I think he did pretty good... When someone give u negative for something u try to do thats positive, they are a hater. You just need better crashes for what u were trying to do in the pauses... The sound isn't bright enough or it could just be the mic that u recorded it with...but excellent job... Half these haters can't do half as good as you did...
thanks man, i'm really not bothered by them. as for the crashes, they are pretty bright, but the camera mic isn't very good at picking up high pitch/freq, you can tell because you can barely here the hi-hat when i play them closed

In live situations you MUST, MUST, MUST play with a click track and in-ears/headphones but hillsong uses click tracks whenever they play...especially that recording so he doesnt really need a click for playing along with a song in headphones..its there naturally. And his headphones proably isolate sound better than in-ears which he probably doesnt have so he would use ipod heaphones which suck at isolation! lol
IM not going to lie Depending on the type of in-ear you use. they do isolate better than Vicfirth headphones. Vicfirth headonphone only remove high tones from your ears. When i play live i like to use Skull candy headphones. If you can invest in some its well worth it!
hey man, i was really imppressed at the start and thought your sticking was nice on the snare, but then it lost it for me through the song. i was like you about 2 years ago playing for my church. i always tried to chellenge myself by mixing it up and putting in more complex grooves and stuff on the bass and around the kit in fills. ive simplified my playing so much in the last couple of years and it has worked wonders for the band! focus on tightness man and youll be amazing!

also, i did not record this video with the intent of actually praising along to it, more for practice really to experiment. i have been to conferences and services when drummers play just as busily, if not, busier than how i played, and i had no problem praising along to the songs. one more thing,you might want to ESPECIALLY be careful of some things you say.for example: "this song should be treated as if you are playing for the Lord" WOW. and who are YOU to dictate what He accepts and doesnt?

Overall it was average. *But a you have a key thing that alot of drummers can never in a lifetime nail. You have 4 limb control. A good drummer is defined my his highhat foot and you seem to keep time very well during this video. I'm an atheist so I'm not a fan of the song, but my only advice is to untighten the felts and wings on your cymbals to let them ring a little more free.
He is a really good drummer. Sure he messed up a couple times, but overall he did a good job. He didn't post this to impress you guys. He posted it to share the love of Jesus Christ. He wasn't playing to show his talent. Again, he was playing to share the love of Jesus Christ. In the end, it doesn't matter how good we sound, or how much we mess up.
What matters is that we are playing for our God. Because when we play worship music, it's supposed to come from our hearts and go straight to God. That's all that really matters.

you have great techniques, or more precisely, good rhythm. however, it'd definitely sound so much eminent if you make good use of ur talents in diversifying the dynamics, style, and fills for the blatantly differing portions of the song. in other words, make adequate use of rhythm and dynamics for different parts of this song.

I def wanna recommend u a few points man..& of course you may take it or leave it..
A) you should definitely play with a metronome in your headphones/in-ears during any alone practice times/music rehearsals/gigs
B) loosen up your cymbals on their stands so that they can ring out a little more
C) it's not always about playing everything you know in a song, but it's about playing in the pocket
Just use your talents for God, and HE will lift you up!

I totally disagree with kutoonn and gamix. Worship shouldn't be boring simple music. Maybe they also think worship songs shouldn't have intros, instrumentals, solos, distortion, high notes and other such distracting features.

you are right. this is just another example of how we should not look at the things that don't mean much like how he spelled something, i mean yes, its important to know, since you are a Christian, but come on, there is totally no reason to put him down like that. This is a good cover, there are many different way people can praise God and this is also one of them, and I see that you are praising God and that is good enough for me!!
