I dont understand the ending to MGS4 can somebody please explain? SPOILER ALERT when they both inject each other with sterioids and scream the camera goes off them, what happens after that? do they continue fighting with the ending result unknown or do they both die? or what?

the syringe doesnt have steroids, it suppresses the body's nanomachines to stop its malfunctions and bad reactions and restores psyche. When they inject, they're restoring their own psyche, and they inject each other due to their grudging respect for each other. then they continue fighting and snake wins and lives.

liquid ocelot doesnt really have multiple personalities. liquid really died in the first msg, but ocelot adopted his personality through hypnosis and nanomachines. in doing so, liquid ocelot became a threat to the AI-run patriots, who enlisted solid snake to combat the threat and eventually led to the end of the patriots themselves.

you can tell liquid's personality is fueled by nanomachines because when the syringe supresses ocelot's nanomachines, ocelot reverts to his normal personality.

liquid dies at the end of the first mgs from the foxdie virus. its right after the huge car chase out of shadow moses.

actually, he might've somehow had control over ocelot during the second game, but by the fourth game ocelot replaced liquid's arm with a cibernetic one.

Yeah, I'm half imagining it while half watching this vid now. It would have been super exciting indeed. But I understand the slowness of the real fight: It was the grand finale, Kojima's way of closing the curtain on 10(?) years of Metal Gear. The series that arguably rocketed him to international fame. The series that he, and a lot of us grew up with. It needed a fitting recap, and there it was. It triggered a lot of emotions, so it did its job perfectly. I was happy with it.

Yes, XcatisX is correct. I got them confused because "Duel" is what played when Solid Snake fought Liquid Snake atop REX. "Encounter" plays when Old Snake fights Liquid Ocelot atop Outer Haven. So, the correct order is "Encounter," "Tanker Incident," "Snake Eater," and finally, "Old Snake."
