@tellit2yastr8 longer than your dance video,.. maybe you can do better, i would love to see your expertise,.. judging by your dance video it is lackluster
Best coincidence for me so far this year: Listening to Gwar's version of "Scool's Out" while checking out this vid... Alice Cooper for-the-fucking-win! lol ;D
@lucasmorter ,.. not a sponsor,.. he's a friend,.. and he is staying in my yard right now here in quartzsite will be in the tyson wells rock and gem show here this coming weekend
@thedesertartist you were joking around at the beginning of this video and theres a bottle of widmer and you said they were your sponsor at like 40 seconds into the video.
@thedesertartist its all good. i like the video though i really wanna get into silversmithing just not sure where to start, what to buy to get started and all of that. i have plenty of experience working with metal and i love working on little projects like this instead if watching t.v. any idea where i could get some info on starting out making silver jewelry?
@lucasmorter find a silversmith, lapidarist, make sure that the person knows how to cut stones,.. and FABRICATES EVERYTHING HIMSELF, learn the true fundamentals, you should first learn how to cut stones, silversmithing will work its way in,.silver is like leather, expensive, so it is best to learn with someones elses time and effort,. be sure to listen to EVERYTHING they have to say,.. speak your questions, remember there are 6 basic questions to everything,.. who what where when why and how
@thedesertartist cool thanks for the info man. i wanna get into that kinda stuff i enjoy gold prospecting and rock hounding and realized where i live the gold prospecting will never be very fruitful. i live in portland and around here its a days work to find enough gold to solder a ring together ha ha ha i think i may have found a gram of gold in the last 4 timesi have been out and thats running at least 10 buckets a trip through my sluice.
@bonet46 yea sorry about that,.. that is one thing i should have done at the end,.. my apologies,.. the ring was awesome though i wished i could have had it,.. as simple as it was,.. i personally like the faceting of the ring shank
dont think peraljameric has done much art, crafting, etc.......the studio looks
very familiar to mine, like mine, its part of the artistic process......like its a flow..I personally love this video and appreciate the effort that went into it@
@carolineindenver thanks caroline,.. the other crazy thing with nicoli is that he is dyslexic as well as ambidextrous,.. this man can facet a stone in 30 minutes,.. a basic brilliant round,.. he is incredible,.. he knows so many shortcuts and interesting little tidbits that every stonecutter and jeweler should know,.. i hope to get more of him and a few more lessons up at some point
@pearljameric nicoli has a photographic memory,.. it was a personal challenge to nicoli,.. as he constantly strives to better himself,.. if everything was organized he would know where nothing is,.. at least that is what he tries to tell me,.. i have tried for years being his apprentice and organizing stuff to no avail,.. he calls it organized chaos,.. kinda like vietnam was he knows where it all is and what should happen,... life in war kinda changes a mans mentality
Great video,I love working with silver though in the UK the material cost makes it prohibitively expensive, sure you can melt down scrap and use it but even spot prices are high.At the moment silver is listed as $18 USD an Oz but you be lucky to pay less than $29 USD,they have a nasty habit of ripping people off here, some jokers are trying for 2x spot for silver!
@silver760 wow thats crazy!!,.. i bought some pieces for 1.50 a gram,.. but trade material for stones i cut,.. hopefully i will be able to make some money on them,.. i dont know,.. hopefully so,.. thanks for the comment!

I have not done any smithing in 40 years, so this video shows me step by step!
Just bought a Pilot Mountain carbochon & I'm determined to make a ring.
Nicoli makes it look easy....and that is a gift! If we were in the same city
I would love to be his apprentice...thanks again!
