  • If there's a rock n' roll heaveyn, Dio probably replaced someone really cool.

  • Much respect to Ozzy, but Dio just kills on this song!! I heard Live Evil when I was 11 and that was it for me, man. Dio rules!!

  • this is terrifying o__o

  • I dont give a fuk about the 70's . thats when i was born. i give a fuck about the 80's when real metal came out, ac/dc back in black, ace of spades motor head, and tons of great records and the best metal period of time and it happen to fall right into DIO SABBATH HEAVEN N HELL, MOB FUCKING RULES, LIVE FUCKING EVIL!!! GO AND SUCK 70's METAL COCK YOU FUCKIN DUMB ASS BITCH!!! I BET U WHERE NOT EVEN BORN AT THAT TIME EIGTHER AND IF YOU WHERE YOU R A FUCKING OLD TROLL, U PIECE OF SHIT!!!!

  • Dio was one of the best vocalist ever, but not in Ozzy-era Sabbath's songs.

  • @MyNameIsPABL0 ... and why not? ozzy cant sing worth shit! no feelings, no emotion, no power no nothing! can Ozzy sing a Ronnie James Dio song? that will be imposible for him to do and a tottal joke. as a matter of fact he wouldnt be able to sing anybodys song. Dio is a hell of a vocalist and can do wat ever he wishes with his own style simply cuz he can sing!!!!

  • @MetalkingDio Dio is better vocalist than Ozzy, but BS' songs from 70s sounds better with Osbourne.

  • Dio lives on and god bless his mutha fuckin soul!

  • Dio does this song way better then Ozzy

  • Dio is the grandwizard of heavy metal

  • Holy shit! this is so massive and godlike

  • Dio will keep in our minds, and his voice will go on in our ears

    R.I.P. Dio

  • my dad absoltely loathes Heart, and he does love Dio...he thinks he is one of the greatest rock and metal singers of all time.. but he would rather buy the full collection of Heart discography than ever listen to this song again

  • wow, looks like me and my dad are the only people who think this version is WAY worse... its too slow, and it never even speeds up, ever

  • @Hazethebassist ... well this song is a SLOW SONG. Dio sings is more gothic thats it! i love everything Ronnie sings so to me its a great version. ozzy is an original but Dio rips your soul!!!!!

  • Dio sounds fucking godly singing this song! I really wish I could find a better recording of this.

  • Ok, from an old. long time Sabbath fan, huge fan of Randy Rhoads and Dio... trying to be completely objective....Dio did Sabbath better than Ozzy did. Sorry, but his voice just fit better, even though Ozzy's the original. Ozzy is nothing without an awesome songwriting guitar player (Iommi, Rhoads and Lee..Wylde is a chump). I know he's sold lots of records, but the only good solo stuff he ever did is his first 3 albums (rhoads and lee). Oz said it himself in '81: "Dio sings me under the table"

  • I was at this show when they came through Seattle in 1982, and in a very rock'n'roll state of mind... still one of the most intense concerts I've ever been to.

  • @james22554 You were at THIS show?! Who did Sabbath open for-or did someone for them? What venue was the concert at? 1982, huh? I was 12, in the sixth grade, and JUST GETTING INTO metal! The Number of The Beast, Screaming For Vengeance, Diary of A Madman, and a HOST of others!

  • @AngelofAnguish ... this was the mob rules tour!!! sabbath was NOT opening for anybody. at this point they where enjoying juge sucsess!!!

  • @AngelofAnguish --- thanks for the reply comment, dude. This may well have been the same performance. Not sure about the venue from the video, but if this is Seattle in '82, then it was this show. I don't recall who opened for them.. it was quite a while ago and I was in a perfect 'concert state of mind' that night, but I do remember that when they played 'The Mob Rules' the whole place went ballistic! Dio could have led a riot against DC at that moment. The Mob did indeed rule...

  • @AngelofAnguish --- thanks for the reply comment, dude. I was a soldier at Fort Lewis back then. This may well have been the same performance. Not sure about the venue from the video, but if this is Seattle in '82, then it was this show. I don't recall who opened for them.. it was quite a while ago and I was freakin' toasted that night, but I do remember that when they played 'The Mob Rules' the whole place went ballistic! The Mob did indeed rule...

  • Type in Ian Gillan tapes and you will hear the absolute version of this song ever. It was recorded at the Worcester centrum in 83. Worcester is a city 45 miles west of Boston Mass.

  • @gethsenamane ... its a good version, but nothing like Dio's. in my opinion Ian just doesnt capture the essence of Sabbath. i guess he was way too PURPLE!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my God, this is the way this song must be sing!

    Fuc#$% awesome. DIO RULES.

  • love the camera work at 4:30

  • Dio was great during this time of Sabbath. I feel he really captured this song and made it his own. I like both Dio and Ozzy. The best stuff is from the 1st 2 singers. Some of the later Sabbath is good but, it don't compare to the older stuff.

  • GREAT!! KICK ASS!!!

  • Dio ruled this song.\m/

  • Dio is fcking awesome!!!

But he is not the Prince of Fcking Darkness...(:

  • Dio truly makes this song as frightening as it always deserved to be. Cause he's fucking Dio. AND HE LIVES ON, MOTHERFUCKERS!

  • @battousaiashe because Dio was fucking Metal and Ozzy is a fucking retard :)

  • Dio- Osbourne : Game, set and match Dio, 3 sets to love : 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.

  • i don't give a damn what anyone says, this version with dio kicks fucking ass!

ian gillan did a pretty lethal version on king biscuit flower hour from worcester,

    mass. on the 1983 tour.

there is a full soundboard audio recording of that show. my copy is all fucked off, i need a new copy. that show fucking rules!!

    oh, btw, yeah......i'm fucking drunk!

nothing like plenty of good beer and strong wine to0 get you hammered!!

    E=mc hammered!!!!!

    hahahahahahahaha!!!!

  • wow i read some comments and lost knowledge. shut the fuck up!!!!!! sick off bitchs that post gay ass comments. do your mom a favor and move out of her house and stop posting

  • no mames!!!!, aqui esta el pinche diablo!!!!!

  • Dio just dick smacked Ozzy in his no talent face once again with this amazing display!! DIO IS A GOD!! It is sad he is gone but at least we now know he is our actual god looking over us now. Let's all follow his example and stop this bullshit wannabe metal out there today and start playing from our balls again!! That is the Dio way!!

  • @ModalGroove Some of you don't know shit about metal music. RJD is "a" rock God but OZZY is the metal God and OZZY is the lead singer for the greatest metal band ever BLACK SABBATH

  • @bethdoug ... ummmm get out of this videos comment board. You are tainting the REAL GOD OF ALL METAL destroy that no talent pop-metal ass clown Ozzy Osbourne that hasn't written a lyric or song in his entire life, sounds like fighting cats, uses a million speakers around him to cover up his horrible singing the best they can but still sound like shit, reads a teleprompter for EVERYTHING and STILL cant remember lyrics, never shuts the fuck up during a song, and needs a filter 100% of the time

  • @ModalGroove ja ja ja... you are awsome!!!!! right on!!!!!

  • @MetalkingDio - thanks bro lol I gotta put these tone deaf Ozzy fans in their place with actual facts sometimes, they really annoy me.. lol =)

May the Dio be with you

  • @bethdoug ... one more thing for you to think about.. No real "god of metal" screams "GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!" every fucking 10 seconds while he screams over any sort of playing his band does.. NO real metal man would EVER use THAT as a line. It's just about the most un-metal thing anybody could ever possibly say.... I prefer THE REAL GOD OF METAL, RONIIE JAMES DIO, screaming at me to burn in hell like a real man of metal should.

  • @ModalGroove ja ja ja!!!! that is a good one! and the funny thing is that you are right!!!!!!! ............'He said come with me cuz i know just wat to do, and i say.. FUK OFF im gona burn in HELL with all of you!!!!!!!!!

  • @ModalGroove so true!!!!!

  • rest in piece dio hope your grave has a giant hand with the devil horns

  • With all respect to the Prince of darkness, Ronnie James Dio was my only Black Sabbath! Like many people would agree Dio was the 80's Sabbath the best period in Heavy Metal Music history!!!! We love you so much Ronnie! GOD BLESS!!! Your Music and legasy will live in the Hearts of every True Rocker 4 eternity \m/

  • wow the lion roar!!!! Best voice ever....DIO u r the KING

  • RIP \m/

  • I grow up with your music

Your Music will be always here to remember you

    I don't forget you

    Thank you Ronnie James Dio

  • Rest In Peace Ronnie...You Rock!!! \,,/,

  • rip ronnie...

  • RIP (rock in peace) thanx for tghe music, im 14, never seen you but am proud to be able to say ive lived in your lifetime

  • What sucks the most is as the godfathers of heavy metal and rock and roll get old and sick and die, there is no one worthy to take their place, and new music just gets worse and worse. THIS, however, and such like it, will always give me solace. Thank you.

  • Gonna miss you buddy!

    Never forget you!

Still remember growing up in the 80's and how one year you were voted vocalist of the year when you were not even listed as a choice!!

When has such a small frame held such raw metal screaming power?!

  • @hickorydickoryduck --beautiful comment. Nearly brought a tear to my eye.

LONG LIVE, RONNIE JAMES \m/ !!!!!

  • RJD foi um daqueles que fizeram minha juventude mais feliz!

Que o Grande sábio do universo o acolha e que muito Rock & Roll de qualidade role no paraíso! RDJ está lá!!

  • adios a un grande de el metal

  • its defiling this great song! Kill it! Kill it!

  • so, would this not have been heaven and hell then?

  • dio rules!!!

  • Dio wrote great songs & sang them powerfully however when this Geezer Butler composition was sung by a 1969 version of John Osbourne (who's voice still had remnants of puberty) it was far heavier then anything that Mr Dio did.

Theres no argument that Dio's vocals had a far greater range its just that the vocals on the first and second Black Sabbath album were so utterly different then anything previous that even an incredible talent like RJD still can't compare to Osbournes 1969-70' tonality.

  • black sabbath with dio is as good as with ozzy... listen well and you'll see it.

  • Love that laugh at 3:38-3:41. Perfect.

  • Rock actually ROCKED back then!

  • Yeah! this song is better sang by Dio!

I love the scenography! Wah I want to return to the past!

  • black sabbath isn't sabbath without ozzy

  • thanks for posting this. drove through the snow to bingley hall to see them on this tour. happy memories

  • This was the 80's SABBATH! and Dio was just fantastic!

  • i've always lovde Ozzy singing this, but RJD gave me chills up and down my spine!

  • @nonaverageblonde1260 you aint lieing

  • @nonaverageblonde1260 too bad i can't type worth shit

  • Legends...

  • What date is this one? If its Jan 2nd 1982 I was there!

  • An Ozzy song, but in my opinion Dio sings it better.

  • agree

  • I bet they summened some big evil satan licking moon barkung spirits that nigt. Maybe that is why we have so bad things happening in the world...... don't worry, just a sick joke.

  • fucking awsome!

  • interesting interpretation rjd.

  • march 4th 1982 boston garden.thats my first concert and this was the same tour.awesome memories i shall never forget the date look it up march 4th in boston i was there for the mob rules tour.

  • awesome that was my 2nd show. saw VH at the garden in 81!

  • 82, they had 8 mill. or vhs cams. And it was still wrong for stealing it.Dio is a great artist,as well as the sabbith boys.and they are in their 60's!God bless em, the grandfathers of metal!!!!!!

  • This is "Black Sabbath", not "Mob Rules".

  • i dont know are you?

  • Ozzy is not a retard but dio is a better singer

  • Ozzy is not retarded but Dio is a better singer for sure

  • I seen this, But, Horrible recording!!!!!

  • Yeah because there was a time when people didn't actually have cameras in the cell phones. They didn't even have cell phones. No one at this show had a cell phone.

But back then music rocked and people were cool and shows weren't these huge spectacle bullshit by 60 year old guys. It was rock and it was real.

Now you have good recordings of big, huge shows but it's nostalgia. Nothing new and good.

So enjoy the past, son. Record it on your iPhone :(

So enjoy the past, son. And

  • Thanks for sharing this incredible vid kingfowley, thanks depechemodehome, for sending me \m/

  • what song is this?

  • ozzy is not a retard fagtard

  • I love Dio so fucking much!!! But thats not the reason why i think he sings every Ozzy era song GREAT!!!! The fucking guy has some incredible vocals! He is a true singer!!! How can anyone think other wise. Ozzy sang them first and gave it the original sound. But DIO took it to another LEVEL.!!! Dio is GOD AND SATAN!!!! LOL LOL LOL

  • dio is a professor ozzy is a janitor

  • FUCKEN A BRO!!!

  • You're so right alexisyankiel, you rock! \m/

  • wow! thanks for this vid!!

i always wanted to see Dio´s version of this song!!

i think this is the only song of Sabbath that i prefer Ozzy´s version, i like all the songs of Sabbath with Dio or Ozzy but Dio is better...

  • Yeah I like Ozzy singing this better......Dio rocks and all but not at songs originaly sang by Ozzy. though he did better at this one then Paranoid.

  • Great!!!

  • went to this tour in minneapolis...freakin awesome

  • I saw this show in saginaw michigan in 1982,still remember it like it was yesterday, been to over 250 concerts, and this remains one of the best shows that I've ever seen......

  • damn i thought the stage exploded 2:00

  • Comment removed

  • wtf???

  • Dio with Sabbath totally awesome !! He can sing !! Not knocking Ozzy , I just like Dio better. Looked Damn Good in those black leather pants during that performance. I'm A gal who likes hard rock. who ever filmed this video did an excellent job.

  • I'm trying to imagine what kind of camera (camcorder?) was used to film this by a fan in the audience in 1982!! He did some cool zoom in and out shit with his optical zoom adjuster at the songs climax!! Bet he never imagined that 25 + years later there'd be something called "the internet" where thousands of people would watch his recording. Nice mike on the cam' too as the audio sounds very good. Wonder where the filmer is today??

  • That's true, Sabbath fans are great!!!

  • oh my god!sorry ozzy fans but dio's performance in this song is something special and a lot better than the original version

  • you know what? I think we can all agree on one thing here.. we all like the same style of music.. Dio is awesome..Ozzy is awesome.. rap sucks and i like gin

  • @asored2000 yes i agree.....DIO AND OZZY ...FUKIN ROCK...and rap blows aaaassssssssssssssss..R.I.P. Ronny ..you will be missed..

  • Holy shit! This performance is so powerful that it is unbelievable! Thanks for posting this!

  • Awesome!

  • muy bueno pero me gustaria mejor en estereo y mas nitido muchas gracias forever jhon

  • pero ten en cuenta que lo grabaron los fans en el '82... sin camaras digitales...

  • in the past i never really liked the old ozzy songs with dio on vocals (although i liked the dio stuff very much) but know i came to like the dio performances of the old songs as well. He adds new power to the songs... some of those sounded a bit lame after hearing them the 1000* time with ozzy.

  • Ive just discover the Heaven and hell album...and i love it. Its interesting to me the little hobbit man Dio is drastically different than Ozzy; the contrast in content is as different as...heaven and hell. :)

  • terrible, I love dio, and i love Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, and dehumanizer, but only Ozzy can conquer classic Sabbath songs!

  • This Live Performance is Amazingly well done by RJD! Much Better than Ozzy.

  • There's a Hanoi Rocks cover of the song "Black Sabbath"...really evil and weird

  • Dude. I love Ozzy's Sabbath and I consider them to be Black Sabbath. Dio with Sabbath, which I will always call Heaven & Hell, is FUCKING AMAZING. Dio kicks ass at this song. I'm proud. <3

  • ronnie you are a GOD

  • Dio is one of the best metal singers of all-time. I love that giant oversized Han Solo shirt.

  • I was there Cow Palace S.San Francisco

  • This HD IS BITchin !!

  • OZZY SINGS "BLACK SABBATH" THE SONG AS IF FROM THE POV OF THE VICTIM WHO FLEES FROM WHAT HE SEES. DIO BELLOWS LIKE HE is THE PURSUER... PURE MALEVOLENCE! I - I - I!

  • Very true!Much more sinister!

  • mob rules and heaven and hell will always be sabbaths best work

  • DUDE...Awesome vid!

  • i suspect you know in your heart you are wrong.everyone likes ozzy because its the "in"thing for kids to be cool w/the older crowd.ozzy was much better solo than w/sabbath.

  • fuck you ajawofcopan

  • Here are bit of lyrics I wrote myself that describes you perfectly.

"Living in a free and ignorant bliss, unaware of the moronic things that pass from your poisonous lips."

  • Cmon man take it easy on old Dio he stepped in at a difficult time and handled it very well. Unicorns and princesses yes but He came from a band called Elf for cryin out loud! LOL!

  • you are so fucking stupid heaven and hell and mob rules were fucking huge and a hell of a lot better then the latter days ozzy-sabbath stuff you need to do some research before you post dumb ass comments

  • Are you serious? Ozzy worked with excellent musicians on his solo stuff, but the material was pretty weak. Listen to Sabotage, man. Great musicianship and chemistry between all of em.

  • I was at this gig....it was actually new years eve 1981.

  • Dio is so much better than Ozzy. Ozzy is just some drugged out retard.

  • both dio and meat loaf are gods :)

  • Just because you only know Sabbath from Paranoid and Iron Man... Blunt-minded retard.

  • This is aggressive as Hell! One of the best versions of this song Ive ever heard.

  • long live dio the elfman- i saw him live once and he wore sweet little elf boots. he rocks

  • Rare for sure, great find!

  • this is hardcore.

  • ware can i get the mp3s or a cd of dio doing Paranoid black sabbath or iron man??????

  • Get Live eviL.

  • Thanks

  • It is amazing how these blow hards have amenesia of the late 70s. Yes, Ozzy was great through the first few Sabbath albums, but the last 2 were horrible and Sabbath's popularity was waning. Dio revived them and they went on to produce 2 of their biggest albums. If anybody seriously thinks the albums Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die are superiour to Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell, they are on crack.

  • lols. so true.

  • i have been searching for dio singin this song forver!! thanks for posting dude!!

  • it's on Live Evil

  • This version is Better!

  • the only responsible of ozzy's departure is the same ozzy, so the sabbs had to turn the page, dio is a great singer, ozzy too, of course that their voices are too diferent

  • Ozzy gave the songs the whole little 'sabbath' feel, but when Dio came, imo, he blew it away, and introduced this darker, more satanic feel, which is why I like to call the band during the ozzy era Sabbath, and during the Dio era Black Sabbath.

Dio's better, no doubt about it. \m/

  • Wrong. The opposite of what you said is true. Ozzy used to sing about Satan's pregonitor (this song), about pollution and apocalyptica, Dio sings about riding on the backs of dragons and holy warriors. I'm sorry, it sounds like generalization, but it's true.

I'm not saying that Dio is BAD. On the contrary, he's an awesome vocalist and an awesome songwriter. But Ozzy is responsible for giving Sabbath that dark feel, with his moaning vocals.

  • ". But Ozzy is responsible for giving Sabbath that dark feel, with his moaning vocals."

I disagree 100%...I feel Sabbath was every bit as Dark with Dio at the helm....Definately more intellectual and more mystifying than ever...Tony, Geezer and Bill were responsible for Sabbaths dark complection..Dio added agression and fantasy to the elements that already existed...I along with millions of others didn't miss Ozzy when Dio took over...We started listening to Sabbath again..Platinum was result

  • You picked the more fast tempoed songs from the Dio era and the darkest and gloomiest songs from the Ozzy era. Compare them to After All(The Dead), I and Master Of Insanity. And thats one thing why I like Dio era even better: song writing turned much versatile. And I like the evil sound of Dio era. But still, original line-up was good too. BTW. I think that Dio does this awesome song better better tahn Ozzy. Others are N.I.B and War Pigs.

  • Finally someone who understands that Dio brought Sabbath back. The last few albums with Ozzy sucked ass.

  • Just because a record sells, does not mean it is good. After all,how many people bought boy bands such as backstreet boys and shit like that.Heaven and Hell(the album)blows away Technical Ecstasy and Never say Die.

  • amazing how one man can make all the diference black sabbath with ozzy was good without was shite i mean seriously no where near as good

  • I was at the show in Phoenix...the year before I saw Ozzy with Randy Rhodes 3 months before he died...RR was AWESOME...best I had ever heard...and I had just seen Van Halen 2 months before and RR BLEW him away

  • I praise Dio but this sux. Yhis is an OzzY song and allways will be.

  • this is spinal tap
