I never got that ending... Even at the tender age of 8 I was wondering how the hell he was supposed to survive months of sea-travel under atrocious conditions... I always thought he would have been better off if he stayed there!

Honestly, the bittersweet ending is why this movie is still one of my favorites. The fact that she had to find a happily-ever-after with a COMPLETELY different guy almost ruined this beautiful movie for me.

And THE END! Seriously now... THE END! This is the best finale this movie could have and no part 2 was ever needed! It's not only that she doesn't end up with John in the second one but the quality of the film got also ruined! So...in my head there never was a sequel and i can still hope that Pocahontas waited for John until he came back and they reunited!

História totalmente distrocida. Na história real, Pocahontas (significado: Menina Mimada) tinha 11 anos e o cara odiava ela, porque ela era uma criança muito "pegajosa". Se não me engano, na história real foi ele que fugiu da tribo dela, por não suportar viver com eles.

this is one of Disney's slightly underrated movies, but this ending is one of my favorites (and Disney endings are almost always awesome). there's no dialogue, and there's not a WHOLE lot happeing, but the imagery and the score is just SO beautiful.

Is the first "tragic romantic movie" for Disney ? followed by...in Hunchback he also doesn't get to be with Esmeralda and it was sad....it was good for Disney to do more 'grown up" movies for kids in the 90's because it is more realistic....and u never forget them either

I did not say I didn't like the ending to Hunchback. It's perfect. Quasi is actually more "cute" than monstrously ugly. However it is sad FOR HIM since he truly loved Esmeralda. Pocahontas and John Smith not being together made me sad too. But it was time for Disney to make movies like that!

This is a movie from 1995. The animation and scenery was stunning for the time, and is still stunning today. Yes animation has evolved, but Disney has lost it's touch as far as touching people with it's strongest scenes. The way the music blends with everything so nicely, the characters lines, and making it's characters something more than just a cartoon. This ending scene was an epic win.

Eu sempre compreendi esta parte assim: Ele está ferido e se não voltar para a 'civilização' pode morrer. Ora bem, ele não tem outra escolha senão ir mesmo. Ele pede-lhe para ela ir com ele, mas ela prefere ficar lá na terra dela porque é lá que ela pertence. É triste de facto, eu queria é que eles ficassem sempre juntos <3

Mas também é isso que torna este filme tão tão lindo. Eu realmente só não percebo porque fizeram o 2º da pocahontas, tá totalmente parvo e sem nexo.
