  • This is so nice!!!! Thank you very much and really a great idea. I love Scandinavian languages :)

  • Tack så mycket

  • I think you did a good job sharing your video! It is good when people are more exposed to videos about Sweden and its language! Cool that Youtube has channels like Sweden's channel and of course Speak Swedish Stupid that provides with information about the language!

Keep up the good job promoting Sweden :)

  • jeg kan bare fortell takk sa mycket fra Sor Afrika :)

  • 4:00 Friendzoned...

  • I thought Swedes say " mycket " without the T sound...

  • pliz can u make more love videos am in love :)

  • I am so thankful for your work on this video, Right on everything or not it is such a blessing and im really learning swedish. Thank you again.

  • thank u much, i learn Swedish with ur videos, it helps me a lot! :)

  • Hey!

to say "I want you" in swedish would you say "Jag will dig" or "Jag vill ha dig" or does Jag will ha dig mean i want to have you? is Jag will dig ok?

  • @teddyboysmith2 Hi there! To say "I want you" in Swedish you say as you have written already "Jag vill ha dig" and this sentence means "I want you/I want to have you" - but that's the same thing. You cannot use the word "will" in Swedish for it doesn't exist, my dear. I know it's confusing with Swedish but trust me you're doing very well.

  • fantastiskt

  • Wow, learning swedish is kind of difficult.

  • and what about inspiration, it sounds like inspiragun xD very hard this!

  • Hejdo! Can you tell me also about the "g" because in Jag it sounds like Joog, but when saying dig it is sounded like dei, and själ sounds like kväl the "k" is also sounding diffrent in words with a k, not like a k haha, very confusing xD You write diffrent letters than you pronounce very hard it is!

    Tack so mycket!

  • hahahahhahahahhaha GAY ! :D

  • fantastic video, glad to see the internet being used for something positive

  • these videos should be used to defuse international tensions. most relaxing things ever.

  • thankx for apload this video ,i'm Afghan i love to learn swedish

  • How can you not appreciate this video? That someone took their time to teach this wonderful language. If you didn't want to learn it, you didn't have to watch the video.

  • @brittanykoalaa Thank you so much, that's very wisely written, dear. :)

  • Thanks for uploading videos, this helps me a lot.

  • Thanks for uploading videos, this helps me a lot.

  • It reminds me so much of danish :D (at least most of it)

  • @GoSwedish im in kärlek with your videos <3

  • I am so happy to find this video, this whole set of videos! I love your app and I love the videos just as much!

  • no i'm not saying that i love swedish i said that it only sounds like english besides i wouldn't care because english is not my native i'm arab and i'm hinking of making videos like yours to teach arabic

  • @sayyedshuker I never said that you love Swedish. You told me that it sounds as if I am making fun of the English language. I am sure you didn't mean it like that, though? It would be nice to teach your language. I wish you the best of luck. :)

  • jag alskar this video swedish is cool it's like someone making fun of english language

  • @sayyedshuker Pardon? Are you saying I am making fun of the English language?

  • is there a difference between min and mitt? how do i know when to use each one? btw your videos are so helpful, thanks so much

  • @juicy99aholic This is a late reply and you may already know this but just in case, I gonna say it. If you put the word "ett" before the substantive you say "mitt" if you put "en" before, it is "min". Example is: ett hus/mitt hus, en bil/min bil.

  • such a beautiful voice, soothing sound :)

  • Are you on drugs or something?

  • @nyfitsaslianos Are you asking if I am on drugs? No, I am not on drugs. I have never been on drugs. I have never smoked or had any alcohol in all my 25 years. I am proud. I am high on life itself and love. You don't need drugs, you know. Your comment is awfully dumb. Thank You for putting me on the map.

  • @GoSwedish O_O you're 25? but your voice is so cute :3 i'm 14 and my voice is already so low from speaking cantonese (my native language)

  • GOSwedish, they say the French language is very romantic, I think the Swedish languge is far more apex, thanks for the videos.

  • Useful sentences :)))

  • Jag första°r min missförtand för "jag" .( Jag har förstatt ?) . Jag lyssnar dig och din video ofta . Tack sa° mycket . Jag älsknar mycket att lär svenka med din . Din order och meningar klingar till mig länge efter .

  • Jag är får sverige och vill bara säga... Bra svenska!!!

  • @Jossankram Tack så mycket! :)

  • In "Jag älskar dig" , I hear sthg like "York "(english) for "Jag".

"Ä "sounds like in german "ä" (umlaut) but not as in your lesson upon alphabet. where it sounds "a" (very open mouth)

Other phonems are the same as in your lesson. It seems to me that in swedish , pronounciation depends on words or locate :e is a diphhong but not everytime.

As you pronounce "det" and the special "a with the circle on its head" ( I can write it with my keyboard), you make clearly a diphthong.

    Thank you , GS!

  • @jeanpi314159 I understand how confusing it must be with Swedidsh with it's brand new. I can guarantee you though that there isn't any "York" when I pronounce "Jag" - but I do get that it must be SO hard to learn Swedish. I promise you that I do teach the correct Swedish. Thank you for your comment :)

  • I did really enjoy pronouncing these magic sentences . Then I tried to see if it actually worked ., as soon as min sanna kärlek did arrive . But it unfortunetly failed ! My älskning told me : Are you a fool ?stop that game with me ! So I told her to learn swedish with go swedish .

  • @jeanpi314159 Oh! I am glad you are spreading the love to your loved one. That is so cute, I think. And you can trust in my Swedish - so, know that I am always teaching proper Swedish so that you can feel safe when you speak it to others.

  • Only 2 days and 5 hours learning and I feel I know loads already :) the phrase "you are my everything" I knew just by reading it without reading the english :))) Swedish is very easy to learn! Thank you!!! or should I say Tack!!!!

    soll ich nach schweden fahren?

na das kostet zu viel geld

    jetzt schau ich das video

    es lebe deutschland!

    es lebe schweden

and now im just rambling so just forget i said anything

    im just bored

  • Jag är inte svenska men jag vet att alla kommer att hitta de bästa språk där ute! :)

  • I adore your videos and your voice! Could you maybe do a video on body parts in Swedish?

  • I have a question. How do I know when to use 'du' or 'dig' for the English word 'you'. Is it arbitrary? Should I just stick with one, or is there a rule to be followed?

My apologies if you've explained this in another video. I haven't watched them all yet (but I'm getting there).

  • @bushinarin I'm not a native speaker, but I think Du means you as a subject, and dig as an object. It's the same as in the english " I love HER" versus " SHE loves ME".

send me a Private message if you still don't understand and I'll try to explain it to you a bit more detailed.

    Cheers!

  • kärlek är storasta ämne av hjäta.

  • @johnrahat That is so sweet. Love is amazing. I wish the world could spread more love, because that's how we heal the world by showing love. It starts here. It's sweet that you learn Swedish for the person you love so much. Thank You so much.

  • I really love your videos. I really like this swedish boy and your vidoes are fantastic expecially when i use them to impress him. He smiles and blushes :)

They are also good for comedy, because sometimes i spell something or pernounse something wrong, but he thinks its cute. Your videos have brought me and him together. thank you so much!

  • @vannahomatic, that's so cute, and fun to hear! :) Thank You for telling me.

  • "Du är min inspiration!" Really!

    "Jag älskar" your videos! :)

I've recommended your videos to my friends who wish to speak Swedish. Tack! :)

  • Wow! Thank You so much for your comment. Tack! This made me very happy! :) Jag älskar din kommentar :D I am sure you can guess what that means?

  • "I love your comment"? :)

Jag älskar din kommentar också! ;)

Question. How do you say "I like you" in Swedish? Tack :)

  • Yay! Well done. Thanks! "I like you" is "Jag gillar dig" OR "Jag tycker om dig" same meaning, no rules. I think I teach this in some love video.

  • Comment removed

  • What is the difference between "mitt" and "min"? for example in "du ar mitt allt" and "du ar min varld"

  • Didn't you ask me about love? I thought so, anyway here you go... I didn't know how to explain the grammar in the video. "Kärlek" is the subst."love", while "att älska" is the verb "to love / make love

  • I really do not know how to explain grammar like this. This confuses me, too. It kind of scares me getting questions like this, I wish to give an awesome explaination but I don't know. Do you have an iPod Touch or iPod Touch? I explain grammar in the application.

  • @howtoteachers I think it depends on whether it's a common or neuter noun that it is describing, because adjectives have to match the noun's gender just like in Spanish, and my/mine is an adjective.

the mitt is used when it's an -ett noun and min is used when it's an -en noun, at least that's what I think ... I'm just a n00b to the whole language.

  • Yes. I believe that's correct. It's tricky with these things, I think - Even for a Swede like myself sometimes. I guess I'm not the most clever one ;)

  • @howtoteachers There are 2 genders in Swedish : neutral, and non-neutral. For example liv (life) is nutral : ett liv (a life), livet (the life), mitt liv (my life). On the contrary, värld is non-neutral : en värld ( a world), världen (the world), min värld (my world). Hope this helped :)

  • This lesson was great!! Thank you so much for it.

  • This is my favorite of all of your lessons....only someone in love can present this lesson so sweetly!

  • Oh! Your comment is so beautifully written that it made my heart smile. Thank You for your words, and this is also one of my favourite videos! I will create a Part 2later.

  • By the all gods!

Jag älskar ditt sätt att tala. Jag är säker på att det är kärlek.

Jag tror att jag kan förstå skillnaden mellan 'kärlek' och 'älska', am I? : )

By the way... i wanted to ask... are there in Swedish expressions similar to English "are you?", "aren't you?", "am I?" added to the end of sentence if you expect agreement or disagreement?

..and please... say that those few words in swedish wasn't to bad. ; )

  • Your Swedish is correct, simply perfect. It had me thinking you're Swedish :)

Yes, we have expressions similar to those that you mentioned. But not quite such as sentences like, for an example: "You are not sad today, are you?" or like "I'm not wrong, am I?" if you know what I mean? like when adding "Are you, aren't you...." at the end of sentences, to ask people. BUT of course we have does expressions but in Swedish we twist the sentences just a little bit :)

  • Trevligt att höra! : )

  • GoSwedish thanks so much for this video my girlfriend is swedish and im realy going to suprise her with this thank you so much!!

  • does anybody know how can i make those letters???...

  • she tells you how on the info bar of her alphabet video. Also you can just google "swedish accents"

  • Thanks for letting her know about the info on the Alphabet video. I hope that works on everyone's keyboard. I am not sure :) But then yeah, there's google!

  • yesssssssss i dooo

    ctrl + alt+ W =å

    ctrl-alt-L = ø

    ctrl-alt-Z = æ

    ctrl-alt-S = ß

mwuahahahhahaa ( you have to have your keyboard at VS international )

  • Awesome video...the audio is so clean. Working on my Swedish accent, not an easy task.

    I cannot thank you enough.....

  • Thank-you for making this! I got to express my love to my Mårten in his language because I watched this video and took notes. We are in a long distance relationship, and I know he is worth the wait, and worth learning this beautiful language. Thank-you again! I bet you are just as nice and sweet in real life as you sound in your videos! And congratulations on your engagement! Be blessed! -Katie

  • Thank You! Your comment made me happy. I know how you feel, me and Jonathan also have long distance relationship as it is now. I will eventually move to The UK. So, it's not so hard for us, we're getting closer to living together now. It's always tricky with moving and planning but what won't you do for love? And waiting is not a problem when you truly love someone. I am glad you have also found such amazing love. Thanks for your support! :)

  • Question:

Do you ever say mycket kärlek!

Sometimes I say much love to someone when I am saying bye.

  • I say that, too in English. And yes, you can indeed say "Mycket kärlek" or else you could also say "Massor med kärlek" as in "Lots of love" I am going to a second video for "love" so I will add this to the video :)

  • Fantastiskt! Tack så mycket.

  • hej vacker, tack for the help so far! it's been a lot of fun learning with you, I'm already feeling confident for my swedish trip. Is there any chance you could tell us the word for "puppy love" or "crush"?

  • great phrases cant wait to use them on a Cute Swedish Girl like you

  • Thank you so much for these lessons. I spent all afternoon yesterday listening to them and same thing today.

Can I make a request? Will you do a video of Swedish tongue twisters? I'm particularly interesting in these two:

Sju sjösjuka sjömän sköttes av sjuttisju sköna sjuksköterskor på det sjunkande skeppet Shanghai.

    And

    Farfar, får får får?

Nej, får får inte får, får får lamm.

  • Sorry for the late reply! But these tongue twisters are hilarious, I will keep your request in mind! I have been thinking of a video like this, actually. Thanks!

  • this is so good, sometimes i think i should be paying for listening theses courses.

  • Oh, thank you so much for those sweet words. But these courses are 100% free for you, you make me SO happy when leaving my comments. Thank You for watching and writing! :)

  • :O)

  • heyy thank you sooo much for these videos. I have looked everywhere for simple ways to strenghten my swedish even if its a couple of phrases per day. Its nice to see that some swedes are proud of their language and take some fo their time to help people like me out. hope u contineu making more and more videos.
