Agreed. They never meant for anyone to actually interpret the conversation so of course it didn't make sense. They used her voice so they could have the cartoony phone conversation in the first place and sped it up for that cartoony effect but if they had just used a cycling audio file it would sound bad so they chopped it up to make it a more appealing and live sounding phone conversation.
