Now their sequel achieved what took their first game to do in 1 year in just 2 months and with half of the million copies being sold the first week. A game with no marketing campaign managed to reach that and with a development budget of $8 mil and generating $47 mil in profit so far. They still have a lot more copies to sell.

Strange how TW2 did better then it's console counterpart Demon Souls and it won a GOTY award. The Witcher 2 didn't have hype of games like Starcraft 2 or BF3. If Hard Reset isn't a success for the devs then it's most likely because they released the game during a season in which the big budget games claim supreme.

Oh and demon souls was a new IP and had nothing of the hype Witcher 2 had. Not to mention it was not released all over the world same time. Witcher 2 is practically selling nothing on retail anymore and that is still where most of its sales came from. Sure they may pump the number when they start pushing it out through GOG 5$ download.

Cd Projekt has only done 2 titles so far and they've only been for PC so far while From software has at least released 1 game on every console. Not surprising retail sold more since the game is more geared towards Europeans and retail versions were special additions being charged the same price of a regular AAA game except collectors.

I know, but everything they've done since Painkiller has sucked. The expansions and sequels to PK were decent enough, but comparing this game to other popular or successful things just means they have nothing else going for it.
@Psykotto If I remember correctly all of those expansions/sequels were developed by other people except for Battle out of Hell. They only thing recently that could be somewhat shitty is BulletStorm but that was co-developed by epic. I'm sure the Ex CD Projekt devs will help harden up the games atmosphere and etc. I don't what City Interactive employees will do.
Oh shit, you're right, forgot about that. BooH was definitely the strongest of the expansions/sequels. Still, I don't have high hopes for this game, because Blade Runner just means it's futuristic, Matrix means it has robots or something, and Painkiller means it has shooting stuff, so it really just sounds like Deus Ex with all the rpg elements stripped. Then again, I don't really have high hopes for any game anymore.

@ast0f not necessarily, Crysis was still a great game and it's a PC exclusive with euro devs as well, cyberpunk is harder to make a good game about than in the near future so we'll see but I can see this being some sort of spiritual successor to Crysis.

@Actionboy619 I don't think it's just because BF3 is published through Origin. It's basically the exact same thing as Steam, just from a different publisher. What I don't like about BF3 is their preorder deals. Don't make people pay extra to access items that are already present when installing the game. @lxreaper In a time like this where we get lots of console ports I don't think PC Gamers will let go of a chance to have devs who are willing to make SP Focus FPS exclusively for the PC. If they advertise this game on Steam and other Digital stores they'll do fine. I hear stories of people who pirated TW2 and released how great the game was and ended uninstalling the torrent without even finishing the prologue and buying the game. PC has been lacking some SP driven FPS. These days

@ast0f not necessarily, Crysis was still a great game and it's a PC exclusive with euro devs as well, cyberpunk is harder to make a good game about than in the near future so we'll see but I can see this being some sort of spiritual successor to Crysis.

@Actionboy619 I don't think it's just because BF3 is published through Origin. It's basically the exact same thing as Steam, just from a different publisher. What I don't like about BF3 is their preorder deals. Don't make people pay extra to access items that are already present when installing the game. They deny people who don't preorder the use of a part of the game they already paid for.

Pirates are everywhere you're stupid if you say that this is only an issue on the PC, I was refering to CRYSIS not CRYSIS 2. yeah sure people pirated Crysis as well but, it sold 3 million copies which is something that hasn't been achieved by the second one. Also people like convenience and having to start up multiple DD services is annoying and NOT convenient, that's why.

@Actionboy619 actually Gears of War 3 was leaked last week or so, Killzone 3 was too. It doesn't even matter anymore second hand game sales are damaging sales for publishers even more than pirating is so that isn't even really and issue. Yes of course there are more DD services but who wants anything other than steam? I mean I use Origin too I'm fine with having two of them but other people aren't. Also it isn't laziness as much as it's convenience. If something is provided, why not use it?

I'm willing to pay the 50 - 60 dollars that it'll cost on launch but, no, I'm not exaggerating about deals, I bought Assassin's Creed 2 for $2.50 , I bought Singularity for $11.50, Just cause 2 with all the DLC was $8.00, Medal of Honor (the new one) was $11.00 all on steam. Please give me example of this "false logic". Retail is just a stupid move, I go other places just not retail stores so that isn't even a valid argument.

@lxreaper In a time like this where we get lots of console ports I don't think PC Gamers will let go of a chance to have devs who are willing to make SP Focus FPS exclusively for the PC. If they advertise this game on Steam and other Digital stores they'll do fine. I hear stories of people who pirated TW2 and released how great the game was and ended uninstalling the torrent without even finishing the prologue and buying the game. PC has been lacking some SP driven FPS. These days
