Yes, as a pre-med major with a rectus abdominal muscle pull/tear. Venus sustained this injury in 2003 during the Wimbledon Championships. This was derived from her serve motion, she yanks up on that muscle. Serena on the other hand has a fluid motion which doesn't effect her body as much. If Venus had a motion like Serena does, I cannot think about..... it would be scary it would be scary

Love Serenas serve but you have to give alot of credit to Venus she barely moves when serving and yet can get just as much powerful off it

@nottys92 Its not about making it look easy, Serena has the easiest motion as she has the same ball toss, and her motion is a relaxed and a flowing motion. It's not technical at all. When Venus falters on the ball toss, her serve falters.

When people like Serena Williams (5'9") and Davydenko (5'10") unleash serves at close to 130mph, it kinda gives hope to anyone like me who isn't 6' plus but would like to have a strong serve. Even Henin has a solid serve, and she's 5'5"!

Serena rules!!! Venus and Serena do not get the respect that they deserve in relation to their serve power and agility. Many still do not realize just how talented they really are; furthermore, Venus has the record for the fastest serve at 130mph. Serena disguises her serve just like Federer, but she doesn't get credit for it.

INdeed i have that serena serve. However today it was a shabbles, i couldnt get the ball toss right and that element is pivotal to the Serena serve. An important point to make is how she tranfers her weight for maxium power, she binds it in her back foot and transfers it and she hits through. Gos erena serve!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Thats how I learned to serve and hit by ... watching the Williams sisters I'm gonna post some of my tennis action on here so you and others can see how similar my game is to theirs but i can never find someone who wants to record me bummer lol. You should post some vids of you playing also : ) I know what you mean its awesome when you get her serve toss and rhythm right.

me too when i was young and i always hear them winning grand slams on the news and i never really cared but i always remember the names Venus and serena and when i started tennis i saw them and i was like your the best! I wouldnt start tennis or start watching it if it wasnt for them.
