  • the business is all about making money

you lose but you get paid several thousand more for the fixed bout

  • LOL! read the discription i guess coleman wants to bomb pearl harbor

  • Takada fixed alot if not all of his fights, and i think bass and quarry? (dont remember his name) knew about it in this fight

  • His only real disgrace was attacking shogun after shogun broke his arm in their first fight.

  • He wasnt paid, the japanese guy is just better.

  • @blabla94400 lol look at what coleman does before he taps. he waives his arm around (am i gonna tap? aren't I?). when someone taps it means they cannot take the pain anymore, or they believe un-repairable damage is being done to their body. Therefore a person as competitive as mark coleman would not make such a theatrical and blatantly fake gesture such as the one he makes before tapping. gullible. fake

  • @th3rn It was the kind of tap a guy gives 59 minutes into an iron man match and Ric Flair just slapped on the figure four leg lock.

  • @kajjagoogoo lol exactomundo

  • @th3rn "Therefore a person as competitive [...]" I do think so, he is too competitive for getting paid to give up.

And look at the leglock, a few second more and his foot was broken (sorry, i don't know how to say this part of the leg in english).

Any way, he wasn't paid it wasn't with a small organisation, but the wich was the best of the best (rip Pride lol)

And at this time, Coleman was in bad time he loss something like 3 or 4 time before this loss.

  • @blabla94400 Coleman admitted he took a dive, the commentators are baffled by what happens & the performance itself is obviously fishy. It was fixed, end of story.

  • Wow those are some pulled punches from mark during the whole fight. If this wasn't worked he would have been fucking crashing Takada.Fucking WWF bullshit.

  • Yeah, coleman was holding back. Had so much more could do vs chump like this

  • I remember watching the fight and going WTF? Then Bas sounded skeptical as hell. What just happened? I don't believe this.... Not that he didn't believe it, he didn't BELIEVE it. You can also tell by Marks refusal to look up afterwards.

  • Mark Coleman disgraces America by trying feeding his family? He lost 3 fights in a row and had no money!

  • @SuperMcg25 The money he made came from the fans who paid to see him: the same fans that he and Nobuhiko Takada conned with this fight.

  • @plankcore He had two young daughters at the time and worked as a bouncer. He was feeding his family and follwoing the american dream of having no money.

  • Disgraces America? Americans didn't choose Coleman as a representative, nor did he ask to represent America. Coleman, like all fighters, represents himself in the ring.

  • @Darkray16 americans didn't choose coleman to represent them, which is why he is such an honest and truthful representation of american culture.

  • @th3rn

This is ridiculous. So you're saying american culture is what? The type that throw fights? You're saying this individual man represents 300million people?

"such an honest and truthful representation of american culture"

american culture is so diverse its really hard to say he represents anything but himself without looking like a fucking asshole. we could find some well known and well loved fighters from every country that have thrown fights.

If every fighter represents their nation.

  • @oODropshotOo american culture is diverse but remember to keep the statement contextualised. I was not referring to american culture in totality; merely this aspect of it (sport, violence, theatre, capitol, fame, performance etc).

The reason why it represents that aspect of american culture so well is the theatrical nature of the performance, coupled with the naivety of fans who think it's real, offset against the constant tension of will he fake it or will he go all out? fame or money?

  • @Darkray16 However Mark Coleman was a representative for the American Olympic Freestyle wrestling team. So yes, he did represent America.

  • @JamesHarmeson

This wasn't the olympics so he's not representing anyone inside the ring but himself. America didn't pick him for some team of mma fighters he and his management decided on this fight.

If I wanted to I could condemn millions of innocent people using the same logic you're using. We need to start looking at people for what they really are, individuals. This nationalist viewpoint where everybody from +-

  • LEG PUNCH

  • retardedly fake

  • this looks soooo fucken staged.

  • Its funny how Bas and Quadros are like what the hell is he doing!!

  • I lost a lot of respect for coleman after watching this fight. You could tell how weak those knees were and he didnt throw any knees to the head which he always did. Also he wasnt even squeezing when he had that neck crank. You could tell Bas knew it was fake.

  • Any one who has seen coleman fight or who know how to fight knows this work wasnt even believable. this finish looks like bad pro wrestling

  • i KNEW those fights in japan were sketchy as hell.

  • Coleman transitioned from side mount to his guard, good strategy.

  • @RoussDogg That was the part that baffled me most. It wasn't even like he was trying to jump to mount and the guy defended. He just hopped in the guard like it was his plan all along.

  • Mark coleman had 15 wins and he beat 14 BUMS(one fight with shogun in which he got lucky) - ya think I'm lying go check his record.

  • The Yakuza wants you to lose, you lose.He has a family and if not else,he was going to get fired had he won.

  • that joke about Pearl Harbor not funny one bit, i get your point but an event like that noo sir shame on you.

  • @Paintinprettypicture

He must have forgot it was in the American "No man, not cool" book.

  • @Paintinprettypicture 4.bp.blogspot.com/_Q-_JBeoRdUE/STx464mSPeI/AAAAAAAANnI/SlWhYODAjFo/s1600-h/PEARL_HARBOR_warning.jpg

  • Coleman is a stud!

  • This looked like a wwe match

  • It wasn't a real fight it was a WWE type of show

  • Comment removed

  • i used to throw fights...then i took an arrow in the knee...

  • @ocho070707

    You are a humungous faggot.

  • @saisumimen

    ...spell check

  • Comment removed

  • @walmartian555 no, only his wins.

  • What the fuck?! Coleman didnt even fuckin try! If he really got paid off then he was clearly showin that he could easily win. I coulda got outta that heel hook! Not sayin that to b cocky, im just sayin Coleman coulda got out... And he coulda won at any time.

  • Where did joe rogan talk about this?

    Can anyone link me?

Also for other fixed fights, search nobuhiko takada vs kyle sturgeon

  • @JOSETV1 It's on his podcast. I think its episode 161 or 163, the one with eddie bravo.

  • @644tad #160 I'm watching it right now.

  • @JOSETV1 all takada fights when he wins or draws are fixed

  • @JOSETV1 podcast w/bas

  • joe rogan

  • LOL Yep samehere... Joe Rogan's greatest fight ever podcast brought me here too... Does anyone know anymore fixed mma fights?

  • Is that even a real lock? That doesn't look like it would hurt at all....

  • @mjordan1998 Bas said that Coleman threw the fight. Coleman said after the fight "It was what it was. I needed to support my family."

  • THE MOST RIGGED FIGHT I'VE EVER SEEN!

  • JESSS !!

  • Damn you joe rogan!

  • Joe Rogan and Eddie Bravo sent me here!!!

  • Rogan made me come here 2 hahaha Train by day Joe rogan podcast by night all day

  • Joe got me too, Eddie actually

  • Train by day, Joe Rogan Podcast by night, all day! what a fuckin fix!

  • @Asqared do you have a link to the exact podcast ?

  • Joe Rogan sends me everywhere across You Tube.

  • joe rogan podcast

  • People talking shit on Takada probably don't realise that Pride would have never continued past the first show if he didn't continue fighting. KRS was bleeding money and show attendance dropped off because Takada kept losing. He needed this win for Pride to survive.

  • @PunkRingOfHonorX Still no excuse to fix a fight.

  • WWE works much better!

  • pathetic

  • "What is he doing?!" Bas acting

  • Holy shit that was bad

  • Joe Rogan made me come here

  • @crazynutt45 hahahaha me 2 lol

  • Comment removed

  • 8:26 onwards, Mark was like '' Lock me in! U idiot!!''

  • kevin randeleman vs shogun is the same. and he his teammate

  • Bart Vale vs Ken Shamrock is definitely the most obviously worked fight.

  • said in an interview, "It was what it was. I needed to support my family. They guaranteed me another fight after that and I needed that security. It was what it was. I'm going to leave it at that

That pretty much tells us everything

  • lol looked like wrestling

  • to be fair, if i was offered 50k to throw a fight i would....especially if i get paid like shit like they did 12 years ago

  • Anderson must of got paid to take a dive too, because he only lost to japanese fighters.

  • @axxesmerdas When Anderson lost to a flying heel hook (against a Japanese fighter), his foot was turned to a scary angle, though. Looked legit, but the move is usually so impossible to pull off in a real match that the Yakuza connections will always make that loss look rigged. I guess we will never know.

  • id do that too for that amout of money if i was an mma fighter...or maybe i wouldnt i dunno

  • bas talked about this on the rogan podcast, he says he was told the outcome from the promoters

  • oh no! lol

  • Bawwwwww

So it was rigged and yes it was disgraceful but really pearl harbor?

People who think that a personal decision for monetary gain means they are anti american if it involves someone from another country

  • that is disgraceful

  • So were all the fights rigged

  • @TheunstopableDouche No.

Very very few, maybe 1 or 2 in the very early PRIDE events.

  • Bas and the other guy (I'm sorry i fucking forget his name but i like him as a color commentator) sound fucking pissed

  • @MrAsb97 Stephen "The Fight Professor" Quadros is the other dude's name. And I agree, they sound pissed. You can tell they know it's a work.

  • @MrAsb97 This was a fixed match and Bas hate fixed matches but he "had" to do since it was hes job.

  • @MrAsb97 Stephen Quadros

  • disgrace

  • I'm listening to Joe Rogan's podcast guest starring Bas Rutten...He's talking about this fight right now saying that "the word" was that Mark was going to throw the fight...He said it ticked him off, and when he was pre-interviewed about who he thought would win, be basically said exactly what was going to happen to the interviewer to see if it were really true....SMH at Pride AND Coleman! If Coleman didnt claim to be a "real" fighter, then I'd probably wouldn't care less.

  • Wow, way to lay down Mark.

  • What a joke. Coleman could have killed this guy. But I can fault Coleman, he claims that Pride was not going to offer him any more fights if he did not take a dive. A mans got to feed his family.

  • Gypsy is one of the tags for this fight. Interesting!

    It is a disgrace...for real.

  • wow....that really looked fake

  • lmao colemans trying to let him win but takada sucks too much

  • You can tell it's a work right away simply because of how many opportunities he didn't take. Those opportunities are only even presented to him in the first place because the OTHER fighter knows this shit is rigged too, so he isn't worried about getting beaten. But it looks so fake. MMA fighters like to talk shit now and then about Pro Wrestling like the WWE, but maybe next time Coleman wants to throw a fight, he should watch some old Stone Cold Steve Austin matches or something, learn to sell.

  • @BaronVonGodzilla he should not have thrown the fight but in his defense he had to feed his family and pride did not pay that much and he got paid more to throw the fight.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn uploader, hysterical hate much? Disgracing america, bombing peal harbour.... grow up.

  • Damn! Coleman sucks!

  • Why coleman He got Paid 50 000 dollars just to let tht japanese ass win

Well pretty fair tho coz we all know tht japan freak gonan get his Face Fucked tht why the japan paid coleman

  • @SkiPpEr1561 His fight money and win money would probably only be around 10k.

  • This is fighter vs fighter, not nation vs nation. If Coleman threw the fight, then he only screwed himself.

  • @DrBananaKing7000 But Coleman didnt screw himself. Not only did he get paid well for throwing the fight, but he also got to fight for the Pride Openweight Grand Prix which he won.

  • @taekwon3000 True, the man's got a family to feed. So nobody should cast stones at him.

  • Did you guys see those punches at 7:17? What a joke!

  • @babyface0514 I take it you don't know Coleman. Dues a roided out doof. Take a look at some of his actions like stomping wandys head.

  • So much shit happened in pride. I hope one day someone comes forth with all of the truths even down to who used what

  • Coleman could have ended this fight in the second he wanted if this wasn't fixed. Takada is so out of Coleman's league, especially a beast like Prime Coleman

  • I would have said fuck the bullshit. I'm going back to America!!

  • What about a third option: You still are a fucking retard schizofrenic asshole.

  • Just fast forward to 9:40 if you want to see what happens.

  • lol bas knew straight away.

  • The uploader's comments are sensationalistic and completely unnecessary.

  • 9:00 coleman is blatantly setting himself for a triangle here?

  • at first i was like... how do yall even know it was a scam fight? then i watched it....and it made more sence. haha. wow

  • Bas sounds so upset the whole fight!!!

  • @brettmarkusic I don't think so.

you'd know if bas was 'so upsest'

  • @kiwidubz you don't hear his voice? He knew the fight was a fix. Watch Joe Rogan's podcast that Bas was on, he explains the whole thing.

  • so can anyone show proof fight was fixed instead of making alligations. and im sorry people-he did it too support his family, any real family and real person for that matter would not take a dive no matter what. and if its fixed and him n his family knew, i have absolutely no respect for punks like that. if it is really fixed-it shows coleman n his familys' weakness and lack of character and coleman as a fighter-well what fighter, if this is true- coleman is a fake ass punk made bitch

  • @babyface0514 You honestly Have no idea what you are talking about. lol.

From you calling coleman a punk made bitch, I can tell youve never stepped in the ring before yourself.

Family always comes first. If they offered me a contract with lots of money and all I had to do was throw a fight in another country, fuck yea, food on the table and a roof over my familys head. Don't insult a veteran of the sport when you have no idea what its like to even be in the ring or have a family to feed.

  • @babyface0514 Go tell Coleman in his face he is a bitch. U would not cause ur the bitch, faggot. Coleman did this in Japan were regulations r not strickly enforced. N u dont know the whole story as to why Coleman threw the fight. Keeping in mind that Coleman was working for Takada in his Pro Wrestling org, n Pride offer him good money n more fights in Japan, especially with MMA going thru the dark ages in America.

  • Comment removed

  • THIS video title is retarded, Coleman through a fight, anyone who knows anything about him knows he was under serious pressure at the time. The guy has done wonderous things for the sport, infact he is the sport, and he has definitely paid his dues and has his regrets. He is a hero, and a hall of famer for a reason. I hate that when you put his name into youtube that this is what comes up. Fucking asshole original poster should take this down or rename it.

  • How is this disgracing America?? you're making it seem like it's a racist thing. He needed the money to support his family. leave it like that.

  • i love how confused the announcers sounds when coleman gets caught. "NO NO NO!" "What the hell?"... one thing i wonder is if Takada knew it was a fixed fight also? seems like he could have gone for more submissions earlier unless both fighters knew an arranged time for the fight to end

  • Could that finish have been anymore blatant. It was like Kurt Angle grabbing an Ankle Lock on Brock. Only much worse.

  • The thing that strikes me the most in this fight is that the commentators obviously know what's going on from the get go.

  • @SteroidsMakeMeStrong The commentary for the Pride 1-8 English tapes was done around 2001-2. Watch Pride 3 and laugh your ass off at the commentary mistakes.

  • @FATwengler

lol I didn't know that but it makes sense.

  • What does USA have to do with Mark Coleman? MMA isn't some national sport where he represents USA you stupid patriotic fucks.

  • this is a matter of honor, and respect for the sport, obviously neither mark coleman or TheTNWrestler have any sense or self respect or honor,As a mixed martial artist,i have to say this is the most disgraceful thing you can do to ur fellow fighters n the sport period,Especially in a sport constantly heckled by naive politians n regular everyday civilians....im disgusted even sayin tht mark coleman is a mma artist, not even a good 1 at that,WE DONT DO THIS FOR THE MONEY WE DO IT FOR A DREAM

  • @TheKOKing504 I am so happy to see I've made such a good impact on your life. A dream my ass. I've been following this sport for over a decade. If it's a dream, then just go to the UFC and fight for free! Oh, didn't think you would. I don't like it was rigged, but it was a life or death situation for his career and life. And everyone knows it is fake so it's not like he's denying it.

  • @TheKOKing504 STFU wit ur over dramatic bullshit u bitch. This was in 1999. MMA was not even that established yet, UFC n America was going thru a dark age n practically on its death bed, and Japanese MMA had a very closed link Pro Wrestling in Japan n Pride was still just a baby. Even in Pancrase there were lots of works. Coleman was not thinking of that honor bullshit for a sport not even established, he was thinking of doing what was best for him n his family. Go fuck of with ur bitch ass.

  • the other "guy" everyone , his name is Stephen quadros

  • LMAO!! Bas and they other guy were like wtf. Theres no... what... oh nooo.

  • LMAO!! Bas and they other guy were like wtf.

  • @ 5:30......1999 mMarkColeman in Full Mount!!!! Any fighter would have been DONE....Definetly Fixed but, like tnawrestler said, gott pay the bills right

  • everybody's gotta get paid

  • That's pretty gay.

  • I liked mark Coleman until I saw this. Watching that clip, you cannot dispute that it was a work. Coleman, you are dead to me

  • how bout fujita vs mark kertr

  • i'm an asian and at first i was proud when takada won...but is it true that this is all just a drama??? how shameful not only for japan but also asian, none for american...just do ur drama at pro wrestling u LITTLE FAT JAPANESSE LOSER!!!!!!!

  • disgrace what, ever since america is a disgrace, iluminati stuffs, stage a war against other country, what else is disgracing?

  • Only fucking homos watch this stuff.

  • @Mu5clehead Yeah that is why u r watching it urself OBviously by posting a comment on here you faggot inbred retard.

  • asian's kung fu or all of that crap is useless in real street fight

  • Bas Rutten comments about this fight on Joe Rogan's podcast he just had earlier today. He also talks about other fixed fights that happened in RINGS and Pancrase. Really cool stuff, if you're interested you should check it out and it's Bas Rutten telling awesome stories. You should watch all of it if you have time because it's really good, but that part is around the 1 hour 5 minute mark.

  • @miloandot Bas also says they knew Coleman was going to lose with a heel hook early in the second round because that was the word he had heard in the locker room. Thats why the commentating sounds so fake and not genuine. When you really LISTEN you can hear a difference compared to how they normally commentate. I haven't looked for the interview yet, but he said when he was doing interviews before the fight he called the fight to end exactly the way it did and Pride was pissed at him for it.

  • @miloandot can you give a link??

  • @dxmakina Just go to ustream and look up Joe Rogan. All of the podcasts he has done are archived.

  • I don't understand all the hate towards coleman and all the statements saying that he sucked? The guy was a true pioneer, he created the Ground and Pound fighting system. He paved the way other great wrestlers who made a transition into MMA. I think the guy deserves some serious respect regardless if he had an isolated incident of fight fixing, in which he needed the money to support his family.

  • WHATS WITH ALL THESE STORIES MAN, COLEMAN SUCKS ANYWAY

  • He did not disgrace America when he dented the 27 year old at the time unstoppable Vovchanchyn's head with knees. The hate he gets now is so disrespectful. Only if you were around from the late 90s and early 2000s would know how much of a beast he was.

  • @bluuurrr do you think his victory over Vovchanchyn was even genuine? I think he was guaranteed victory in the Pride 2000 GP for having agreed to take a loss to Takada in this fight/

  • Did you say harbour? You dont kno anything british asshole

  • its such a shame that life gets in the way of the fighting sports so oftain. boxing is the worst effected. as every one knows, theres no such thing as an unfixed boxing fight and has'nt been for years now. i just hope the Athletes who compete in MMA dont succumb to the same fate.

  • this guy sucks i have always hated coleman
