    put tears in my eyes.

    rtobias

  • Written by Charles Aznavour and Georges Garvarentz, released in 1961 and originally called 'Hier Encore'!!!

  • This is an Excellent version of Roy's tune! Julio has a very smooth voice and does such a good job singing it! And your visuals are very effective and match the music well. Thank you for posting!

  • i swear that guy could sing the phonebook it will still soung amazing!!

    Julio has a beautiful voice!!

  • Beautiful voice. Thank you.

  • Very, Very, Nice....really a great recording of the song. As usual, Julio turns in a compelling performance.....thanks for the post!

  • Julios is a great artist.Good version.Glenn Campbell's is too,but arranged in a different manner

  • A beautiful, beautiful song that Julio sings wonderfully. Thank you for posting.

  • rather good.

  • Gorgeous version. I love his voice. Thanks for sharing it!!!!!

  • Great Stuff ! Really !!!

  • This version is great. If you like this song also listen the one sang by Farhad I think you will enjoy it

  • His voice is like the wind...his voice seems to "float" in the air entering your ears gently..

  • @hermiemel I prefer this song sung by Eddy Arnold. I like Julio Iglesia, he is spanish like me, but I prefer when he sings in spanish.

  • this is wonderful, beautiful vidio, and that voice!

  • WHY DO THE EDITORS OF YOUTUBE KEEP SENDING ME NOTES IMPLYING THAT I MAKE TOO MANY POSTS /// I thought that was part of what You Tube was all about !

  • Nice. But I like the version of Shirley Bassey; Shirley Bassey performing Yesterday When I Was Young from the BBC special "All About Shirley" filmed in Germany, 1972. There you realy "feel" the melodie <3

  • I think th ebest is by Charlse Aznavour..

  • I cant wait to go to the concert

  • Yes, Roy Clark owns this song... but Julio does an interesting version with his voice almost like a violin...

  • yesterday when I was Child : (

  • Really Good! This is a wonderful song. The singer reaches the heart. Wonderful!!! He Puts soul into a great song. Almost cried. :)

  • i really adore this song and this singer real thank u for uploading it

  • Roy Clark wrote this along with another gentleman. Julio is very good, but Roy is still the master of this song.

  • @Plainview200

No, the song belong to Charles Aznavour and Herbert Kretzmer. Roy Clark just cover it.

  • Yesterday when I was young

The taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue.

I played at life as if it were a foolish game

The way the evening breeze plays with a candle flame.

The thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned

I always built to last on weak and shifting sands

I lived by night, declined the naked light of day

And only now I see the years that ran away

  • Great version.....If you like this, try Charles Aznavour's version. Even better than this.

    EB

  • @ebariana310

Specialy the later, slower version that Aznavour record.

  • Great song, Great singer!...I adore both...but they are not suitable each other...Julio's voice was created for songs about love to a woman...it's not his song...

  • Very lovely song. Julio's accent adds a nice dimension to it.

  • This music is very beautiful ...

It is very difficult to hear music as beautiful as this, I only hear music so beautiful, in BRAZIL.

  • Yesterday when I was young, it's a very nice chanson about how the life's short but so beautiful . Congratulations Maki, long life & health for us!

  • Belle chanson nostalgique.........les souvenirs de nos jeunes années.

Heureusement,je garde encore mon âme d'enfant,émerveillée à la beauté de la nature,de la musique,de la poésie....

    Merci daulao.

  • beautiful song, nice backup band but where are the drums? Would be better if Julio could sing clearer and w/o a spanish accent

  • julio iglesias is 100 % spanish .his spanish accent makes the song more beautiful.how can he change his accent?am portuguese i cant change my accent .can u change urs?....

  • @goldensidney,

When a singer who sings with a foreign accent cannot fully communicate to his listeners what he feels.

It is annoying to hear this famous singer sing like a child stumbling over pronunciation of simple words. Julio sings better in Spanish but not in English.

  • BEAUTIFUL version - best one I've listened too, very heartfelt. But I do like Glen Campbell's version too. Thanks for posting.

  • You're welcome, Wanda - thanks for taking the time to comment - appreciated!!

    Peace & love, Mike....

  • this is beautiful... makes me nostalgic though. but still, i love it

  • My absolute favorite rendition is by Eddie Arnold. Please do yourself a favor and listen to him singing it.

  • no one ever sang this song with such beautiful voice ! the best version ever!

  • Thanks y4l for your comments - appreciated!!! Julio's version is the best, isn't it, very soulful, meaningful!!!

Take care, peace & love, Mike!!!

  • I ve been listening to this cd for years and it never gets old

  • wow....wish we still had THIS QUALITY OF MUSIC

  • So do I, Olaila, so do I!!! Many thanks for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!!!! The creativity of the 60's is still the benchmark for all aspiring writers of music!!!

Take care, peace & love, Mike!!!

  • Makeithecat: While I'm a cloud & sunrise/set person - your stills of trees in various hues(via color screens) are truly appreciated. Esp. when they come with Julio Eglesias' (the secret love of my life) magnificent voice!

  • You're a sweetheart, Claudia!!!!! Lots more Julio and trees on the horizon!!!!

Hippies an' trees, huh, what can I say!!!

    Love, Mike.
