show us how you do those knife tricks with what i think you had an m1 bayonet i have 2 and would like to lean them
I haven't used a gun in years but I started with those flared led pellet guns (spring action) and then when I used a 22 I thought it was fabulous. I was pretty accurate with my dodgy pellet gun and the 22 was like a silver laser. I wasn't one of those kids who dreamt about being rambo I learned to make do with tools in front and that helps us be critcal yet highly functional, like you Mr. Bill. Peace
being an only kid on the farm, I always had a screw driver and throwing and spinning it.
made some hard cash in school and college kicking know it all knife throwers. only beaten once
by a guy, after wards as he walked away, I said who are you, all he said was Navy Seal, with my cash in his hand, may make a video some time of fast draw knife throwing, able to beat a gun for speed.
never owned a 22 mag, rifle, had when I was a kid, see the nieghbor shoot a deer with a 22 mag, not quite legal back then, but one shot did the job. and his family needed the meat, as they got hailed out that year.
My Uncle said he was glad he didn't face the japs with 22 mag rifles. good little pump would have made it a lot harder to take those islands. My uncle was wounded and never the same, by a jap bullet.
What was the name of that battle you spoke of in your video?

majinboo75 2 months ago
@DrunkMunkyy
Only one 22 cal round..
donze52 2 months ago
you dont have to just do single shot but use what you got for sure and dont overlook them. i know if i were hit by a 22 i might think twice about messing with you lol. i think a 22 would work great for changeing a bad guys mind lol good for small game hunting also dirt cheep ammo good multi roll gun
monstarmarkum 2 months ago
@monstarmarkum
Yep use what you got, was just putting the info about 22 cal.
as a all around weapon that is all to often over looked.
including as a weapon of war.
thanks for imput keep safe this winter
donze52 2 months ago
i agree. the whole art of owning/using a single shot has been shunned by all the lightning fast repeaters and autos of today. i remember as a kid i hated pumping my bb gun even but that taught me to treat every round as though it were my last. everyone should learn on a single shot.
BAGboy0032 2 months ago
@BAGboy0032
you said a mouth full, so many including cops and Army think the only way to kill
is to empty clips of ammo at a target. If they had to pay for that ammo their selves
bet they would flip the lever to shoot one shot at a time.
Thanks for your imput have a safe holiday season and a good year to come.

single shot anything should be discontinued unless it's a cannon
mumbleye 2 months ago
@mumbleye
we agree to disagree, in fact I wish cops would go back to
revolvers or like county sherrif when I was a kid carried
a double barrel 22 mag derringer. and nothing else, save a
shot gun in the trunk of his car.
I love single shots, one shot one kill, instead of
the 1,500 rounds to kill an enemy in vietnam. or are you
to young to have been there.
thanks though for your imput, have a perfect Christmas

Excellent video Bro.. Well done!
BushcraftOnFire 3 months ago

You might find a misunderstood dog who will love you and defend you for the rest of his life.
disclosurenow9 3 months ago
@disclosurenow9
12 gauge does make a mess, for sure, seen once a hunter that dropped one and got shot in the guts.
as for defense. the odds are only 3 out of a thousand that you will have to fight for your life,
but on a day after dollar dies, all bets are off.
the single shot with CB caps will allow quite taking of game and defence equal to a firearm with a silencer at close range. is it perfect no even, but it is an option.
thanks for the contact.
donze52 3 months ago

@JulietBravoZulu
thanks for contact, yep sad to say a bullet has no mercy even a little 22 cal.
but a people can also be killed or have their lives destoryed by BB guns. from just an eye put out
to a temple shot that kills. I have long said hunters safety should be required in all schools.
also consider a knife safety course
see my video ( Are their knives in your school)

Wow that is one durable rifle. I was wondering who is the manufacturer of the rifle and the model of the rifle.

my wife's rifle is a harrington & Richardson Rifle (Pioneer) single shot
if memory serves me it was the second 22 rifle we owned, so we could both shoot
when plinking or shooting parrie Dogs for ranchers, that was good money back in the 1970's:
aint sure they even make such a tool, but bet there are plenty out there used.

Just kidding . This is a real good video with good plain truth ! The military USED to try to tailor their rifles to great distances . Like 1000 yards . They have since came down to earth and realized that most engagements take place at 100 yards . A 22 is a FANTASTIC versatile weapon
skunedknuckle 5 months ago
@skunedknuckle
yep a good 22 is valuable a friend as you need most of the time
sadly many of the land owners I hunt points on, forbid firearms
so I carry a BB pistol or my old red rider BB rifle.
they also are worth the wieght in gold, they can kill a rattler at 20 feet
rather than trying to beat one to death at 4 foot.

my gun was a ruger 10/22 a .22 rifle. but why would i use a varmit gun to shoot a full sized man? y would i take the risk? spend a few more dollars (because i would hope ur life and ur families life is worth the extra cost) and get a 12 gauge shotgun. the most versatile gun in the world and the most usefule home defense weapon u can get
79pensacola 5 months ago
@79pensacola
you speak wisdom but a shot gun is over kill for a man,
plus 500 --- 22 shells wieght is lot less to carry than 12 gauge,
as for 12 gauge each to his own,
I only point out dollar for dollar a good single shot 22 is impossible to beat for what it can do.
pray health and the wisdom to keep it for you an your family
donze52 5 months ago
@donze52 but good sir....... why risk shooting and trying to stop somebody with a small round? why not spend a few extra dollars and buy a heavier caliber? it's almost like playing russian roullette with ur own life!!!! not worth it sir. i've read many a situation where people used small calibers that wouldn't put somebody down and they guy murdered or raped the person at hand
79pensacola 5 months ago
@79pensacola
no problem use what you feel you need to, 22 cal. is for those of use who have used it, killed with it.and trust it,
hell on the farm we killed wounded cattle with one shot to put them out of their missery. that is a 1,000 pound animal.
always shoot for the head makes bullet proof vest worthless.
keep safe.
donze52 5 months ago
.22 lr will kill you, a .22 mag and .17 hmr have even more killing power. For a small calibur rimfire round they are powerful, fun and cheap shooting.

I know guys that think an AR15 is for home defense. Give me a break. Like you said 99% of the time a .22 is plenty, and you can afford to practice at the range.
1234bogusname 6 months ago
@1234bogusname
for centuries a single shot gun put food on the table, defended families from animals or bad men
from stealing food supplies or forcing women to submit to evil.
Good thing about a single shot, the guy your fighting knows you will not shoot for the arm--
head shot is the only option, with bullet proof vest around
donze52 6 months ago

XxXDemynXxX 11 months ago
I have Marlin .22 semi auto with a 10+1 mag, love it to death you can buy a ruger 10/22 and customize it just about any way you can think of. Highly efficient gun if you had to kill a man with one it works the exact same as your high caliber rifles and pistols. Bullet types are numerous as he said, lead heads, brassheads, hollow-points, rat shot/bird shot, cb caps (despite the low powder can go straight through a birds breast) etc... I am a proud owner of a .22 great learners weapon as well.
XxXDemynXxX 11 months ago
I have a 22 magnum, it is just awesome. Its very fun to shoot

I have made near 120 films on youtube, and yes I do have dry spells. or time bites me,
changed over and got newer candy van, had old van for 9 years, was causing trouble.
this new one is 11 year old but runs and looks better and the public demands
nice stores or they will not come, can't blame them but hard to buy, my banker aint got
a sence of humor., am working on new stuff, maybe by the weekend, thanks for contact,
keep your blade and mind sharp but never your tongue
donze52 11 months ago
@donze52 Reckin bankers don't have sense of humors, probably to much of a risk for them to have. I am going on a dry spell as well soon. Next week I am moving back to my home land and I wont have internet for a while, I landed a job with a farmer and a crew building grain silos over the summer. Finally Mr. Bill, Nebraska is so close I can taste it. Good luck with the candy van, thanx for the contact. I am still hoping for a good tornado video. :)

Bill. Peace
oatstao 11 months ago
@oatstao
keep safe, the nation and your family and friends may
need your wisdom. yep jumping from pellet to 22 was like going from the stone age
to the age of iron. not perfect but heck of a lot better. still pellet has its place. In the 1950's we
the rambo of the day was dannel boone. my father was a share cropper and boy it hurt to see all the kids
with a fake coon skin hat and we couldn't afford one, finally did get one when I started hunting
and trapping.

excellent mr. bill, i love my .17 but i am gettin a .22 soon as ammo much cheaper to build up another home run on vids keep it up

when I was able to shoot loud guns, I almost got a 17, but my gunsmith buddy
said the wind will kill your accuracy. So I jumped to the 30-06 for deer
