  • Awesome . I didn't know Ray Charles Played Sax !

    Thanks

  • Ray played a lot of instruments. He played drums on a couple of his tracks, too.

  • A Master....

  • Ray charles is a true example of what a person could become as a human being and as an artist against...(Victor Vanacore). Rey is a great genious!!

  • Simply superb.

    Thanks for sharing ♪

    Peace

  • 4:48 is he playing sax?

  • Yes, Ray played the alto sax.

  • Thank you Mr. Primack for doing such a wonderful video series. BTW I think it would be really cool if you could profile some other great jazz performers like Davis, Parker, and Sandoval. I think that telling the story of his music is very interesting and original. Before this series thought of Charles as an R&B performer, but seeing how he did play "Moanin'" as shown in this video and played jazz alto, I have even more respect for such an outstanding musician.

  • I love what you're doing!! Ray lives!!

  • thank you so much for this first episode - can't wait for the next! i've been getting into a lot of ray recently myself!

"the great ray" along with "hallelujah i love her so" have to be my all time completely favorite albums . . . this guy excites in whatever setting he's playing!

    cheers

  • Yes, indeed!

  • "Bar 59, Tenor Sax, that should have been Bb instead of B natural"... That's just incredible... Genius
