What's funny is that if anyone actually studied Fetullah Gulen and read not only his writings but also those of his mentor, Said Nursi, they would find NOTHING militant about those teachings.  If his goal was to spread militant Islam, you would find clues to that in the teachings of Gulen's teacher and mentor (Said Nursi). If anything, their schools spread a very de-radicalized version of Islam and are exactly what is needed in the Islamic world.

@ohohmrbill1 Militant/extremist Muslims make that claim about almost all Sufis, not just Gulen. But thanks for championing their propaganda that Sufis are not real Muslims. I'm sure centuries of Sufis going back to the scholar Al-Ghazali. I am sure that the almost thousand years of Tasawuuf (Sufism) within Islamic history would agree with you and the terrorists. Charter schools in America founded by Gulen members DO NOT TEACH ISLAM period.

@ohohmrbill1 Furthermore the schools in Central Asia that are affiliated with Gulen and that DO teach Islam do so because they are in MUSLIM COUNTRIES. As such, they help to provide a buffer against Saudi Salafist influences such as the extreme Salfist influences that you see in countries like Nigeria, Somalia, parts of the Phillipines, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc...

@ohohmrbill1 Finally, if the Gulen organization wanted to convert American kids to Islam, it would make more sense for them to set up PRIVATE SCHOOLS in poor neighborhoods (with Gulen funded scholariships) where it would be perfectly legal for them to teach Gulen's interpretation of Islam (or any interpretation of Islam).

@gulec2000 I have plenty of knowledge about the movement. Gulen does not write his books. They are plagiarized and written by followers for which he takes the credit for. He is a fraud. I do know his life. How many times was he jailed? Once for secretly teaching Islam to students. The last time he fled the country like a rat jumping ship to America to avoid prosecution. Many of his sermons were anti American it was not until Clinton he was on our terror list. .

Firstly She has to learn what is difference between madrassa and school. All Fethullah Gulen schools follow the secular educational system in Turkey and another country. Gulen did spend time in jail for secretly teaching Islam in one of his schools. He fled Turkey like the crook he is to avoid being arrested. yes the charges dropped, but why does he not go back?
