to change the icon, make a shortcut of the file, then right click and go to properties in the shortcut tab it'll say change icon... click on it and you can choose one or upload your own.

you can set it so that it pops up automatically when you log in from the welcome screen. go to start, all programs, find "startup" and double click it and drag the pop up icon from your desktop to it.
